I don't know where you are getting that half of all bullying is caused by what kids where, because i go to a school with more than 4000 students, and what we wear is not a cause of conflict between students. There is a wide away of styles worn at my school, either as self-expression or just because that clothing is just more comfortable. Trying to handicap a students ability to dress themselves in order to prevent them from facing possible criticism would be roasting the house the burn a pig. Side: Bad

Of course they're good, make a uniform and it ends up being that people can't talk about how their jeans are from so-and-so while their jeans are from Walmart. But, if we have uniforms, it ends that everyone is dressed equally. Not to mention, you don't see the ripped jeans or skirts that work as belts. Side: Good

School uniforms not only decrease bullying which is the standard argument but have also been proven in psychological studies to increase concentration and productivity in a learning environment. This is why people where "smart" clothing to work because the outward appearance of professionalism and the link to work instantly creates a mindset for work, equally uniforms do the same for kids, it helps them understand the importance of appearance and professionalism, knowing the difference between when they should work and when they shouldn't. There is a reason why when in schools all the smart well behaved students will look tidy while the ones who cause trouble will look scruffy and dirty. Side: Good
I think that school uniforms are good. I go to a school where we must wear school uniform apart from upper years and it works well. We have occasional days where we wear our own clothing and I have actually been bullied (however not seriously) because of the clothes I wear. Obviously wearing the uniform helps because you wont be talked at badly. I am in upper school now where luckily everyone has matured a bit but that is the problem, young people aren't mature and wont always consider how they are making the other person feel. So yes, I personally feel uniforms are good, especially for people under 17. Side: Good

I go to a public high school with out a school uniform, and aside from an occasional dress code violation, there has never really been any issues with what kids were at school. I have seen kids who wore pokemon or power-ranger t-shirts and no body was making fun of them. School can work just fine without uniforms, so there is no need to add such an un-nessicary restriction on the student body. Side: Bad

Let people wear whatever the hell they want to wear and I mean "whatever" they want to wear. Back in my old high school there was a gay guy who once got in big trouble for dressing like a woman. He wasn't breaking any of the school dress codes. He was just simply dressed as a woman. Well believe it or not most of the students were perfectly fine with it. The only ones complaining were the adults. Side: Bad
