CreateDebate is a social debate community built around ideas, discussion and democracy.
If this is your first time checking out a debate, here are some quick tips to help get you started:
Arguments with the highest score are displayed first.
Argument replies (both in favor and in opposition) are displayed below the original argument.
To follow along, you may find it helpful to show and hide the replies displayed below each argument.
To vote for an argument, use these icons:
You have the power to cast exactly one vote (either up or down) for each argument.
Once you vote, the icon will become grayed out and the argument's score will change.
Yes, you can change your vote.
Debate scores, side scores and tag scores are automatically calculated by an algorithm that primarily takes argument scores into account.
All scores are updated in real-time.

When you are ready to voice your opinion, use the Add Argument button to create an argument.
If you would like to address an existing argument, use the Support and Dispute link within that argument to create a new reply.
We're not meant to live or die... we're not meant to do anything at all. We happen to have evolved into something self-aware enough to understand that we do die, and so have created all types of ideas and superstitions surrounding this phenomenon,
But it's not a matter of fate or pre-ordained or destiny, it's just how it is.
I completely agree with what you're saying so... we evolved into something that knows it's going to die. Is that a good thing or bad thing? It could be both IMHO.
I don't think humanity could pull this off. Genetics is a loss of information. So not only will we continue to die, but in the future; we will die earlier and more painfully.
I believe mutations occur at a comparable rate to genetic loss. As long as a wide enough gene pool is available for reproduction genetic options would seem to continue to offer a similar number of options, simply in imperceptibly different directions.
It also seems genetic history disproves this theory. Humans live longer and healthier lives today than ever in history, and like every single generation has been able to say the same thing, even amidst plague and war it seems.
At what point do you believe this to cease being the case? When will humans begin dying earlier and more painfully? What is this based on precisely?
The truth is that it's purely psychological. You're tricked into thinking you'll die from a young age, and so you do.
If you didn't know people died, do you think you would die if you were launched from a cannon through a razor shaft, finally landing on the Impaling Wall of Infernal Needles?
I've been saying this for years. It's why I don't give blood. It's part of a government sanctioned pyramid scheme run by vampires which only serves to further indoctrinate the death conspiracy.
Well, I thanked about it and I still believe I am ment to die. But seriously folks, all G-Nazi stuff aside.... I didn't know the Bible and scientists said we weren't meant to die? Dis is newz 2 me?!
I will put the other link up about the scientists So you all can get a better understanding from where i am coming from. I been researching about death for a few years now because its like one of the biggest parts of our life's.
I do get confused and there are a lot of theories out there.. Like there might not be anything after death, Might just be government population control, Maybe humans where never From earth and from another planet, Maybe that's why NASA keeps going to space and so on but IDK but I believe anything is possible in this life.

by which you mean you've been googling every crazy theory you can find whilst ignoring all philosophical or scientific research on the matter that has any merit whatsover?
i wont ever die because thats what i believe, ill die physically but my soul will live on, and if you want a soul you have to believe you have one! otherwise your soul will be damaged and disappear... and when you die you will be stuck in hell, that is, a place of despair until you learn that you DO have a soul and start growing it!
Like qui gon jin says: your focus determines your reality
because thats what you believe will happen, and thus your reality will conform to that belief
even if youre wrong you wont know you are so why not just believe you have a soul? it cant harm anything, and if anything it will just give you something to look forward to
That doesn't make sense... Simply BELIEVING in something does not cause it to exist. What happens after I die will happen to everyone else (so if going in a state of non-existence is true, then it'll happen to everyone).

That's just a variation of Pascal's Wager (i.e., it's stupid).
believing youre taking a medication when youre just taking something fake produces better results than taking an actual medicine, so you are wrong, and you have no clue what lies ahead after death, neither do i, but im optimistic, i said "simply believing cant hurt anything" I guess it can harm the ego....
i know i was just pointing out believing something CAN make it true, if you believe your body is being healed, your body will heal, and plus meditation has better effects than drugs www.psychedelicmeditation.com
You are so messed up. Here, let me prove you wrong. Why don't you believe really really hard that if I shoot you in the face with my 12 gauge shot gun, you won't die. Then let me try it. I think you will find the results quite convincing. Or let me push you off a cliff and have you believe you could fly. Nothing is of existence just because you believe it. Get real kid; get educated.
Well i would die physically but you see your argument falls because we are talking about life after death in this situation... idiot, and flying? really? way to bring up an illogical argument, i realize i said if you believe it hard enough it will become true, but flying? really? ...............
You dont know its not true, your beliefs are christian so you should believe in the afterlife.... and just because theres no proof that something doesnt exist doesnt mean it doesnt exist.... and the laws of logic? oh please, thats why we have an irrational part of our brain, for this exact purpose, im not a pure left brain robot
See, you are missing the entire point. The point wasn't "Is there an afterlife?" You asked are we really supposed to die. I responded to you blatantly ignorant statement "if you believe something, it can make it true". The TRUTH is that reality is intrinsic in itself. As a pothead/drug user, I'm sure you have seen hallucinations that aren't even close to being actually real, your mind just plays tricks on you making you think you see it. But in reality it doesn't and never existed. So get real and get off the pot because it's just messing with your head and making you look like an illogical, uneducated moron.
lol i havent even smoked in like 2 months pretty sure i have clarity dude, and i said believing in something strong enough CAN make it true, not DOES make it true, theres a HUGE difference, why dont you go back to your southern roots and keep hating anything that isnt white? Lol, and cannabis has been being used by humanity for 10,000 years, so thats pretty stupid, weed doesnt make you hallucinate. The priests of your religion in the past used to pour 4 litres of hash oil over themselves to become annointed, and you follow christianity so you have no room to talk buddy. Are we really supposed to die? I didnt even answer the question directly so here let me answer it:
Yes, we are supposed to die so that we can pass on to the next stage of life.
