Guns aren't supposed to be fun, they're strictly for the purpose of security. I'm choosing the yes side though due to the fact that they are used for hunting which is fun to some people. It's ok though, let's ban hand guns; even though they are illegal in Chicago and the city just received the highest homicide rate. Guns don't kill people, careless gang bangers behind them do. Actually, I read a report ( a while back) that had connected concealed gun laws with less crime. In my mind, it would make sense. Most criminals are opportunist. Now if taking a purse would involve a physical controversy, they are less inclined to want to take it. Add in the possibly of death and that takes it away totally. Here is a list of references you should look over prior to commenting on my argument. Some are for, some are against, and some just say neither. Depending on what you're using them for guns can and are fun! Haven't you ever heard of target practice? Not just circular paper but metal cut-outs of different animals at differing heights? I've gone many times and it is fun...a lot of fun. I've also used a 22 gage rifle, a double barreled shotgun, a sawed off and a couple of pistols. Seems I'm a pretty good marks person with a rifle but need lots of practice with a pistol! Guns, therefore, do not have to be for the purpose of security only nor do they have to be used for killing...ANYTHING!!! Side: yes
Alright Chicago Bears fan, take it easy. I'm not opposing this because you made a valid point involving target practice, etc. But our founding fathers didn't label the second amendment to be "fun". But the fact that gang bangers shoot at people for fun is way I'm saying guns are supposed to be fun. Rapper 50 Cent said he shot someone for the first time when he was 8 years old because it was fun; more like an idiotic ape from the stone age. Side: No

Guns should not be fun because their main purpose is to inflict damage(mortal damage). They are a necessity sometimes but so is going to the dentist. Why should inflicting pain on others be fun? Guns are serious and should be treated as such. Toy guns (paintball, laser tag, computer games) on the other hand are fun because the lethality is removed. Side: No
Just for the heck of it...whats the difference between putting an orange ball through a hoop and hitting a clay target with a shotgun? Isn't the idea to see if you can? I know I know "guns are deadly mmkay" so lets try baseball! Ball bats can be deadly! Oh yeah cars can be deadly! Steak knifes, saws, drills, nail guns, scissors, wii remotes, and the list goes on forever! Notice I said "can be" not "are made to be". It all comes down to responsibility and common sense. Of course kids find guns fun! Why do you think so many children play with fake guns for hours and hours, for a time spanning years and years? They simply find them fun. I got my hands on a gun when I was younger, but I didn't go crazy because of it, because I had the proper background information about guns and great, knowledgeable supervision. I think guns are fine, but you have to learn about them and how to use them the correct way. Side: No

This is a matter of opinion, let me remind everyone who's getting all worked up. Like, I think chess is fun, some people don't. I don't think there's anything fun about shooting a gun. Or hunting. I do think paintball is fun though, because the other animals know they're playing too, and even have their own guns. Kind of makes it a challenge. Side: No
