Yes because they only worry about themselves and their family but not really others unless its their friends.

Agreed. The problem I'm seeing with today's society is that a lot of people don't have much respect for their friends either. They just use them and don't really care much about them.

respect, long gone.

people exist in their own world. they don't acknowledge the other population either. -_-

Side: Yes

Yes. And who cares about someone if he/she doesn't even know him/her? If you meant all people on the world then no way they will care about anyone who they don't know, especially me. Why? Why not? Even if you would send a charity money to Africa through a big charity company. They would just thank you for throwing some cash in and that you helped them, not like the others who spend money on themselves (For important reasons also). - If you speak about relatives. Then they know you, love you, care about you, clean up after you, and you are great friends with the people you are surrounded with. And don't tell me that respect is required to society. Word respect means I admire you, I like you, and that's it. So... Is it important that many people dislike someone they barely know or just dislike because they find someone unsuitable for them? Personally it doesn't bother me who likes who and who doesn't.

Side: Yes

Quite the opposite, we now feel we need to respect everyone. I say, just grow a thicker skin, but don't let anyone touch you, or else it's on!

Side: No

.>?

People are losing and gaining respect for each other all the time.

It's not anything new.
