Speakin of da gangstuh look wit' da pants down around the knees, I happen to know the origin of that look. Being a native Detroiter where that fashion statement is as common as rusty buildings. They call it "jailin'." It comes from the fact that when some of the OG's were booked into county and thrown into the tank, they guards would take away their shoelaces AND belt: lest they be used as a garrote-type weapon or a suicide tool. So for those cats who needed the belts to hold up their pants, they soon found their pants down below their johnsons. Hence, the "jailin'" look. The no-shoelaces look was the same. When I used to go downtown and play pick-up basketball I noticed the kids would play the easy opponents without even lacing up their sneaks. When they finally laced 'em up you knew they were getting ready for some serious hoopin' and "ain't tryin' to be messin' 'round which you any more." LOL. Oh...sheeit...It's you, ProLegos! I didn't even know this was your debate at first. Well hell, I wouldn't a posted that had I known. I mean..you bein' black and all (cough couch bullshit) I am sure you know all about this sheeit. So forgive me for tellin ya something you awready be knowin. SS Side: Yes
