Are sunsets gay?

After making a joke about our job’s policies about the de-glamorization of alcohol, a coworker and I got in a disagreement about sunsets.

Here is the dialog of the co-worker and I after the joke he made:

Me: Yea, drinking [alcohol] in the sunlight sucks, I'd much rather drink at dusk where I could view the sunset and feel the cooler wind.

Coworker: Well I didn’t take it to a gay level, talking about sunsets and shit, but ok.

Me: So sunsets are gay?

Coworker: Not if you have a female with you, but when you're talking about watching a sunset with five of your guy friends, that’s pretty gay.

Me: I didn't say that. So what? I like sunsets. So what if you view them alone?

Coworker: Gay.

Me: I think you need to climb out of that box that society has put you in.

Coworker: I think you need to stay away from me and my box and go watch a sunset.

So the question is, is liking sunsets a gay thing? If so, what makes it so? If not, what does liking sunsets mean?

Nature in general is gay. Anthropocentrism is where all the heteros are at.

Are you being facetious? I don't see how Anthropocentrism even relates to homo or heterosexuality.

Mildly. I was also playing on the use of "gay" as meaning "generally socially unacceptable."

Side: yes

A sunset is as gay as a day is long.... wait...., am I posting on the right side ;)

Yes, sunsets are HAPPY. :)

Plus, a lot of women like it when a man is confident in his manhood enough to like some things that are often considered "less manly", like watching a sunset whether you're alone, with other guys or with a girl.

All sunsets are of one gender, when they attempt to reproduce they then have to have sexual interaction with one another to reproduce. Therefore making them homosexual and, to use the modern american slang term, gay.

Unless you're using the term gay to mean feminizing, and that really depends on what the american media shows about it, sunsets no longer feature ith cowboys riding of into the distance but rather a new couple how want to do something romantic (feminine)together.

But I'ld rather accept "gay" for it's orginal, british meaning: Happy, which sunsets are, and that's why I put my argument on this side.

Side: yes

Don't worry about it, man. Sunsets are beautiful, and everyone knows it. Doesn't matter who you're with; you could be with your girlfriend, a group of guys, or even the guys from Brokeback Mountain, and unless you started having sex with a man, it wouldn't be gay. Your coworker is either ignorant, a monster for not liking sunsets, or, more likely than not, is simply lying, trying to look like a man. Now, if you don't mind, I've got a sunset to watch.

just trying to make a point. That a lot of people are too concerned with what society considers 'normal' that they are unable to tolerate people who change the paradigm. In my opinion, a real man is one who admits what he feels regardless of being looked at as a black sheep.

I find it very funny too, that this whole thing started with the same guy who feels compelled to invade my personal space and rub up against me pretending to be gay and then laughs as if he was just joking around.

I respect everybody. I don't mean to disrespect anybody but im shocked that someone would ask that. I think this question is stupid but im being ignorant. There are no stupid questions. I think it is ignorant to not ask a question when you have one.

Well with the above said, it is implied that you know where im going with this...I don't think sunsets are gay. Liking sunsets doesn't mean you are gay. Sunsets are beautiful. Liking something beautiful doesn't mean you are gay.

If you love how beautiful your child is, are you gay then? lol no.

Do homosexuals like sunsets? Sure. That doesn't logically mean that all straight people won't like sunsets.

Human beings love things that are beautiful. That is in our head. Programmed.

I guess in conclusion, liking sunsets don't make a person a homosexual. It is what makes them human.

Im not against homosexuality by the way. Love and respect everybody. :)

Oh I didnt know that sunset's have feelings? I thought it was just the sunsetting and stuff and now people think its happy!

Side: No

It's a simple matter of self-image. Those who are concerned how others think of them can be swayed to follow the stereotypes of what is 'manly' and what isn't.

Those who are concerned with living life to its fullest have a tendency to make those kinds of decisions for themselves.

In other words, you either decide whether it is by yourself, or you allow others to decide for you.
