I recognise that one of the most important alliances in the world is that between the mighty United States of America and the United Kingdom. Expressions of trivial national prejudice on debate forums or social media sites will never adversely affect this special relationship.

One more point worth remembering is that the English created and formulated the English language and we are delighted to let our American cousins and trusty allies use it as their own de-facto lingo and make whatever changes they feel necessary.

I only know a couple of Americanisms which are lousy and swell. I think lousy is swell but I find swell to be lousy.
