Assuming that abortion is bad, is it realistic to stop it?

The vast majority of debate on abortion is in the form of rhetoric, and ideological extremes. But, if we assume that abortion is bad, is it possible to significantly reduce its prevalence in society? Illegal abortion has happened throughout society, killing thousands of grown women. Can we stop this?

Any female that wants an abortion gets one million dollars if she doesn't abort and instead gives it up for adoption... other than that... probably not.

Not realistically. It has been "illegal" or at least frowned upon seriously, like Medieval seriously, for most of human history and it never lowered the percent of abortions by any significant percent, only increased the number of girls dying trying to get one in dirty places by shifty "doctors"
