Ban smoking in the streets, parks and etc.

Should we ban smoking in public places, or rather everywhere: in parks, streets, etc?

Smoking harms the smoker and the people walking past the smoker. The environmemt is also effected. It should be banned. If people want to smoke they should to it at their own homes or gardens. Also smoking publicly may give a bad message to children.

Smoking is bad for you and you shouldn't have to breath in the smoking stuff that other people are smoking at. Smoking can lead to lung and tongue cancer because of too much smoking. I have no idea why people smoke when they know the whats going to happen to there bodies. Also when you smoke you look a lot older.

Outside Air is a public resource, no one should have the right to foul it up for others like what cigarettes do.

Factories should also fall under air quality restrictions as well, since the quality of the air can affect much in an area, especially health.

With that logic then we should also ban cars too. But no one is suggesting that.

Na, cars should have quality restrictions.

There should be no issue with people using the electronic cigarettes in public.

My argument doesn't support a ban on cars, just that air quality should be protected since as a public resource no one has exclusive rights to it, and since good quality air is essential to health the government has the ability to ensure the public resource is preserved for the healthy enjoyment of all.

I support the idea of banning smoking in public places, because people who do not smoke are breathe with the polluted air, and almost everybody know that smoking causes cancer, emphysema, and heart disease; that it can shorten your life by 10 years or more; and that the habit can cost a smoker thousands of dollars a year.

i think sigaretes shoul be baned in public places because it is harmfull for people who did not smoke. Also passive smoking it is twice effect on helth then person who somke. People who did not smoke more suffering from perosons who smoke if they spend long periods of time among people who do smoke.

in my opinion world would be better without cigaretess.

yes, we it should be banned by government. in our country we have such law not to smoke in public places.. but, nobody keep the law and continue to smoke... I think government should make the law more strict. Smoking is very harmful, and also more harmful for those people, who stay near person who smoke... think about it...

Far more dangerous in the public areas are cars.

If you really wish to save lives, ban cars from streets, parks, etc.

Smoking harms the smoker with each inhalation. Additionally, it hurts those around the smoker, or at least within close proximity to the smoker. Cars, on the other hand, are only harmful under certain scenarios, and relatively rarely (compared to the amount of times someone does not get killed/injured in a car accident) does a car actually hurt or kill someone. I think that sentence makes sense. In other words, this is a false comparison.

Smoking in public affects more than just the smoker, and therefore it violates others' liberties by forcing that person to be subjected to someone else's actions unwillfully. If someone is allergic to tobacco, and someone decides to light up next to them, this person is suddenly put in a quite real danger, besides what most people would consider rude or an inconvenience.

I may be biased here because I've recently started smoking and have been trying to justify it lol But we're all going to die from something. And people have been smoking for years upon years. I say let it be. It's easy to step a little away from someone who's lighting up...

As an ex smoker I find the smoking disgusting. As an American I believe that every person has a right to smoke if they want to.
