Benito Mussollini not sounding very Conservative
Benito Mussolini-
It was inevitable that I should become a Socialist ultra, a Blanquist, indeed a communist. I carried about a medallion with Marx’s head on it in my pocket. I think I regarded it as a sort of talisman… [Marx] had a profound critical intelligence and was in some sense even a prophet.
As quoted in Talks with Mussolini , Emil Ludwig, Boston, MA, Little, Brown and Company (1933) p. 38. Interview between March 23 and April 4, 1932, at the Palazzo di Venezia in Rome [1]

I like this fallacy Bronto. You use this one a lot. The reason it's so amusing is because it requires the complete rejection of the principles of time and change. Some more examples are:- A) When you attack Democrats because they used to (i.e. a century ago) be supported by the KKK. You inevitably do this whenever anyone points out that your party is presently being supported by the KKK. B) When you accuse white supremacist Jason Kessler of being a liberal because he once voted for Obama in his teens. The Mussolini example is another good one, of course. You ignore that Mussolini literally invented fascism, and instead pretend he was a socialist because as a teenager he joined the socialist party. Of course, you're not so forthcoming with the information that Mussolini was literally kicked out of the socialist party for not being a socialist. You keep that one to yourself because, well, that's the kind of thing lying little Nazis do. Side: Well well well
The Mussolini example is another good one, of course. You ignore that Mussolini literally invented fascism No. He invented Fascism. He also told us how much he loved Marx. Put that one together in your mind the next time you reference fascist identity politics. Side: What do we have here?
He also told us how much he loved Marx. Put that one together in your mind That isn't difficult for anybody with any integrity or education to understand. Marx's theory of Communism hypothesises a transition period from capitalism in which the state must redistribute economic assets. This provides the perfect political framework for someone like Mussolini or Hitler to take over and run the state as a permanent one party dictatorship. I'm not surprised Mussolini praised Marx, because Marx gave him all the intellectual excuses he needed to seize power for himself. Side: Well well well
