Best organisation to help you out of debt

In the UK and I guess, the US and the rest of the world, you can either go to a debt help company or a charity for help and a possible debt solution. What I think isn't understood is that charities get funding via donations from the people we owe money. This gives them leverage. The companies charge fees but good old capitalism keeps them competitive. Which one would you choose?

Lets use the government to solve all of our problems.

The purpose of this restriction is to cut down on the amount of dumb jokes, so we can keep the quality of debate and discourse as high as possible.

Assuming a debt help charity is free of charge, I'll say go for this option. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me that someone in debt and wanting out is required to pay even more money (which they don't have) just to get help, that even isn't always useful. So, ya, go for the charity, even though I've never heard of this before. I went for books and built my own strategy to get out.

Dave Ramsey books is what I would use but charities would be the better option here I believe.
