It was at one point, and still is if by "best" you mean most widely played and brings in the most sales. However from the viewpoint of someone whos played it from its grass roots through today, it is in the shit hole. It was good from its roots through MW2, when the real infinity ward was running the show and actually cared about producing a fun, fast paced, honest game for their true fans appealing to the skilled cod community. However after the Activision scandal everything went downhill. Those cocksucking parasitic money whores tore infinity ward apart causing 2/3 of the crew to quit, its now replaces by activision chosen developers and is a disaster. They dont give 2 shits about producing quality and only care about quantity, knowing that every addict theyve reeled in over the years will buy it again and again and again. MW3 was okay, then black ops 2 came out and was absolute shit. And it all peaked with ghosts. clearly geared towards 12 year olds this call of duty sports the worst spawn system, maps, lag, weapon balance, and all around appeal of any cod to date. Its practically unplayable on the 360 and barely playable on the xbox one. i could go into more detail but anyone whos played it already knows what i mean. The series is dying. Its no longer revolutionary and brings nothing different to the FPS table. New games like titanfall and battlefield, sporting revolutionary graphics, movement, objectives, weapons, playstyles, and more will stomp it out of existence. 1

The graphics engine hasnt changed at all. and honestly ghost's graphics are a step backwards in my opinion. theyre bland and washed out unlike the vibrant MW2 and even BO2. Each game usually sports at least 25% of guns from past games and another 25% are re-hashes of previous guns. For instance the k7...its the m5. and from BO2 youre telling me the PDW wasnt the p90? Cmon. Im not saying this is a bad thing, guns are guns and you cant really change them that much. Sure theres a new story every time and im actually one who likes cod storylines unlike most of my friends. However as time progresses the stories get worse and worse. COD4 through MW3 was an amazing storyline. You actually get to connect with the characters and grow attached to them as well as the enemies. You actually HATE the enemy and crave the satisfaction of killing them. It was a storyline that you get emotionally invested in. However the BO storyline didnt have that. The characters were underdeveloped and the storyline was just plain bad. The first game didnt even make sense the first time through and for the longest time i couldnt even discern who was the badguy. At the end when you kill dragovich i was like "meh, well thats that". They didnt build him up at all and you only ever see him once or twice. His motives arent even clear until the end. Ghosts is the worst cod campaign to date and makes it clear that activision doesnt give a shit about it anymore. Absolutely zero effort went into developing the storyline. The characters are bland and underdeveloped, the storyline is hard to follow at times, and the fucking exposition through cutscenes inbetween levels fucking pissed me off. They TOLD you a story, instead of letting you experience it for yourself. instead of BECOMING the story you feel like youre watching from the sidelines. absolutely horrible. It's not the best video games series as of right now. It was good back when it was CoD4 to MW3. Right now it's just really crappy. Ghost has ruined CoD. I am most likely not going to get the next one. Going to be borrowing it from a friend and seeing gameplay before deciding on actually getting it. 1
