In a world without a government, there would be a lack of many crucial things. First things first, there would be a major resources deficit, because the government regulates and indirectly provides clean water and safe food.

Due to the lack of fresh water, populations would congregate around natural springs and underground, self-filtering sources. Unless people were able to organize themselves enough to provide a reliable water-cleaning service, those natural springs would deplete almost instantly as water usage rates surpassed the rate at which the sources fill. Imagine an entire town using only one or two small wells.

Okay, so finally we as a population have gotten the water issue sorted out. There are big water "companies" who filter the water for us that aren't affiliated with any higher powers. Great! But what about food? At first, most of the population would attempt to resort to agriculture to support themselves. Unfortunately, artificial pesticides and fertilizer that everyone used to rely on are now no longer good, as there are no more regulations. That means that as far as the common people are concerned, the creators of those products can put whatever they want in their products to make them cheaper and easier to make. Eventually, people would either learn to rely on homemade, natural pesticides and fertilizers or start borrowing from the neighbors. Honestly, most would start to rely on neighbors and a farmers' market system would evolve to provide food for small communities.

We've now got two issues resolved, if even that. We've built their solutions on a very delicate balance that could tip at any point; they could tip at one single error. And in a world of 7 billion+ people, that's bound to happen. This balance is called trust.

With a government, we are able to trust the systems that keep us alive. Without one, we have to rely on the morals of every single person. As a race in general, we can't do that. We have to be united under a common leader to maintain sanity. So by saying anarchy is something you want, you're saying you'd be able to trust every single person on the planet to help keep you, your family, and your friends alive. Because one person can't provide everything they need for themselves; we clearly aren't solitary creatures. Even in the earliest stages of humanity, we lived in groups that everyone helped to maintain.

By requiring certain things and putting forth regulations, a government creates a near infallible trust system. And if we somehow did fall to anarchy, we'd end up creating small groups with a general leader, and before we know it, we'll have a government once again.

i truly agree with the statement here. i do believe that if the world really didn't have a government then we would be at a deficit. we would begin to face problems in the world. That being said can relate to what you said in the response with the world not having a government. i support what you said here and believe that the world would fall apart if there was no government

i truly agree with the statement here. i do believe that if the world really didn't have a government then we would be at a deficit. we would begin to face problems in the world.

So rather than govern yourself and your own behaviour you feel it necessary to hand that power to a total stranger? You claim that without government we would "begin to face problems", but is it not true that we still face problems with a government? If you have not experienced life without government then you cannot objectively state one condition brings any more problems than the other.

I believe people want government because they are either too afraid or too lazy to deal with the realities of life themselves, and because it gives them someone to blame when their life goes wrong. Naturally, this attracts the opposite kind of person to positions of power -- those who do not shy away from life. Unfortunately, since these people are in no way obligated to follow your own moral code, or even their own consciences, it frequently leads to society willingly handing inordinate quantities of power to complete psychopaths. The list of unbalanced and pathologically genocidal world leaders which have existed throughout history is enormous. To conclude, it is in many ways your belief they they were necessary, since all of them could have been avoided if people were simply prepared to govern themselves.

I support this argument because it goes specifically into what may happen without government, they use history to support their claims, and they find a way to relate it back to every single person as an individual. The person was very clear and stated the more direct consequences that no government would have on people and their resources, even their way of life. They used history to show that in the beginning of human existence people needed each other in order to stay healthy and sane. Lastly, they realized that every one must rely on each other and have trust. It is almost impossible to let your life rely on someone you barely know, let alone a ton of complete strangers. We, as people, need systems to keep some sort of reason to trust those that in some way provide for us, even if it means they are paid to do so. Therefore, I believe this person made very important predictions and did a great job in doing so because it all felt personal and relatable. When an essay or written assignment it is easier to agree with if it can be personal related to the audience, which it was.

I completely agree with this statement with living under a government. I do believe that if the world did not live under a government it would cause chaos. I also agree with the water and food problems listed. If we didn't live with a government food and water would not be sorted properly. I support fully on what you have said and I do believe that the world would go into confusion and chaos if we did not live under a government.

Side: Live Under a Government

i agree with this statement as well because lots of people would not know what to do which would make the country very chaotic. Also the country would probably split because their would be no government holding us together. And many people would start to steal because their is no consequence and people will stop doing their job and then the jobs we really need like doctors will stop doing work and it will be very chaotic.

The government exists to provide essential services. Right now, for example, the National Weather Service and the National Hurricane Center are following Hurricane Florence. Who would fund and launch the satellites that make weather forecasting possible if not for government? And who would have the plans for evacuating? As millions of people evacuate, police, fire and emergency people are ready to make sure the evacuation is quick and safe. The Government helps this effort. State and local governments maintain the roads that the evacuation will use. Along with that, if there was no Government, how would we have access to clean water and who would make sure our food was safe?

Many people don't like taxes, but taxes fund all the things that keep us safe.

Also, if there was no government, people would be fighting over power, making up their own rules and there would be no order of society. With a government, there is order. There are procedures for settling arguments. Also, with a government, there is education so people have a set plan in their life, school, and work. Without this, everything would be a mess.

Side: Live Under a Government
1 point

I agree with this statement and the reasons listed as to why we need a government. To add to the points of evacuation, some people would be able to eascape the hurricane ahead, if they had enough resources and money. But others would be left behind, because they are unaware, cannot leave their home (possibly their most valuable asset), and do not have the ability to leave. In addition, after a natural disaster, no one will be there to help and fund the rebuild of the devastation. Water is a necessity to all humans and without the insurance of its safety, how would we survive? Violence would erupt, because there are no more rules and officers to keep people safe. The future generation would not be able to fix this problem, because people would not want to change. And they would not be educated enough to be able to run a government. The line etween the rich and poor would become more defined, and people would lose their sense of security.

Side: Live Under a Government

I agree with your statement. Without the government civilization would be at risk with the most day to day tasks. This could extend from driving to natural disasters, such as, as you stated, Hurricane Florence. We would not have the safety of our police force and firefighters to assist us to evacuation. Supplies would most likely run low due to shoplifting and robbery, and families would starve. I also agree with your statement of people fighting for power. Eventually, it would become teritorial and families could risk being seperated.

Side: Live Under a Government

I completely agree with this statement. Without the government we wouldn't be safe. I didn't think about how people would constantly be fighting about power, and wanting to have their rules be the correct ones, but i think that's such a great point. I also didn't state that there wouldn't be clean water or safe food, but thats so true.

As fun as not having to go to school would be, who would be the doctors who keep us healthy be? Without government, we wouldn't even know if the doctor would even be telling the truth if they actually knew what they were doing. One of the things I agreed with most is your last sentence. Without government, "everything would be a mess" .

Side: Live Under a Government

I highly agree with this response. We basically need the the government to help our every day lives out. Its all the simple things like food, clean water, sanitation, keeping everything in order and even just the weather forecast. I feel as if majority of people have never stopped and thought about the beneficial aspects of government. If there was no government, you'd have to find your own job in a private business. There would be absolutely no stability, everything would shriek in havoc. As well as taxes, we don't just pay taxes for no reason at all. We pay them for what we have. We pay them for what the country needs help with. Its really not that bad of a thing. But without government, where would the education be coming from? Education is what makes plenty of us successful. Overall, we absolutely need government.

Side: Live Under a Government

I agree with this claim. The government never stops working for the people and keeping them informed along with providing important assistance. The balance of taxes enables the government to do so. I also agree that the government is important to give us emergency relief funds for disasters such as this hurricane. I would also like to add to your second point about fighting for power. If there were no rules, again, there would be no balance/order.

Side: Live Under a Government

i agree with this heavily because without the water supply the population will heavily decrease. Also we would need to somehow get food do we wouldnt starve. Also the systems would have to stop because of the governments decline. The massive decline in government will cause a abundant amount of decrease in the population. i belive this is an accurate statement in why we need the government

Side: Live Under a Government

I agree with this statement. Without a government there are jobs that people don't really think about that wouldn't get done. No one would want to be a trash collector but these jobs are necessary to keep the world sanitary. Also without a government it would be every man for themselves. The government looks after its people and tries to create the best living conditions for them. Without that people would turn against each other to survive.

Side: Live Under a Government

I agree with your argument because if we didn't have a government we wouldn't have resources we would need. We have clean fresh water and food. Also there would be a lot of chaos and violence in the worlds without a government.

I agree about this statement because we truly would have difficulty surviving on this old fashion way of living. history has proven that there have been mishaps by only getting your food through agriculture. governments do "creates a near infallible trust system" because we all have something that we could be working toward. everyone has morals and things we can and can not do as citizens in this world.

I fully support your views on this topic for many reasons. First of all like you said there would be a lack of crucial things. Those are the crucial things that allow our society to properly work. Also our lives would be much scarier because when we would eat we wouldn’t know if that food would kill us because of the lack of regulations. Also everything would be chaos because human are used to having a leader without one we would be lost. All in all I support your reasoning and I believe we should live under a government.

Side: Live Under a Government

At the end of the day, it is evident that government is necessary. Therefore, I would prefer to live under a government rather than without one at all. Personally, I see several reasons as to why it would be better to live with a government in existence. For example, if none was in place, people would not be guaranteed the most basic of human rights. One would not have the right to his or her freedom of speech, nor the right to a secure person (prevention of unreasonable searches) or fair punishment. There would be no regulation of human behavior, allowing people to act in whatever manner they choose. This would surely lead to massive imbalances and problems, as it would be likely that even the simplest of interpersonal conflicts would not be resolved justly and with peace. Having no government would limit overall productivity of society to almost nothing, as people would ignore the effort of bettering society and simply focus on forwarding their own agendas. Finally, I would prefer to live with a ruling government because there are several jobs that need to be completed consistently in order to keep civilization running smoothly. These include the crucial jobs such as making sure there is a supply of clean water and educating the youth. Tasks like these would not get done if there was no government, further proving the necessity of having one. Overall, I would strongly prefer to live under a government rather than without it.

At the end of the day, it is evident that government is necessary.

Completely false. It is the opposite of evident, given that plenty of tribes still exist throughout the world which do not have a government.

What you actually do when you elect a government is give other people power over you in exchange for the illusion of safety/security.

Do you realize how many things the government provides for you on a daily basis? You would not be here if it were not for a government. So many jobs that nobody really wants to do are done by the government: the people who keep the water safe, people who keep the streets clean, people who regulate education.

And sure, those tribes can thrive without a government, but that's due to their size. For a country as large as America, a government is necessary to keep everyone in check; there is so much diversity in peoples opinions, practices, and so many possible "immoral" acts that at the end of the day, you'd probably be a murder victim without a government. Good luck living in a world where people can act on any desire, as many people's desires are not necessarily to your benefit.

Indeed. You are correct in saying that tribes exist today. However, these tribes all have governments whether it is obvious or not. Each tribe has a leader or has leaders, and the society are run by them. This in itself is still government, though it is an extremely basic monarchy. A land without government is essentially non-existant in today’s world. All major countries, tribes, and groups of people are governed whether you realize it or not.

Side: Live Under a Government

I agree with the arguments that you made towards why a government is necessary. If we did not have a government humans would react in negative ways towards the smallest inconveniences that did not go their way, and violence would break out since there would be no laws preventing it. I agree with your statement that not having a government would cause productivity to decrease. If we did not have a government, we would not have a need for money, so people would not feel the need to work because they would be getting no reward for their labor. Without a government our society would become worse, instead of moving in a positive direction.

in my honest opinion i strongly believe that the government is a must have when it comes to a economy and or country. If the united states or really in general just any country didn't have any type of government there would so much more war, crime and loss of jobs.

With the topic of the government i do believe that if there was no government in the united states there would be lots of more war. wither its outside or inside the country i believe that it would spark controversy with people beliefs and religion. which then could divide the country and would lead to people to attack others.

Another reason that i believe that we need the government in America is to keep the crime rate down. if the government didn't exist in America the crime rate would go up in a very small amount of time which could cause lots of death in many different areas in America. This could aslo lead to more people being jailed if say someone had assaulted someone or had don't something along those lines.

Tieing in with the crime rate going up this could be caused by people losing their jobs without the government. Lets say, If almost everyone in America had lost their jobs then what would happen? My guess is that lots of people would lose lots of money with people not paying certain bills at that point, which could then lead people to go homeless, depending on their job.

With that being said if America didn't have the government to keep it together it would fall apart in a small amount of time.

Side: Live Under a Government

I agree wholeheartedly with your statement but i also think that this can apply to any other countries not just america. I also appreciate the idea that government assists in keeping crime down by enforcing laws and funding services like the police force, CIA, FBI, and many more. The point of governments stopping wars is also a good point to bring into the spotlight as the cooperation of governments assists in bringing nations and cultures together.

Side: Live Under a Government

I believe it is crucial to live underneath a governing system, despite the few drawbacks included with some of its policies. When an area of land has no government no one is paid to do their jobs properly or at all, for that matter. The food from farms might no longer be produced without harmful pesticides or for the people's consumption, but only for the benefit of the farmer. Secondly, the people will no longer be educated or experienced, due to lack of students attending schools, the teachers would no longer attend school, and the school will not be maintained in its present, sanitary and safe state. Also, the land waste would begin to build up because the government is not paying any one to clean up and remove all of the waste. Another reason government is necessary is that there will not be any people to enforce the no longer existent laws and rules, making the world a place that is not safe for children and adults. Robberies of homes would normally result in imprisonment, but with no government there is no way to keep criminals off of the streets. When criminals are allowed to do whatever they please, it may teach children or let others realize that they are also not given the much needed consequences. When money is being stolen constantly, it will begin to lose its value and people with resort to stealing or bartering, which is a way of the past, meaning we would be going back and not progressing as humans are born to do. The government may be restricting to some, but it has benefits that are often overlooked and allows us to be in a safe and healthy environment.

Side: Live Under a Government

This is well put. Having no government in place would surely lead to crucial jobs for the benefit of society not getting done. Education of future generations would become less consistent, leading to a regression in our thinking and slowing down advancements in math and the sciences. We would also not be fulfilling our responsibility of taking care of the planet, as many services such as trash collection and water/waste management would likely not happen. If there was no government, the few corrupt individuals in existence would have more of a significant impact on the rest of society. People would tend to grow more self-centered instead of being focused on the betterment of mankind. Quality of life would worsen overall, which is why I agree with wanting to live under a governement rather than without one at all.

Side: Live Under a Government

Personally I would live under a government rather then living without one. Having a Government keeps everything in a country under control. Government establishes a justice system that protects civilans and their rights. Also gorvernments provides education, protection, laws, and many other things that would be hard to get without assistance. Without a government their would be no prison or police to protect citizens so crime rates without a government would increase rapidly. Hospitals have federal regulations as well and without Hospital regulations, death and sickness would be increased. Insurance has regulations too, if there wasn't any then Insurance companies could be very unprofessional. Roads are provided by the government because the government pays for the roads to be built. Money and Banks comes from the government and without them all our resources would be harder to get and, we wouldn't have anywhere safe to store our money. Without government we wouldn't have rights or anyone to watch over the country to keep it safe and protect us as citizens. In, conslusion I support living with a government because without one our lives would be much harder and dangerous then they are today.

Side: Live Under a Government

I strongly agree with this statement. When we live under a government we have stability, structure, and so much safety. We always have laws and people looking after us to keep us protected. We have the police department and military protection here to help whenever it is necessary. Although, once the government is removed all that goes away and no one is there to keep our country safe anymore. The crime would be out of control and everyone would live in fear. There would be no laws to keep people in control and nobody to punish them whenever they break one.

Side: Live Under a Government

I believe that living with a government is more necessary than living without a government. Personally I see chaos in living without a government from evidence that shows living without a government would bring chaos. For example if we lived without a government there would be no laws. If we did not have laws there would be alot of confusion going around. For example, if there are no laws people can do whatever they want and no one would care. In my opinion if we did not have any laws a lot of outbreaks of fights would happen. If many fights would happen then many citizens would get injured. As you can see without a government one problem would lead to the next problem. In conclusion, I would prefer to live with a government because without a government it would cause to much confusion. Also I believe that governments provide safety and without one there would be no safety and to much disorganization.

Side: Live Under a Government

Living under a government is frowned upon by some people, but it has many benefits. One major benefit is safety, they provide things such as police force, ambulances, and firetrucks. Without government things like murder and theft would be a daily sight. A society with constant crime and chaos is not a place to grow up. Another benefit of living under a government is a developed economy. Things like imports and exports help boost our economy. Without our government we wouldn't be the worlds leading superpower. Government allows us to vote for what we want. Without government sanitation would be minuscule and sewer systems wouldn't be a thing. Lastly education would be a thing only for the rich from private tutors.

I disagree with your argument. Although it is true that government provides police forces, ambulances, and firetrucks; these services could still exist without government. The only difference is that without government, these would be ran privately and thus funded privately. I another disagreement I have with you argument is that you state a developed economy is a benefit of living under a government. There are many governments that do not have developed economies; for example, much of Africa and South America. Next, sanitation and sewer systems would still exist without government so long as there is a large enough demand for it. Same goes for education: private schools would still exist, probably even cheaper than how it is now given there is a large enough demand for it.

I would rather live in a world with a government rather than one without. When you think of government many things may come to your head like, laws, taxes, school and many other subjects. Now, these may seem like bad things and you may think that you want total freedom, but is that really a good decision? Think about if we had no taxes. For example, without taxes we wouldn’t have child health insurance and our education system wouldn’t be as advanced. Laws also are a huge part of our everyday lives. Some people may not agree with every law, but they are meant to protect us and our rights. Without laws I believe the world wouldn’t be a safe or enjoyable place. Last, schooling is very important and key to our everyday lives and future. Without schooling we wouldn’t have a basic knowledge or understanding of how the world works. All in all, I would rather live with a government, because I believe government holds a society together.

Having a government is crucial in a country's success. Governments provide a structure in which is universally understood throughout the country. A great example of this structure is through laws. If their were no laws in an anti government country, there would be chaos. Along with laws, governments also provide many other things such as public safety, educational systems and a military. These services along with many more exist because of the social contract theory. When governments distribute power it ensures stability of the state because not one person is making the decisions. Who wouldn't want to be protected by a military and given vital resources? Finally, governments when done right can positively impact a country economically and socially. However, when done wrong, governments can strip away freedom, rights and privacy. All in all, having a government is a crucial aspect of running a country.

I agree with your claim because government helps keep our country stable. The idea of structure is very important because that is a crucial role of our government. The mention of military protection is also very important as that is provided from our government. To add the economics impact is important as they control currency and business rules. They also protect our rights.

I completely agree with your claim that a government is crucial in the success of a country. You made a valid point that the social contract theory creates stability because there is not just one leader in control. Furthermore I also agree with your point that laws ensure that there will be stability and not chaos. The rule of law also helps to ensure equality because all people should be equal by law. I agree that through its power to raise an army and it's police power, government is the only institution empowered to protect people from foreign enemies and violence in our country.

I completely agree with your statement. I strongly agree that if there were no laws then it would be complete chaos among the people. Also, I agree that the government gives us a strong security and makes us feel safe within our own country. Another statement of yours that I support is that governments provide many crucial; aspects to our life and how we develop such as education/school. All in all, I agree with your statement and am with you that a government is needed to sustain a good and healthy life.

Side: Live Under a Government

I believe that government is a important part of human life and safe living. First off without the proper defense of the government the world and our nation would be in a constant power struggle. Also, without the proper electrical, water, sewage, and heat people would not be able to trust or have reliable heat and power sources. This would throw off every ones life because having to locate clean water in an over populated area could be a real struggle. Without the governments help of protection the valuable resources would become priceless. This could lead to skirmishes or wars over these resources. Also, having laws and regulations help keep a safe environment and air for people living in that area. With all the anarchy and turmoil health care would be very hard to find and result in many deaths. The world would become focused on violence and survival of the fittest. If you are the fittest then this could be good but the average person would struggle. All of these reasons would result in anarchy and fallout of nations around the world.

Side: Live Under a Government
1 point

I agree entirely. Of course, some people would survive without government, but the average person wouldn't. Not only does the government help provide for everyone, but when things like water, electrical and heating are taken care of, we are able to focus on other things. With the government, we can explore science and art and technology. We don't just want to survive, but we also want to put energy into other things. With the government, there is a safe place where we can learn and grow without having to worry about a boatload of things that the government provides for us.

Side: Live Under a Government

I agree with your statement. Without a government, clean water would be difficult to regulate and distribute. I also agree that bigger conflicts would break out over smaller issues. Health care would definitely be hurt. This would most likely lead to anarchy and chaos, as you said.

Side: Live Under a Government

The two sided argument surrounding the need for government is long debated but presumably there is one clear answer. The government is needed for many crucial things. Firstly, everything is regulated meaning without government there would be no FDA or EPA. The lack of these would pose the obvious reason which would be food could be contaminated along with drugs and water. Which leads to medicine and government funded healthcare. This is very important because without the annual checks and vaccines the Us would become disease infested and wouldn't have any regulatory pharmaceuticals to fix the issue. Thirdly we wouldn't have the basic protection of the military which would knock us off as being a very prominent and powerful country. Fourthly there would be no taxes meaning no government funded education, roadwork ect. Also an anarchy would bring the crime rate very high and we wouldn't have a law system. Lastly a government runned world isn't always better but in the case of democracy it is.

Side: Live Under a Government

I agree with your statement completely. Without the government, sicknesses would become more frequent and more dangerous. Simple illnesses that would normally be treatable, would become extremely infectious diseases that would harm many. Although medicines and drugs would still be available, the missing regulations could cause them to do more harm to the user than help, possibly making things worse. Plus, doctors would no longer be employed and trusted by the government, so the illness may be left unknown for a long period of time. Independent doctors could be untrustworthy and not know what they are doing because of lack of education. Thankfully we have a government today to help keep medicines regulated and sicknesses not as dangerous as they could be.

I believe government is necessary as it provides the structure for managing the affairs of people. Laws ensure citizens will be safe and teach people that there are consequences to unlawful actions. Laws also create a fair opportunity for everyone to have the chance to be successful. The government levies taxes so schools can be supported to provide everyone with a high school education. The government also establishes scholarships and financial aid to help take care of those in need of extra financial support pertaining to higher education like college or graduate school. Labor laws, such as minimum wage, ensure that hard labor is awarded. The government also has shelters and food stamps for those in poverty who cannot sustain themselves. Without a government many would suffer from extreme poverty and not have the same opportunities as others. Most importantly, government also allows citizens to vote for who we want to represent our country. Each citizen has their own right to vote as they choose no matter who they are, what they look like, or where they come from. Overall, government is necessary because it sets a foundation for equality and opportunity.

Side: Live Under a Government

Living under a government is important because the government provides many things that help the community as a whole. First, the government provides both protection from outside sources but also keeps order within the country. Although some people can "fend for themselves" we can recognize that in order for everyone in a community to survive a protection force in necessary. The government protects the country during times of war and everyday acts of injustice. Second, the government provides a system that ensures justice will be served for those crimes. It is responsible for stopping crimes and locking up the people who commit them. Third, the government provides an education system. This allows it's citizens to acquire jobs and participate in being productive members of society. Last, the government also helps provide for the general needs of the country: paving roads, health care, post offices and more. Without the government, not only would there be a lacking in community, which humans need but there would also be many other gaps in the well being of the lives of many people.

Government is necessary because they help keep our live safe. They create and enforce laws. This helps so people do just roam wild doing whatever they want. That can be very dangerous as if they wanted to hurt someone there would be nothing holding them back. Also with a government we can use currency. Money makes trade and simple exchange much simpler. Also they keep peace among the general public. Simple things that are taken for granted like water or street signs, stop lights and roads. Also services like the fire department help you when you have a problem. Finally something that is major is that government controls our affairs with other countries so we do not have to worry about those problems

To live under a government means you have access to public services, have protection, and live in an organized society. The public services that the government offers are as followed; education, road repair, waste removal, and many others. Without these services, society would not funiction properly. The government also offers protection from foreign threats. The armed forces are working around the clock fighting threats to our safety. If we didn’t have government to provide the armed forces, our country’s safety would be in jeopardy. Lastly government gives us a sense of order. They are the ones who make laws and enforce them so we can live in a world where we have lawful rights. If we didn’t have a government, then crime rates would go up and people won’t have their rights to live by. These are my reasons why it is better to live under a government.

I honestly believe that living under a government is the best way to go. I think this because it is kind of unreal to how much the government does for us and the government just effects us in ways we don’t even know. I feel that without the government here to keep everything organized and as peaceful as they can that the world would just turn into absolute chaos and there just would be a continuous greed for control and power over others, it’s just in human nature. Think about it for a second would you rather live in a government and have rules and a more organized way of living where people can actually pursue what they want in life. Or would you rather live with always having to worry about growing crops or taking care of cattle or even other basic needs of living as a human being. The way society is now is just a lot easier on the people and just it wouldn’t be good if you had other people just walking around doing whatever. Murder rates would jump up significantly and crime in general would and no one would be there to stop it or even help the situation. We also would not have any education at all which wouldn’t help at all. The age expectancy for a human would also most likely drop as well and the smallest sicknesses could have the possibility to kill millions. We just overall as a society would be better off if we lived in a society where the government exists.

While there are certainly downsides to having a government, it has been proven to be necessary in a world with so many different people living together. The taxes that they collect from us as disliked as they are mostly go towards the benefit of the majority in things like repaving roads and bettering the community as a whole. Without a government there would be no police force there to help those who need it if they are in danger. In the event that you are seriously hurt and need a doctor that person could easily be a fraud seeing as there is no government there to make sure they're certified. Going further off that thought there is no FDA to ensure food safety to make sure that the food and drugs you purchase are safe and still edible. Finally since there are no more traffic laws being help it is that much easier to get into a serious accident.

A government is absolutely necessary because without one the world would be in utter chaos. Everyone would be in danger and there would be little to no resources needed to survive. There would be no doctors or schools. There would be no protective services such as police or the military. These reasons are good pieces of evidence to prove that we need a government.

I believe that it is important to live under a government. Government is needed, because it creates a sense of order and organization that is needed to keep our country stable. By having a government, everyone is able to be kept safe by the creation of laws, which allows and permits people from doing certain things. If we did not have laws, everyone would be free to do whatever they pleased, which would create a state of chaos. The chaos created by a world without a government would be inevitable, because certain people would attempt to gain power and have control over the other people living in the country. Government helps prevent this, by splitting up power between different branches, such as the legislative and executive branches. If we did not have a government there would be no one to make the major decisions for our country's future and the people living in it. The government makes decisions for the country that they believe will be in the best interest of the people. If we did not have a government, the amendments would not be in place, and we would not have our rights, such as freedom of speech. Along with this, if we did not have a government, we would lose the idea of equality of all persons, and everyone would be treated differently. A world without government would be a lot more dangerous, because there would be fights over land and materials, and anyone could own any weapons they chose and could use them at any time. In conclusion, a government is needed in order to keep the country and the people safe, and to protect everyone's individual rights, as well as protect the future of the country.

I agree with your statements in regard to believing that a government in necessary to keep order and stability. Without a government things would get chaotic, when there is nobody to help prevent the United States from going absolutely crazy. I agree that laws are needed to help keep people in line, even though the rules are broken quite often. If the process of owning homes and land did not exist people would possibly fight to the death for the shelter. The government does help keep everybody's rights and help protect the country.

Very well put, there are many reasons why we need government. With organization comes infrastructure and a stable system of laws. Without government there would only be “unwritten rules,” or just being polite. While covering anarchy you also talked about equality and distribution of power. All great reasons why we should live with a government. Living without a government would be impractical and very sketchy.

I believe all people should live under a structured government but it must be one that is agreed on by all the people. Without a government, there will be chaos and it will be unsafe. Governments protect people's rights and property. By making and enforcing laws, governments stop or punish people who steal, kill or take away the rights of others. Another benefit of having a government is protection from other countries' militaries. The government can provide soldiers to keep people safe from invasions. Governments also can help people and communities that need jobs and money. Welfare programs and jobs provided by the government help individuals and the economy. It is important though that the government represents all people. It should not be a dictatorship or monarchy where people can't vote. Everyone should have a say either directly or through elected representatives. Also the government needs to be set up so its power won't get out of control. Without government there is no order to society. There are too many people who will not respect the rights of others without laws and punishments made by an authority, and society needs the help government provides in this way and many other ways.

A nation without a government is one that is difficult for someone who has always lived under one to imagine. This can make it hard to truly envision what the outcome of this scenario would be. Though it may sound good in theory, an ungoverned state would eventually result in chaos and disarray. If the United States were to do away with its governing body, many things would change. We would no longer have parameters for what is and isn’t allowed. Any act that would previously result in legal repercussions would now have no official consequence. This would increase the frequency of crime, and in turn cause individuals to inflict their own punishments on those who they feel have acted unjustly. With no set definition of what constitutes an illegal act and no set consequence for one such act, the crime would rarely, if ever, fit the punishment. Along with this lack of crime prevention, businesses and corporations would also not be regulated. The minimum wage would be done away with, and there would be no limits on prices or working conditions. Workers would be underpaid and overworked, even more than they are now. The rich would become richer, and the poor would become poorer. Along with this, those living in poverty would no longer receive financial support. Though our current government is flawed, to completely do away with it would be a significant over-correction.

I believe that living under a government is a good thing for many reasons. For one, having a government provides many leadership opportunities to the people. Many governments lets almost all of it's citizens run for a government position. Also, in a democracy, everyone's opinions are heard and spoken. This can happen in either and Representative Democracy,or in a Direct Democracy. Also, governments also provide many services such as law enforcement. If there was no government, there would be no qualified people to enforce the rules. Governments also make laws and public policies. Neither of these would exist in a world without a government. That is why living under a government is better than living without one.

I agree with your statement because our government allows the freedom of speech and the opportunity to express our views. We have the freedom to strike if we do not believe an action is just or just to express what should be taken under consideration for new changes. Anyone could run for government positions if the regulations are met. If there wasn't a government no one would want to respect the law if there weren't any punishments. Our country would fall into chaos because people wouldn't show up to jobs if they didn't have to pay their bills and the worth of money would decrease causing starvation and crimes. In conclusion, our government is needed to keep our protection and rights in place.

I believe that we should live under a government because it would be chaos if we did not. The government may not give us complete freedom but they do take care of society and allow us to live in peace. If there was no government, there would be wars and riots constantly. This could be dangerous and many people would fight to survive. Also, none of the food will be checked for bacteria or diseases so eating anything would be a risk of getting sick. This is the same with the water. There could be toxins and lead in the water that could be potentially dangerous. As I said earlier, the government does not give us the total freedom we think we want but if we had full freedom, it would not be safe. If there were no laws and people had complete freedom, there could be violent acts of harm commit ed by some people. Overall, living without a government could mean more freedom but it could also mean living in an almost apocalyptic world where food and water is not safe and even leaving your house could be dangerous.

Living under a government is better than living without one in my opinion. With a government health regulations have been enforced. Without these trash would be laying in the streets rotting and our water wouldn't be filtered. Another factor is that with a government safety regulations have been imposed. Living with no safety regulations would be ten times more dangerous. For example we wouldn't have stop lights or stop signs causing car crashes. Mot only health and safety regulations, but laws like no crime without consequences and mandatory education would not apply leaving us with an uneducated more violent population. Without a government there would also be no preamble which states that the people must form a more perfect union as well as establish justice. It also makes sure that we insure domestic tranquility. Finally living under a government is more beneficial than living without a government.

Having a government is what makes society, well...society. Without a government we, the people, would be fending for ourselves in a world full of the unknown. With the lack of government, people would be able to do whatever they want. Meaning the rights, we the people have would be zero to none, including our basic/ natural rights. Individuals would be focused on how to help themselves instead of thinking how to help society in bettering itself. This would lead to wars and many tragic deaths. The death rate for humans would be much higher, for varies reasons. Mainly because of diseases and fighting for oneself. Whether we realize it or not, most people rely on their government to do the hard jobs for them. People would be sluggish in trying to survive. At least with having a government most are guaranteed to have food, shelter and water available to them. Without it many people would have to travel far in order to find all those things. At the end of the day, having a government is what helps keep many people at peace.

Government is a vital part in our everyday lives. It has the power to alter history and determine the way others live. It gives us necessities such as healthcare, protection in war, and safety to the poor (working laws/ payments). These basic benefits are what make government so crucial. Without it many small issues may become to great to handle. The structure that is provided with government keeps people in check and gives them the ability to be functioning members in society. Furthermore, without government countries across the globe would be lacking in many of the technological and social advances they see today. This is true because of the interactions between many governments. There is a give and take from one country to another that without a ruling authority, could never happen. It is for these reasons that government has become central to how the world works, and why I feel living under a government is the best decision we can make.

I believe that we should live under a government. Having a government is a necessity. First, living under a government provides us with military protection. If the government were to not exist then there would most likely be no military. The government provides us with military protection which keeps out any invasive countries, and allows us to defend ourselves in times of need. Under a government, every citizen has equal rights to an education. The government provides public schooling for anyone who wants an education. With no government, public schooling would not exist. Another reason the government is necessary is because they provide laws. With no laws, the country would not function. Crime rate would increase drastically and everyone would do as they please, making the country unstable. Stability is one of the most important thing that the government provides. One of the main goals of government is to keep peace for their people. The only way to keep peace is to have a steady and stable government. The government provides us with regulations on things such as food and water too. There would be no one to collect your trash so trash would be everywhere. Since food would not be regulated, it would not be safe to eat, and water would be polluted because there would be no restrictions on if toxins could go into bodies of water. Pollution would be at an all time high if there were no government to regulate it. It is for our government that our country has not fallen apart.

Government is crucial to the well-being of a nation's citizens and growth of a state. First, governments protect people's rights and offer them equality in terms of opportunity and justice. Second, a government provides security from other countries attacking, local crimes, and terrorist attacks through police, military, FBI, and other government-run organizations. Also, they provide public services including: fire fighters, paving roads, court, and education for all. Government provides healthcare for those who cannot afford it, so they and their families can be healthy. Minimum wage is also instilled by the government. This ensures that people will not be underpaid for their services and businesses cannot take advantage of their employees. Laws made by the government, protect others' freedom and safety; laws also help provide for government services, because it is required for one to pay taxes. The stop signs, traffic lights, construction workers, and traffic operator are all paid for by the government, and provide order and safety to those who are walking, driving, biking, or near a road. Governments also provide guideline or strict rules for business and cities to follow for the good of their citizens and environment. Without a government, the smell of outside would be gross because no more trash pick-up, there would be no more clouds or sunshine because smog is covering it, and no way of telling what the weather will be like because there is no weather forecaster anymore. Education would be meaningless: would kids even go to school, would teachers be teaching accurate information, and would the school buildings be able to function? Government provides several policies and services so the state’s people can benefit. Also, laws protect people from eating food with false nutrition labels, and their safety with guidelines for manufactured products. Patents, given out by the government, provide income and authenticity to those who create those products and new ideas. Whether one realizes it or not, the government provides countless services, laws, rules, and jobs so a nation is able to function. Even if some have opposing views on government, it still unites us, because it is what allows us to live our lives safely, freely, and easily. It is the one thing that every single citizen shares with the next, we all benefit from having a government.

I believe that we should live under a government. There would be alot of criminal activity/ illegal activity. Which would cause chaos in the streets and business would lose money because of their being no government. There would be no leader to guide the country like our president. That Absence might cause someone to try to get power and rise up to become a leader. Also, there would be less education since kids don't have to go to school and teachers don't have to teach. Without a government foods and products could get contaminated like water. With a government we would have rights and protection from the government. Also, we would have a president to lead the country and which is the most important person in the government. With the government we could eat food that wasn't contaminated as well as water. With the government present everyone would have a role in society and progress as an human being. Finally, these are the reasons why I think we should have a government.

I would want to live under a government. I relay on the government so often, for many reasons such as safety. The government provides clean water to flow through our country, which allows everyone to drink the water, without having to worry if you will fall ill. The government provides jobs to people who keep our streets clean by taking our garbage, sweeping the streets, plowing the snow, and taking leaves off the street to make it safe to drive on. They hire construction workers to fill potholes with the taxes that we pay to make sure no accidents occur. Laws were set in place by the government to keep everyone in order, so people act appropriately and are punished for their wrong doings. The government also protects everyone by providing a military. A military keeps intruders from invading our country and overthrowing it. The government requires every child from five to sixteen to attend school. This helps the government by making sure the next generation is educated enough to make educated decisions for the future. Overall, the government keeps our country from becoming corrupt and chaotic.

Some may say life without a government would way more efficient and free. That we as a civilization would progress at rapid speeds. I believe the government is essential to civilization and how we live our day to day lives. First, people would no longer feel motivated to work. Unemployment would rise rapidly and services would no longer be available. Following that, society would no longer pay taxes, which would lead to the destruction of average public services. Examples of that would be filling potholes, repairing power lines, firefighters, police forces, armed forces, child care/education, public transportation, and many more. Second, civilization would fall into chaos. Without laws, crime rates would skyrocket, putting everyone in danger. Murder, robbery, shoplifting, drug use and gang violence would be everywhere. Children and adults alike would be at risk. Traffic laws would no longer need to be followed which would lead to, drunk driving, speeding, going through red lights/stop signs, ramping, and no real rhythm to the road. Third, with the increase in robbery and shoplifting, money would begin to lose all value. There would be no consequences to these actions, therefore, the economy could never improve. Lastly, eventually, someone would try to create or claim a form of hierarchy for the people. This could lead to an even more corrupt government than what we started with. It could also lead to new claims of territory, and gangs leading to power.

When looking at the question, “ would you want to live under a government ? ” both sides of yes and no can be argued, but in the end I believe government is necessary to my life . While government has its con’s it does provide our country with a level of safety that would not be attainable without government. For example, the government helps provide us with fairly safe water, roads, medicine, and more things essential to daily life for many. Through the government laws are created for the safety of all people and police are employed to make sure laws are followed. The government provides a military force to protect us from any outside threats from other countries. Not only does the government protect us from outside threats from other countries they also communicate with them. Communication with other countries is important because it helps establish trade and peace agreements. Not having peace and trade with other countries would bring more disorder to our country. While not having a government could help ease constant political controversy and provide more freedom to people in the end government is a necessity. I would choose to live under a government because without it we would be living in an inhabitable country because of lack of safety/security and foreign connections.

I believe that in order to keep chaos under control, it is necessary to live under a government. Without it, there would be neither a military nor a police force to protect the citizens. At best, people could band together to protect their friends/family, but that would do no good against possible external threats from other countries. On a similar topic, the U.S. would basically be eliminated from the global market since businesses would shut down shortly after the government was removed. People along waterways or with access to airplanes could feasibly continue to import and export goods, but the majority of the country wouldn't have that luxury. It would be up to these independent people to continue trading. Finally, without a government, medical care would be hard to come across. General medical facilities as well as research centers wouldn't have the funding to be able to continue their work. People with terminal illnesses couldn't be treated and would die as a result. Those with auditory, visual, or mobile impairments might not have access to tools they need to function (i.e. glasses, wheelchairs, crutches, hearing aids, etc). Due to less of the population being able to get vaccinated, the lowered herd immunity could cause multiple viral outbreaks as well.

I believe we need to live in a world with a government. A big thing that comes to mind is the threat of other countries. Almost all societies today have government so if one country did not have one another could take over the land that does not have any military backing or presence. What I mean by this is that without a organized military other organized forces around the world could take over the weaker military. As well without government there would be less of a sense of safety, morals aside anyone could attack you without consequence. As well there are no restrictions on firearms, with no restriction anyone could own a fully automatic rifle which are (mostly) illegal in America. This would create an unfair defensive situation for a citizen with a semi-automatic firearm, the kind legal in America today. Lastly another issue that would worry me without a government is sanitation. Nothing: restaurants, public areas, schools, office buildings would be forcibly cleaned. This would result with businesses not wanting to clean as regulated putting people at risk of health issues.

I agree to this statement. No government means no rules. It's free and you can do anything you want but that could also be a bad thing too. If you have no structure or laws people are free to do as they please with no consequences.

After reviewing both choices of living-- with or without a government, I would chose to live under a government. Ordered living provides countless benefits for a long term surviving nation. For example the US government provides us with security, stability, and order. If we were without the government's protection, there would be no safety of high profile people, a well as ordinary citizens that could be under attack at any minute. The stable environment that surrounds us give us jobs and financial aide, and equal right. Without this, the economy would crash and there would be no worth to physical money. The government also gives us order and laws which keep us from complete anarchy and complete disorganization. Although there may be some benefits to living without a government, it provides many more benefits. It would be more proactive to give up some of our freedoms in order to create a stable and functioning atmosphere. Theses key positives from living with a government bring me to the conclusion that I would feel more comfortable living with a government.

I believe that government is completely necessary for many reasons. If we did not have government we would constantly be in danger, given that with no government there are no rules. Someone could walk up to you on the street and shoot you and they would not be punished because there is no law saying that you can't. Also, without the government there would be no schools and most likely no education. Some people may see no school as a good thing, but without it you cannot learn many of the concepts that you need in life. There would be no currency without government, because it produces and regulates it. Without currency there are no stores to get life's necessities from, so you would have to find a way to get everything on your own. The government oversees public works, which is regulation of water supply, roads, and many other things. Without it water would often be unsafe to drink and roads would not not be safe to travel on. As you can clearly see, we need the government in order to function and go about our daily lives in the safest and best ways possible.

Most sane people would not just walk up and shoot you because other people would not approve and would punish them. This should not be a reason to support government. The reason we need government is because they protect your rights, not because they protect you. In anarchy someone will presume power, most likely someone of all ready high status or wealth. This person will not care about your rights. This person will not regulate what companies feed you. We need government because it protects our rights primary, not protecting us physically. You would also still be able to get what you need by way of rationing of bartering, or even looting. Society and order predates using imaginary currency and humans crave structure. Without someone taking over by force, we would probably just remake the government.

I believe that in our world today, having a government is extremely necessary. Without a government, we would be lacking many crucial things. Without a government, many things would be unsafe, and not just by crime. First, running water would not be regulated. If the water isn't regulated, daily tasks would become almost impossible to complete. Water would become unsafe to drink, bathe in, wash things in and leave would force many tasks to be left undone. Another way life would be unsafe is through the weather. Although it doesn't sound major, the government collects all information and sends out information about temperature, precipitation, and major storms like hurricanes and tornadoes. People would be completely blindsided by events that could that could cause many deaths or damage. When preparing for the day people would have to prepare for hot, cold, rainy, or sunny weather because no one would know. Many things would become unknown because the information from the government is no longer there. Crime rates would also skyrocket. With no police patrolling to stop criminals, people would get away with whatever, making all towns unsafe to live in.

Governments also help keep countries unified. Without someone leading the country, several people or groups of people would try to rise up and lead in power, most likely breaking the country into multiple smaller countries. Because of the split, languages and dialect would change. Then because education would no longer be a thing, newer generations would learn the dialect spoken close to them, making the separation even further. The one country would become chaotic and wouldn't be one country anymore.

Luckily, we have a government to regulate things, keep their citizens safe, and unified as one country.

Government is necessary for our country for many reasons. First off, government is needed for protection. They provide the military forces and local officers that keep us safe every day. Without them conflict would occur between groups of people constantly. The result would be violence and murder, so the government is able to prevent this from occurring. Another reason the government is a necessity is they provide rules and regulations. They create laws for everything, including on the road, food production, health safety, and education. These laws may seem extreme but they are created for the good of the people. For example without the laws for the road people would drive fast, recklessly, and without caution to others. As a result there would be more accidents and death. Because of the governed the United States has a good economy as well. The government helps improve the economy by making foreign relations and making sure people are employed. If people did not have to work, most businesses would have shut down and the people would have to worry about getting food or other basic needs. Lastly the basic rights of all people are protected by the government. All people have natural rights of life, liberty, and property, and many other freedoms. All in all government is crucial because it keeps the country united and safe.

I rather living under a government. World without government will cause confusion. There are no rules to follow,so it's free and you can do anything you want. But that also could be a bad thing. Everyone fights against the power and it could be a war. Violence and crime will often happen. For example, money will loose their worth and not be able to used anymore. Stealing things will be legal. Also public services will not be worked anymore too. It will be difficult to get clean water. And Garbage will be thrown everywhere. From these reasons I rather living under a government.

I believe that living with a government is better than living without one. The government is crucial in keeping a country/nation orderly and in tact. Without a set leadership or some sort of power stance, there would be many power struggles that are eventually destined to develop into greater and scarier things. An anarchy could occur and cause much trouble and could eventually ruin our country all together. Overall, the government gives us some sort of stability for our country. Not only does the government keep everything under control but it does many things for us as a nation. The government provides us with many essential things that we need. For example, there are laws that protect us from the simple things that could possibly impact our lives greatly. If there was no government, there would be no laws and we would have none (or very little) protection to us as a society. Without the government there wouldn’t be firefighters, the police, detectives, etc. These jobs are needed in everyday life when things go wrong. The government also has the justice system that will protect us and our rights, that can sometimes be taken advantage of. Not many people realize it but the government is what supplies us with schools so that we can get an education. Even though we have to pay taxes, taxes are a part of how we get an education and taxes benefit other necessary things. The government also provides medical care, like hospitals, the E.M.S, doctors, etc. With the government, we can have insurance, such as health, car, home, life, and many more important things that sometimes we take for granted. The government has regulations so that everything can run the way it is meant to. Rates of deaths, accidents, injuries, crime, and many more things would increase greatly with the lack of a government.

In a world without government life would be chaos. There would be no jobs or public offices. This would result in pollution, lack of health and safety standards, and violence and crime rates would rise. Also how would you get food? Most people can't eve keep a simple garden alive so how would you expect them to grow their own food. People now where not raised to depend on themselves. We rely on others and the government is a big part of that. The government supplies us jobs. We pay taxes and in return we get many benefits. Because of our government we have houses, clean water, waste systems, farmers that supply us food. We also have criminal justice systems and laws to keep citizens safe. Our government keeps us together without it things could fall apart.

I would rather live under a government than not live under a government. My first reason is because there would be anarchy everywhere. There would be things getting stolen people getting killed and no one would stop it because there are no laws. eventually there could be a group created to stop this crime and try to make the country a better place, but its not like people aren't gonna still commit these crimes. Another reason i would rather live with a government than not with a government is because if there was no government there would be no form of education. Only the wealthy would be able to afford private schools but the rte might not even be private schools with no government funding. There would be no special forces as in firefighters, police, em ts, etc. With a government you would have everything you need like the government will pay for your education, there will be laws and if you don't follow those laws you will need to pay a fine or go to jail. there wouldn't be a lot of crime and the world would be a safer place.

The reason we should have a stable government is because it keeps order in societies. Everybody has a place in the government and nobody is left a stray. Everybody works towards a better future for the next generation and has a reasonable say in what does and doesn't happen in the near future. If we did not have a government we could not hold laws, rights or are amendments anymore. Meaning that if you are a convicted felon you could bare arms even if you haven't been pardoned by a judge. Without a government it most likely would start rioting because everybody wouldn't need to have morals or respect for others. There's no repercussions for committing homicide or destroying property if there is no implemented government. Are school systems rely on the government to make decisions about regulations and what we can and can not do to are schools. The state government funds schools and educational programs through taxes. if we did not have some form of government we would not have an army to defend are country.

I would rather live in a community with a government. Even though I don't agree with everything the government does, I've realized that they do a lot for us citizens. The government does a lot for us. They have people inspect our water milk, and even eggs. They pay people to gather everyones garbage that way it's not dumped on the streets. They also help make sure businesses are fair to their custumers and have safe food. They make sure no one is hurting anyone or shooting anyone. They also help people pay their bills by giving them jobs. I think the government does a lot more for us than we realize.

I am of the opinion that it is necessary to live under a government. A government will create laws to protect citizens. Without these laws, criminals could do whatever they want without fear of imprisonment. Another type of protection governments provide is military protection. A military will protect citizens from internal and external threats such as opposing militaries. If we were to live without a government, first off, another group would take power. There would be many groups vying for control of the United States, and the most ruthless group would win the power struggle. This wouldn't be very good for citizens as they would be ruled without mercy. Another disadvantage of no government is that nothing is regulated. Stores are no longer required to be honest with their weights, so you may be paying for what is supposedly 5 pounds of a substance, but in reality is only 2. Without a government, anything one consumes may not be safe. Food may be covered in lethal amounts of pesticides, water may have high levels of chemicals, and medicines may actually be poisons. For these reasons, I am convinced that I would rather live under a government

A government is necessary in a country because without one the country will fall to peices. One of the major issues without a government is that the water supplies will be done because without the government running the water compinies we will not be able to use the water for important uses. Another major issue is that the government gives us daily protection for us and for our familys. The issue with that is the police officers will not be around to protect us and make sure that were safe. If we didnt have a government our lives would be at risk everyday. Another reason why a government is necessary is because without it we wouldnt have jobs and we would have to go to our local stores and steal our food or water to not starve or passout of dehydration. The main reason why we need a government is because without the governments contract with the light companies we wont have any light. The last reason why we need a government is because without a government none of our teenagers today or in the future will have no school education. Also the population would decrease by an abundant amount.

That is my response why we should live with a government.

I believe that living under a government is necessary in the world. Why I believe this is because government is what holds the U.S and other country's together. There is no reason to go against it mostly because no matter what government will form due to people needing some sort of order. Government is does do things that some people may not like, like taxes but they are needed to keep the country's economy working. Also without a government that means no pay for working, it also means that the education system goes in the trashcan. It also provides safety and control over the country, if we didn't have this would lead strait to anarchy and destroy everything we built up. Without higher ups such as the president and senate we would have no order in what we do each day, there would be no laws or rights. Without rights slavery could start back up and most of our history would be our present. All roads would be wore and destroyed in a anarchy because no one is going to take care of them. Lastly all jobs would not be in use anymore and most of our medical ideas would be lost in a country without a government, which means a major loss in population.

Government is necessary because without it,society would not be able to function properly. Thomas Jefferson once said “ If men were angels government would not be necessary.”

Order is a need for any type of society to work. Government also provides protection and Justice for its citizens. For example the government provides police to enforce the laws so every citizen can be safe. Military is the armed forces of a country which protect the entire country from foreign enemies, the government is in charge of the military. Laws are made for the safety of others, its so that people can't kill or steal. Government makes for a better and more productive state of people, in the United States Preamble it says to promote the general welfare. Governments are here to protect basic right rights.

I believe that we should live under a government. To start with, I believe that there would be a total anarchy and disorder without one. For example, there would be no laws meaning people would be able to do as they please. Laws and punishment that is established by government is supposed to be a deterrent for bad behavior. What would be the incentive to go to work and contribute to society? Would there be currency without the government? Without currency we'd be in "simpler" times as in we'd be a hunter/gatherer society. There would be no protection for anyone in the nation due to not having to pay taxes (to fund a military). The government is involved with other countries and they attempt to keep the peace. Another argument is the support for the people by the government. There are systems in place for healthcare, disability, and even programs like welfare for when someone is hurt or unable to work.

I would rather live under a government. A government helps to keep order and peace in a society. Laws and justice systems work to protect people from criminals and ensure equality for everyone. Governments also provide efficient ways for using its citizens money. By forcing people to pay taxes, they can afford to pay for public services such as police, firefighters, public education, and transportation infrastructure. If these services were privatised those companies would have an incentive to make a profit. Although these services may not be used by everyone they still benefit the general population. Governments also protect its citizens by regulating many industries to ensure that products and services are healthy and safe to use before they're on the market. Governments provide currencies which are very important for economic societies to thrive. Governments encourage all of its citizens to work together to better society.

I believe that living underneath a government is the right thing to do. Without it, we would live in constant fear. We would live in fear because there wouldn't be any parameters, for example, since there wouldn't be any laws saying you couldn't just bring use a gun anywhere, more murders would happen. And since there wouldn't be any punishments, the murderer would just get away with that awful deed. Another example of how living without a government would be an awful idea, is that there wouldn't be any rules on who can and can't be a doctor, meaning that anyone could just say that they're "certified". They could wind up making you pay for a medicine that was completely unnecessary, or not notice if there was something really actually wrong with you. This is why i think government is necessary, we don't need to live in constant fear, the right rules and laws are set in place.

Government is essential for the lives of people today. While I acknowledge that people eventually can adapt to survive without one, today’s human is not there yet. Government provides many services to the people, including but not limited to regulation to increase safety and security, healthcare, and a monetary system. Without money, people would have to barter for everythig, and people not good enough would get ripped off, and could face starvation or another risk in doing so. Many people in the world are shy, and not being able to enunciate for themselves would cause many to suffer. Additionally, regulations on products keep businesses uncorrupt and safe for consumers. On top of that, government is the main reason roads and quality vehicles exist. Without the government only toll roads would exist, but they could charge anything for passage. That might work out eventually, except thay lack of quality control would mean your car would break down frequently or not even work. To conclude government is most definitely necessary for the people of today because it keeps them alive and safe.

In a world without Government many crucial things would be lacking. Although you have unlimited freedom without government, that could easily transfer over to be a terrible outcome because of it. For example, people would be doing whatever they want without any consequences or any idea of how it could harm another person. Another reason that we should live under government is because it keeps a form of organization among the people. It gives us jobs to work and school to go to instead of doing nothing all day. Government also keeps us safe. It gives us a law enforcement which protects the people and enforces the penalties to the people that violate them. Another reason we need to live under a government is because if we didn't have them then there would be a lack of clean water and regulated food. So by stating this, we need a government to keep us, the people, healthy and alive. The government also provides an education for the citizens. So adding to the claim that living under a government is better than living under no government, it provides a learning style that in the future you can later use to better you in life. Even though governments can easily be flawed at some certain parts, living under a government would ultimately benefit the people and the country at large.

While it is clear that people can function with out a government, there should still be a government in place. The government exists to protect the natural rights of people, and so it should stand so as to be able to do its job. Without government, we would be in anarchy, and with anarchy the strongest and/or wealthiest would take over and rule with an iron hand. There would be no protection of ones natural rights, and the people under this rule would suffer greatly based on this. Government also protect people from bad business practices and regulates food and water. This is beneficial because companies are not people. They are profit machines. They will put anything in your food or water if it will make them more money or cost them less. The government makes it so companies can not put harmful chemicals in your food. They also keep harmful materials out of clothes. We need the government because it makes all of these regulations and they help keep/try to keep us safe.

I feel that governments are absolutely necessary. Governments provides things in our country that we don't have think about in our everyday lives. We don't have to think is another country is going to take us over because the government protects us. We don't have to think whether the food we eat is clean or not because the government regulates those things. Another reason why the government is so important is because they provide a lot of education in the country. Without education people will not be informed about things so bad decisions could be made. If there was no government it would be chaos. No laws no education people wouldn't know what to do. Also if there was no government someone would claim power and for their own government whether that be an autocracy or oligarchy. All in all a government is needed to keep a country stable and organized.

In my opinion I believe that the United States is better off with a government. I believe this because without government it would be an anarchy which would lead to chaos. Also, people would not be educated which cause advancements to never be made. This is because the government would not require kids and teenagers to go to school. Time would not have moved on, we may have still been in the same place as we were in the 1800's. Next, without a government people would do whatever they want this may seem like a intriguing, but it could possibly could lead to total destruction. People would also never do anything they wouldn't have to go to school and they wouldn't have to get a job. Lastly, because a government would not exist things that would need to be taken care of wouldn't be. Towns would be smelly, disease baring, and littered as a result of basic needs to being taken into account. The United States in total would be chaotic and non-productive if we did not live under a government.

There are many reasons why government is necessary. A government’s job is to keep a country running smoothly, structurally, and without conflict therefore it is definitely necessary. To further explain, one example can be how products are made. Today the U.S. government provides rules and safety guidelines put in place to keep Americans safe. For example, without the government, products that are potentially harmful would be able to be released to the public without permission. People could buy these products and hurt themselves. The government also provides safety guidelines on other things too.. Without these guidelines, water would be unclean and unsanitary, food could be poisoned or raised improperly, and the air could be filled with levels of pollutants unsafe for humans. The United States’ government also provides public services. These include: firefighters, road pavers and DOT workers, water purifiers, and garbage pickup. Without these, the world would be much more unsanitary and unsafe. Finally, living under a government is a positive because the government enforces some human regulations. These stop people from doing whatever they want to do and they also prevent total chaos. Similar to this, the government also gives everyone equal and basic rights. These include the freedom of speech, protection from unreasonable searches and seizures, etc. In the end, living under a government is essential and there are many reasons to support it.

My argument is to live under a government. I choose this reason because we have a good food source and we have fresh water. Living under the government we have a good source for fresh and clean water source. That will keep us safe. Next we have a good government because we have good fresh food and good plantations and farming areas. Also another reason for living under a government is we have protection by the government. The government also makes our country safe because we have rules and cops to make our country safe. Overall I think living under a government is safer and better community. If there was no government there would be a lot of chaos and violence.

In a world without a government, their would be a lack of many things. Their would be crime everywhere and extreme population deficit due to murder. Also, resources would be shortened because people are taking what they want without the need to work for it. Also, when people aren't working to create and possibly plant those resources, none would be created. Their would be non-treated water which would end up in the sickness and disease of many people. Land would be hard to come by because people would be constantly taking and murdering just for a shelter. A lot of the morals that we have recognized in modern day society would be ruined because we all have the urge to survive, which would lead to murder just for good enough resources. Weather emergencies would happen often and we wouldn't know because we're not working to find what is happening. Fire enforcement wouldn't be working to treat fires which would lead to an excessive amount of forest fires, house fires, etc. Lastly, nuclear weapons would be able to be accessed easily, which could lead to a group of people exterminating a large part of the population, which could eventually lead to the human race being extinct.

I highly agree with everything said in this post, as people are not perfect and their could be many problems without a government. Governments may not be perfect, but as you stated in your argument, they are a big factor in why the human races' existence continues as it does today. Another thing that came through very clear to me was that peoples' morals would be ruined. This is because I also believe that at the end of the day, most people would just be trying to survive. Without governments to keep people in check, they would be able to survive by any means necessary to them.

If I had to choose whether to live with or without the United States government it wouldn't be hard for me to choose. I would choose to live with the government. The government does many things for our nation. Our government has led us to many successes. It has given us opportunities that we would not get any where else in the world.

Living with a government has its advantages and disadvantages. Sometimes they can be annoying. They watch every move you make and you have to follow the rules they set. As a government they are suppose to protect us and keep us civil. The people that run the government do just that so with that said our nation should be proud to have a well rounded government, even if we don't always like the rules and laws they set.

The government controls everything we do and what we know. There are things people probably wouldn't want to know any way so maybe it's better left unsaid. We sacrifice paying taxes to live the way we want and get to live. With sacrifice there are things we don't want to do. We have to be willing to sacrifice things in want in order to get the things that we need and get the life we think we deserve. If I have to give up something I want to get what I deserve because I earned it then I am willing to pay that price.

I have dreamed of going to college since I was five years old. The government controls the education we receive. In my opinion we should have a government. People don't realize how much of an impact the government has on our every day life. When we get up and go to school every day that is the governments law for us to do so. For people like me that think education is incredibly important then you know what I mean by giving up other things to go to prestigious schools and get amazing educations. In the United States we receive some of the best education in the world and that has to do with the amazing government we have.

As kids we are taught to follow our dreams and go to school. If we didn't have school then we would not have careers. without a dream and a passion to succeed then what else would there be. If you had to choose between having to pay taxes and following laws over following your dreams, would you? I know what my answer is but do you?

A government is an organized system, where a group of individuals are given the responsibility to help maintain a peaceful coexistence on behalf of the citizens. Without a government daily life would be chaotic and dangerous. Simple and underappreciated ways of life would be gone. First of all, water would be contaminated, which, when consumed, could cause sickness. The government enforces certain health precautions so foods such as dairy, fruits, and vegetables could have pesticides and other harmful chemicals in them.

Also, the government protects citizens rights. Without them, the peace that they maintain would be gone. Crime rates would increase since there would be no consequences enforced by a higher authority, such as the police.

When you are sick, you visit a doctor. Without a government, you cannot be sure whether or not the doctor, or any other health specialist you go see it certified and will provide you with healthy and safe medication. Also when buying medications, or any other type of good, the government checks to make sure you are not being charged too high or too low for your purchase.

All in all, I believe a government is necessary for the United States. Without it, life would be chaotic, unhealthy, and unorganized.

Side: Live Under a Government

I agree with what you are saying regarding to the food and water quality and the sources are probably unreliable as well. Funding for food and water precautions would also be very little to none at all. The life expectancy when living without a government looks to be quite low due to the possible food contamination and the lack of proper doctors. There is also a unsettling chance that the medication that "doctor" has prescribed is not what they said it would be and that could cause a major amount of damage. This information you presented shows how unstable life without a government would truly be.

I think that we should have government in our country or state. The first reason why we must have a government because they resolve problems with limit and keep peace in a state or country. Government is also good because it uses taxation to build everything that we have around. Government also provides welfare to the poor, that are less fortunate then others.Goverment provides schooling for any one that lives in the US. Another reason that is why a government is necessary because it protects the near by environment from animals to plant life. Another example is a government provides protection in warfare so we can live our daily lives safe. A government also makes sure everyone has free rights and follows the constitution. Another reason can be that a government makes sure a state or country evoles in everything that country needs to improve on. One final reason why a government is necessary is that it provides border protection in the a country or state to keep everyone safe. I believe that government is necessary from the information above shows the many positives that a government gives.

Side: Live Under a Government

Choosing whether or not to live with or without a government is a hard decision. This subject has many positives and negatives about both sides. My opinion is that we need to live under a government for us to maintain our society as how it is. Our government maintains and regulate our laws. This makes us not go into complete chaos because without them we would be lost. Also our government controls the police so with no government means no police. This would result in many accidents and no one to protect us. Going off the safety concept there wouldn't be any military and without the people who protect and serve the country no one would fight for us. Without any laws that means anything goes so if a crime was committed no justice would come to that person. Now if we lived under a government none of these things would happen. A government keeps us safe and regulates our country. Some people will say the government is to controlling and watches us well if we didn't have them there would be total chaos. Plus, the country would end up exactly as i described it in need of serious help. That's why I feel we should be living under a government.

I personally think that our society depends on the government and without one we would be lost. The United States government impacts our daily life on many different levels. We wouldn’t have a voice in many issues because there would not be anyone to represent us and help mediate conflicts with other people and places. There are some topics that cannot be regulated without the help of the government such as education because without the regulations the government set in place there would be many illiterate individuals that cannot proceed in certain professions that alone would set back us back and wouldn’t allow us to function due to the lack of services. The government also has a great responsibility to provide a safe environment for us to live in and with that said the government must put in place laws and regulations in order to do so. Without a government this would not be the case, there would be no one monitoring what goes on. Along with that thought, that there would be no supervision in that society so no one would be looking out for the citizens wellbeing therefore people would struggle with many issues and eventually cause a major disaster to happen within the community. The government we have now serves a purpose in creating a environment that is not only safe but gives an equal chance to all members. Living under a government seems like the most secure and reliable choice reason being, without a government the world would be a dangerous place.

In our society the government is a crucial part of society. Without the government our whole country would be completely messed up and there would be a lot of injustice and chaos.

I believe our Government should be run under government supervision. I believe this because, without the government there would be a lot of criminal injustice, jobs would become harder those of a different race, gender, or ethnicity other than white and heterosexual, and pour living conditions would be increasingly worse.

First off our the justice system that the government created be completed unbalanced most consequences of crime would be dictated based off of emotion and not facts and logic. This would cause a lot of unfair punishment like extra jail time, the death sentence to many , or more community service.

Secondly jobs would be must harder to get let alone obtain of those different from the common class and white race. Those of a different race, gender, or ethnicity would have it much more difficult because there is so much phobia and judgment towards the minority race, gender or ethnicity. Without the Government this would occur and we would have a higher unemployment rate.

Finally, without the government the living condition of most people would become worse. This is mostly directed towards the lower class and unemployed. The sewer and drainage system would not be manage without the government so the remains of other would flood through the streets. trash would start to collect up, which will eventually kill the animal life and wild life as a whole. This is why I believe the government is needed in a society/country in order to be successful there are many more options to list here but here is to name a few.

A government is needed for several very important reasons. Starting off with the sole fact that without government, there would be anarchy. Also, there is a huge possibility that at least someone would try to assume control over a society without a government in place. Without government there would ultimately be absolute chaos. Another reason why government is necessary is because it promotes peace and safety within society. This comes from health regulations that the government enforces. Without them, the streets would be filthy, and there would be even more pollution.A government also facilitates justice and equality, and without it there would be no laws and no law enforcement. Crime rates would skyrocket and there would be no penalty, and so it would continue to occur. In the end, living without a government would be more trouble than it is worth. Society would be living in chaos and filth as well as a crime filled environment

we need a government for many, many things almost to many too count. the government keeps us safe with regulations on harmful products. keeps things like hospitals and fire departments running and helping the people while providing jobs. not even mentioning the military, police, and coast guard enforcing laws and protecting civilians from war. congress makes sure that no unfair laws are passed using voting to make sure that the people are represented. without a government no one could keep order and chaos would run rampant. humans need law and someone to either help them make decisions or lead them down the right path.

Living under a government provides many benefits for the commonwealth. The government provides structure in our country. Without government our country would be complete anarchy. There would be no enforcement of laws, or any laws at all. The government also provides for those who need financial help. It may seem like our government asks a lot from us, but the return we get from it is, in my opinion greatly worth it. With no forms of government in our country we would be lacking basic necessities like medicine and any imported goods like the clothes we wear. Another reason why I would rather live in a world with government is because of technological advances. Without the government we would not have many of the technological advances we have now. This is because the resources used to make them are not always from the U.S.. These are the reasons why I think living under a government is more beneficial than not.

I believe that without a government, their would not be a lot of things that are extremely important to a human life. Crime intensity would increase, murder would be a daily thing. Resources would be cut off due to people not working and doing what they want. The resources wouldn't be created due to the lack of work, starvation would be caused due to resources not being created. Property would be hard to have due to excessive theft, murder, and people not building houses. Water would not be treated and would end up in many people becoming ill, and could lead to excessive death. Emergency facilities would not be accessible due to nobody working, which would lead to many deaths due to people not being treated for sickness or disease. The human values that we have developed through government would be destroyed because of the excessive need to survive. Many animals would become extinct due to excessive hunting and the need for food because people do not want to work to create the necessary resources. Lastly, I believe people would no longer develop the drive and passion to do something every day, which could lead to some people getting obese because they've stolen excessive amounts of food.

In a world mainly regulated by governments, such as today’s world, the absence of a government would most likely result in many poor repercussions. One example would be total anarchy in the vacancy of a government. Without laws and people employed to enforce them, there would be no stopping anybody who would want to commit crimes, so if people did not want to work, they would be able to steal and harm others in order to get what they want. Without government there would not be a justice system to protect and guarantee its citizens rights. Another reason that governments are necessary is that they provide protection for its citizens, often times in the form of an organized military. Without government, there would not be an organized military, allowing other countries to easily defeat us. Also, if the military stayed , the military could completely take over the nation with no consequences and without reinstalling democracy. On this note, anybody could gather a large enough following to create a dictatorship for their own gain. Governments are not perfect by any means, and there are probably many ways they could be improved, but some do provide many services for their citizens such as protection, laws, a justice system, or education. Without a government many of these things would not be available to people.

There are many argument talking about if there should be a government or not. I believe that we must live under a government for many reasons. First of all without a government there would most likely be lots of crime. Most houses and important buildings would be robbed. Also their would be lots of spoiled and terrible foods at stores since there would be no health regulations. This would mean lots of people could die from food with diseases. If people were sick they would most likely die because the doctors would most likely not use good medicine since they have no regulations. Your chances of getting a job would also decrease because the government is the one the helps you get a job. Lastly our country would most likely would become a dictatorship because over all the chaos some one would raise and take over. All in all it would be so much better to live under a government.

Without government, we would lose many crucial things that we all need to live our every day lives. Anarchy would become as extreme crime would increase, meaning lives and reputations of many would be tarnished. Some people think it would be beneficial due to the excessive freedom, but with freedom comes limitations. The limitations that governments provide. Working is a great way of both developing social skills and morals. If we didn't work, things would be available to start, but when those resources aren't being provided anymore due to crime and theft, starvation would occur. Also, water treatment would not be a thing due to not working. Untreated water would cause sickness and disease, where do you turn to then? Emergency facilities wouldn't be available because nobody is working, so people would end up dying when their lives could've been saved. Lastly, hygiene would get excruciatingly worse due to the water not being treated and bacteria would build, which makes bathing pointless.

I believe that life under a government is safer, much easier, and very necessary. The purpose of government is to keep things in order and to help its country/state/nation from falling apart. Without a government in charge, the economy would be completely messed up. There would be no regulations on a minimum wage or any sort of way to make sure that people are properly getting paid; that is if they are even working. Another issue without the government would be violence. There is a lot of hatred in the world usually accompanied with discrimination, and people would most likely take more action if there wasn’t law enforcement. Law enforcement is the main reason that we live in a semi stable country. Without it, there would be constant chaos and people would not get punished for their actions in the way that they should be. Although there are some positives to having no government, such as free will, possibly less worries, and not as much controversy, we need the government for protection above all. Without it, we could be in constant war without having a defined army to defend us. Therefore, the government is a necessity of life.

I firmly believe that a government is a necessary component for a nation to function properly, therefore, I would rather live in a society with a government. First of all, a government lays down the fundamental laws and regulations of society that help to keep a nation organized. For instance, laws that are stated in the the U.S. Constitution guarantee people’s basic freedoms, such as freedom of speech, religion, and the press. Other laws help keep society in order, like laws that protect people from discrimination because of race, gender, age, or because of a disability. Moreover, there are many laws that prevent and punish intentional crime, such as robbery, murder, and theft, so a nation can remain peaceful and orderly. Secondly, governments finance many projects, utilizing the tax system, that are necessary to the common good and to better society. Examples include funding waterways, sewers, electricity, roadways and other transportation mechanisms, and education, to all make society a better place for people to live in. Another reason why I would prefer to live in a society with a government is that governments enforce a strong military to keep the public safe from many dangerous acts. Anything from firefighters and police officers to the United States Marine Corps is enforced by a strong government. All these protective services are created and enforced by the government to ensure that society is safe from any conflicts in and out of the nation. A government cares for its population and would do anything to protect the people that make up the country. Finally, a government allows citizens to receive a fair and just opportunity when they have been charged with committing a crime. They are entitled to a trial to prove their innocence or guilt. Everyone living in a nation is equal, so it is only fair that everyone is treated the same way when faced with conflicts, which is exactly what a government encourages and promotes. All in all, I would rather live under a nation with a government, since a government: provides a country with order and peace, finances many national projects that are important to the general welfare, protects a country from chaos and mayhem, and gives all citizens the same judicial support.

Government does many things from picking up our trash to responding to emergencies. However it does more than this, it lays the foundation for people to succeed and society to flourish. Without them people would find themselves lost, and chaos would soon ensue. People are organized by nature, they need each other, and they rely on one another. Government only facilitates this by creating more structure and more defined procedures to follow. Government employs over fifteen percent of America's work force, on the state, federal, or local level. It's hard to not know someone who is employed by the government these days. These jobs though are more than just ordinary jobs, because they fuel the economy, and the services they complete are for the people. Small things like potholes seem small because they can be easily dealt with, but when too many of these small things add up things begin to go awry. Government stops this in more ways than one and the gratitude people show should be more than what we see now

I believe governments are needed. Some people argue that having a government just keeps making new problems and having one wont fix anything. To some extent this is true but there will always be problems no matter if you have a government or not. The fact is that having a government will make some of the major problems of not having a government less major and more minor. The results of governments are a more organized society. Now a government makes it possible for the world to have peace and not be at war. It also allows us to notice the problems of the world such as food and global warming. Without a government these problems would go unnoticed for the fact that everyone is worried about surviving. Lastly the simple things in a government keeps us humans on a daily track to success. Without governments we wouldn't know if a hurricane is coming and or a tornado. Without a government some people wouldn't be wealthy enough to afford food or sanitation. Without a government the world would become a battle field and we would not progress as humans.

I believe without a government everything would fall apart and get out of control. First, for example there would be nothing protecting us like police and laws and crime rates would be sky rocket. Our economy would turn into nothing because no one is working for it, no one is getting paid, nothing is equal. Jobs would be inaccessible because no one is educated or specialized in a field that would allow them to get the job done. Important businesses and things people use in everyday life would be non existent; banks, insurance companies, hospitals etc. All of these effect each other and if one thing falls apart, the rest do. Therefore, without a government it would be a very unsafe, unstable and hard way to live.

Side: Live Under a Government

I support this comment because a government will always be necessity in our daily lives. First off we would have no protection so crime would go up far with out authorities. There would be nothing there for our economy because most people would do what they please, and not work together as a country or state. We wouldn’t have a place to store our money in banks so a lot of robberies could happen with no protection on values. No health care services can lead to the average age of death would go down and no way to provide for emergencies. All in all this comment on we should have a government is well thought and provides many good reasons why it fall apart.

Side: Live Under a Government

If the world did not have a government it would not be as stable as it is now. The United States specifically would be falling apart left and right if there was not a government, and that is why the government is necessary. Having a government does have some negative factors but a majority of the factors are positive. For example, if there was no government the world would be extremely dangerous because it protects society. Not only that but it affects the power of people and people living in an area. Another reason as to why government is a necessity is that kids would have no good education. Clearly not that many kids like to go to school therefore if they did not have to they would not. But since they do not have a choice they have to go. Not only would the students lack but the teachers as well. Also to add without a government there would be a lot more violent activities happening. There could be a lot more intruders at school, more robberies, and many other violent things that are thankfully illegal til this day due to living under a government.

I would rather live under a government instead of without a government for many reasons. While living under a government public services are provided for you. The water is inspected and cleaned to make sure no bacteria or toxins are in your water. This allows you to feel safe whenever you are drinking water, taking a shower, brushing your teeth, etc. The government also provides military protection and has laws set in place to keep everyone safe. Without laws and military protection we would constantly be invaded by other countries and our crime rates would be through the roof. Also, while living under a government we are assured an education with public schools. Without the schooling we have today our generations to come would be uneducated and lead our country in the wrong direction. Plus, with a government we have safety on the roads. There are street signs, stop lights, and speed limits keeping the roads under control and safe for the people. They also fix the roads when needed and are no longer safe. Therefore, while not living under a government and having no laws might seem great, it is better to live under a government that creates structure and stability for our country.

Side: Live Under a Government

I agree with this comment. I believe that a government is necessary to have. They provide us with safety and make us feel safe. If we did not have the public services that the government provides us with, as you had said, then pollution would rise by an alarming rate. I believe that without the education that the government has provided for us, generations would not be where they are today. The government does provide us with structure, stability, and peace, and without those three things our country would crumble.

I believe that government's are not needed. This is because all the problems that government fix's are done in a way that either make the situation worse or create new different problems. Also government forces you to live your life souly to making money and no sense of choice besides completely removing your self from society. This removes the free will aspect that humans have had since there creation. Also there would be no crime due to there being no laws. This life style with no government would make life simpler in the long run. Also with there being no government you or I would not be forced to do any thing and could achieve any of are life goals. Are society would eventually go back to being a hunter gather society with light farming. Finally there would be stress like there is with modern life such as work, peers, and taxes. Life with out government would be simpler and easier for any one with a love for the out doors and don't mind manual labor.

I disagree because the government doesn't souly force you to earn money, you could never have a job but you would never be able to attain basic goods and services easily. You are still completely free to do as you please too, so long as it is within legal guidelines that are put in place for the benefit of the majority. Without laws if anything there would be more crime, laws were put in place to prevent already existing crime and stop the criminals from acting out again. Even in our current government you can chase after and achieve your life goals with the correct recourses and if you don't have those recourses you simply need to work for them. Finally not everybody would be able to survive in the kind of society you are envisioning, not everybody can provide for themselves in the farming hunting and gathering that you are envisioning without government.

I agree that the government doesn't force you to earn money. If they were forcing people to make money then they would go to homeless people and find a way to get them to make money. Also not everyone has a job therefore not everyone is forced to make money. The government just has people who have jobs pay taxes because the world is in debt and need to find ways to pay for the things that we use on a daily basis. I also agree on the fact that everybody can not live off of farming, hunting and gathering. Many people are allergic to certain types of things and can not physically eat those types of foods. The government helps many people and has most people in a better situation within a government than without.

Although I agree with some of your sentiment, your overall opinion is littered with falsehoods. Government often times does its finest work where no one sees it. Fixing roads, helping the less fortunate, and creating just laws are only some of the many small jobs done by government. Not everything done by government “creates new problems.” Often times these situations arise from a select few who abuse their power at the highest levels of government. This being said, the idea that government makes the world a more dangerous and complex place is false. When looking at the world in a long-term view you see that government has helped shape where we are today. New technologies are rapidly growing and we are in a much better place than we were, say 100 years ago. This is all true because of one simple reason, government.

Government is necessary, at least to a point. Life would be more difficult with no laws and no maintenance or services, since anyone can do anything, including murder and robbery both of which are not good things. The whole "no crime due to there being no laws" is maybe the best thing I have ever read, but there should be laws against people committing crimes. I doubt anyone would live long enough to achieve their life goals, since there wouldn't be a need for affordable health care, or maybe any at all. Very few people would actually enjoy being a hunter gatherer society, which would severally drop life expectancy and have a far lower quality of life. In all, very few people would enjoy a hunter gatherer society as you suggested and would send the world back to the middle ages, back to when kings ruled and fought each other

I agree with your argument because money is indeed the soul purpose of working, and people revolve their lives around earning it. A life without a government would be more stress free, like you said. I also agree with the part about there being no crime, crime exists mainly because of our government. Overall your argument was similar to what I said in mine, and you bring up good points.

I respectfully disagree with your argument. Money is not the soul purpose of working. The people that volunteer don't get paid to work. A life with out a government would end up in a blood bath. The government keeps the stress of people at bay cause if they didn't we would another civil war and the nation would be at war brother against brother. If we didn't have a government the crime would be worse than it is because there would be no consequence. People would get away with murder in cold blood more than they do now. Without a government the people would destroy themselves.

I disagree that life without a government would be less stressful. For starters, you would have to worry more about your basic needs. Without people working, you couldn't just go to the grocery store whenever you needed more food. Instead, you would have to focus your time, energy, and resources into hunting, gathering, farming, etc. Not to mention, you would have to hope that you are or know someone who is handy that could help you build and repair your supplies/house.

And while I do agree that there would be more free will, I don't believe that the crime rate would drop. If there is nobody to enforce the law, what's stopping you from breaking it? (Consider what happens in 'The Purge' movies when everything becomes legal.) It would almost be necessary to steal on a daily basis in order to survive since, as I mentioned above, no one would be producing goods anymore.

States Rights Washington Bites. Bunk on the patronage system. Patronage: stands upon the premise that the Federal Government has the mandate to determine Corporate monopolies! The anti-trust law - - if the Fed Government can force a Corporation to break up its monopoly - as happened with Standard Oil in the early years of the 20th century - then the Fed Government has the power to establish Corporate monopolies as occurred a few years later when the Wilson government illegally established the Federal Reserve!

Once you have Federally "Establishment" Corporate monopolies, then the next step follows - - The Fed government establishes Federal bureaucracies which protect these "Establishment" monopolies. In the economic housing crisis of 2008, recall, "the to BIG to Fail" excuse wherein the Fed Government protected large banking monopolies!!!!

The next step, once the Fed Government protects the "Establishment" Corporate monopolies, these same Corporate monopolies establish "LOBBIES" to protect their interests!

The 3 steps of Patronage - its a philosophy of governance first developed by the Whig Party in England in the 1820! The most famous practitioner of the Patronage system of economics - - Sir Walter Walpole.

Although I agree with some things you said I believe it’s important to realize that without government society would be unsafe an chaotic. With an unsafe and chaotic society concepts like a, “ hunter- gatherer” society would be almost unattainable. This would be because without government there would be a great power struggle between lots of people since everyone would want power. It’s also important to note that government jobs ( police, construction workers, fireman) create a safe society and we wouldn't be able to live safely without them. So although I think it’s important people do what they want even that wouldn’t be attainable without government.

I disagree with your argument because the idea of a government is to keep peace, maintain order, and protect peoples basic rights. What you mentioned is a corrupt government, not all governments are like that. There are many governments around the world that accurately represent the true meaning of a government. By making money you have to have human interaction, which does not remove yourself from society. In fact it most likely pushes you closer because you can relate with others who are working a lot.

I see here that you have stated that, “there would be no crime due to there being no laws.” Laws were originally made to stop crime, not create it. Some could argue that, since there are laws saying that people can’t do things, they actually urge people to actually go out and do it. This may be true in scenarios of lower risk, but when jail time or fines are faced, the only people going out and committing crime are the desperate people that would go out and do it either way. As for the other people, if there was no consequence for their “wrong” actions, then they would feel no guilt or resistance doing them. Therefore, having a society where there were no laws would lead to chaos and even more crime. After time, people may even start to depend on crime for a living, since there is no way to make a fair living anymore. This all being said, I think that it is fair to say that laws are made to stop crime, and there would be even more crime if we didn’t have a government and laws to support and regulate us.

I disagree, I strongly believe that if the government was taken away, nothing but chaos and violence would come as a result. The government is the largest reason why people are successful and obey by the laws. The fact that there would be no crime because there are no laws is true in a literal sense but its absolutely wrong otherwise, in my opinion. Without laws, rules or regulation of any kind, it would be complete and utter chaos. Also, with the government the way it is right now, the citizens can vote for most very large decisions. But I believe that if we didn't have the government, one person would take control and abuse the power to do a lot of damage. Over all, I believe that we could definitely change and improve our government system but taking it away in its entirety would cause terrible damage to the human race and this earth.

I respectfully disagree with this point of view for several different reasons. Although I agree that government issues and politics can often cause fighting and problems to occur, it needs to be understood that everyone will always have different opinions and not having government will not fix that. Next, I get that the word "crime" would technically not have a meaning to it if laws were not enforced, but it still does not mean it is right and for the better of the people to do something that is illegal. Also, the government makes people do things to better them, and not hold them back, although sometimes they may seem to fall short of that, things like even a basic education helps someone become successful. I believe government is necessary so that the people are safe and secure as well as educated in some way or another.

I disagree, although government can possibly create issues at times, where we would be without it is not the right path. Government doesn't purely force you to live your life to make money, but they do need contributors to keep the country going as a whole. Manual labor is good and farming is nice as well, but not every single person wants to do that. Their are people out in the world that want to kill, steal, etc. A lot of them have, and they are put in prison. Without government, they would be let out. What do you do then? An excessive amount of hate is built inside this person, without government, they now have the access to do whatever they want to whoever they want.

I strongly disagree with what your point is here. I don't believe that the government creates any issues purposely, although possibly it could happen, often times the first thing in mind to the government is the protection of their own country. Yes, government leaders make the wrong decisions, but they also have YOUR best interest and result in mind. I don't believe it would make anything more simple, it would just increase crime and it would create many of issues that our government has resolved over the years. Our government isn't perfect, of course, but the last thing people need is for it to be gone. It would be the worst result we could have. You can achieve your life goals, you don't need to get rid of the government just to have that. If you need to get rid of government to truly accomplish what you want in this life, then you need to work harder in the life that you have to accomplish your goals.

Having a government has its positives, but along with it creates many problems. For example, though people have protection and insurance from government, people in turn have to give services such as being in the military if needed, and of course, have to pay taxes. Many people don't have the ability to meet the required laws of the government, and therefore it is unfair for those people who are unable to defend themselves if targeted. The government also stirs a lot of trouble, such as political debates and people going as far as to rage in the streets. With all of the controversy following the government, people have gotten hurt in the process. Lastly, the people in power (mainly people like the president and congress) have the most control over a huge amount of people. If we didn't have government, people would be able to own the land and the houses that they live in, which can decrease problems like paying for bills. Perhaps without a government, people would not have disagreements with other countries or parties. Overall, the government provides many things that people have taken for granted. But in return of this, people are taken away from a lot of their own rights and are forced to obey to the law.

Your argument has various good points however not having a government can still stir up some of the problems you pointed out.For example about having your own land. Because there is no laws protecting your right to own your own land that means people can still take over your land. With this being said, this leads to another point. Yes I agree paying taxes and bills are a hassle but paying your taxes and bills are what help you live calmly. What I mean is, you get to keep your house, have fresh running water, be able to see in the dark without having to put CO2 into the air. Even though with government you have to be in the military if needed and you have to pay taxes, these "sacrifices" often benefit both you and the rest of society. The military protects you, your loved ones, and the rest of society, and the taxes you pay often go to a cause that helps you. Also, if people are struggling to pay their bills, the government assists them with food or other necessities. Your tax dollars also maintain our infrastructures, which everyone uses and benefits from.

It just gives everyone structure and goals to set for themselves in life. Getting rid of the government means that we can pretty much do what we want and when we want without consequences. There would be no goals to be set because everything can be done. It also would just completely start a lot of unnecessary violence that the government could stop if it was still there.

I would prefer to live without a government rather than under a government. One reason I am for this is because governments can coerce its citizens. Taxation, for example, is an involuntary transaction where citizens are forced to pay, with a threat of jail time, for what a government deems necessary. If whatever that is being funded by these taxes was worthy enough to its taxpayers, there wouldn't be a need for these taxes to be mandatory because its citizens could voluntarily pay for these utilities if it were in their best interests. A second reason I would prefer to live without a government is that governments limit freedoms. Governments around the world limit person freedoms by controlling its citizens or by spying on them. Without a government, there would not be a centralized power that could enforce rules that limit personal freedoms and privacy onto the populace. Another positive of living without a government is that there would be no wars caused by government. Furthermore, there would not be a single authority to declare war against as society would be made up of separate private properties. Also without government, people could not be forced to aid in any war effort if they do not choose, unlike many countries today which have some sort of draft or mandatory military service. In conclusion, I would prefer to live without a government because governments are coercive, infringe on personal freedoms, and are responsible for wars that can force involuntary participation of its citizens.

I agree with this. One, taxes are forced upon citizens from the government; which is only necessary in the government's view. Often the government does not use our taxes in a way that would always benefit everybody. Two, government limits the free rights of people. Though making laws is seen as helpful, it still makes people follow certain rules, which is not freedom. And lastly, there would be no wars influenced by the government. This would lead to people not having to sign up for military services.

If your house caught on fire and you didn't live under a government, who would you call for help? To add, how could you ensure whatever system of education is implied to meet decent standards? There would be no basic laws to prevent catastrophes or create initiative to have good morals. And finally, what personal freedoms would you gain without government? At least in America were given rights as citizens that seem decently fair to me.

Secondly we are strictly speaking of living under a democracy which being spied on is only conspiracy and cannot be proven. They are responsible for maintaining regulations on goods, provinding services such as public transportation, and ultimatley helping society in achieving a safe lifestyle. I do agree somewhat with the idea that having a government will chip away at people's rights. All in all, having a government will help society maintain a safe environment.

I understand your concerns of how we are being taxed and other issues like privacy infringement, but i believe parts of your argument are invalid. For starters, if there were no mandatory taxes then the government and its connected organizations would not be funded sufficiently. I do not disagree with lower taxes but most people in this society would not want to pay, in some paces nobody would pay at all and wouldn't mind because of the non-existent punishment. To refute your argument about War aid, there could still be a government that did not have a draft, there have been no major world wars recently and a country like the United States has one of the largest and arguably the most powerful in the world, where a draft may not even be necessary due to many people enlisting in on free will. As well without a government a uniform organized military force would be hard to accomplish, leading other countries with an organized military to defeat them.

I disagree with this statement. For one thing, taxes aren’t completely a bad thing, we don’t just pay them for no reason. Also, the government uses videos cameras as a tool to help us lower crime rates. Also, if they didn’t limit our freedom the world would be a mess and people would be committing serious crimes constantly. My last point is that without a government there would still be war, the war would just be unorganized. All in all, I disagree with this statement.

I do not agree with your opinion about how living without a government is better. One of my reasons is that taxation is in place to better the economy in your country and if you are not willing to pay those taxes that everyone is paying then you should have some jail time. These taxes also help pay for our military and our education that is free to everyone as long as they are not avoiding paying their taxes. The second reason is if there was no central power people would make their rules and mini civilizations and start having wars. Also without rule will cause mass chaos and that will cause major damage to all of the U.S that will cost money to fix but at that point money will be useless. Lastly wars will no matter happen due of disagreements between country's and continents.

I disagree with this. While you are right that it is necessary to pay taxes, it is an example of an individual's worth in the basic acts of democracy. It is necessary to pay the taxes to cover the costs of other's jobs such as firemen and policemen. Also without a government, these jobs would not even exist. The voluntary work you say others would complete is risky. You having faith that others would risk their lives in some cases to save others who they may not even know. While some might, others would rather save themselves. Also, let's say that there was a fire. While some might be willing to put the fire out, there would most likely be chemicals found in the water because the government is the one who cleans and filters the water. With these chemicals, the reaction with the fire and heat could make it worse, ultimately killing more people. Although you have a strong argument, I cannot agree with you and I believe we need a government to keep a strong, healthy, and united nation.

Your paragraph makes valid points but it lacks in many. That is why i disagree with it. If the government gave us absolute freedom then the country will be in complete choas and its is every man for themselves. Also without taxes we would be hurting other people lives and their jobs. What you are saying about the draft is not in correlation with the u.s it does not have a draft for the army. People choose to go into the army to serve their country.

I disagree with this opinion because taxes are necessary for basic human and public services, that without taxes, could possibly not be funded. I also disagree with this because, although this student has a point about governments forcing people to join the military, without a government there would be no protection for the country. This student is saying that without the government there wouldn’t be any wars caused by the government. Yet, without a government or any social structure/order, other countries could (and most likely would) get involved with war because they see that there is no organization to the country. The government is responsible for providing services that are needed for the country. The government helps build a society that is orderly and strong. So without the government, a country could turn chaotic and could end up in turmoil.

This was an interesting comment, however many problems arise that were not confronted. For instance people are social by nature and form groups in order to survive. If this is true then wouldn't another lesser form of government arise. War as sad is it is to say happens, and people are dragged into to, but that is because people start it. The government is formed by people. People can be corrupt, money greedy creatures, and that will never change. Removing government wont eliminate this problem, it will only amplify it.

Without a government there wouldn't be order for a period of time but overtime it would fix itself. People would just need time to form their own communities, groups, or civilizations. There wouldn't be federal or sate laws but when people come together they could form their own rules and sysems in their own community. While violent crimes would all be technically legal groups would most likely let people know they still aren't allowed to and punish whoever is caught. Without a government people could have freedoms and live their own way of life instead of having to live under rules that can be unfair to a lot of people. In some ways it could be bad but it could still be a good thing once people have some type of order.

I disagree that living without a government makes people more free. It may seem like it but actually there would be so many problems of violence, stealing and taking away of people's rights because there would be no authority to enforce laws and punishments. To have the rights and freedoms you want, you have to respect other people's rights. Unfortunately not all people are willing to respect the rights of others. There must be a structure in place to make and carry out justice. In history, when justice is left up to individuals it can be unfair and cruel and unusual. You can't have people running around making their own punishments for crimes. Government is necessary but should be agreed on and run by the people. Laws should be fair and made by elected officials.

I agree with your statement about an order forming overtime. With all the turmoil I'm sure order would rise. This thought is almost natural selection because the stronger or wealthier individuals would rise and make order. Your statement about having a new government who would be good and helpful to the average man. Although if one group or individual has this much power I believe they would probably not be to kind with it.

I would prefer to live under the influence of a government then without one. Although the government does chip away at our wallets because of taxes, the government is trying to improve the region it governs. For example, they take the money from taxes and use it to refurnish roads to make traveling more safe. They test the water and foods to make sure they meet proper standards. The government provides services such as public transportation, weekly trash pick-up, and many other services to help. The laws they create are to ultimately help society become a more peaceful place. Some may disagree and say that they laws are "too strict" or that they "oppress the natural rights of humans" which in some aspects may be true. However, government was the one who created the rights in the first place. Without the government, people would be left without any guidelines and chaos would arise. All in all, the government is here to protect us and help maintain a healthy environment.

I agree with your argument. The government provides us with services that benefit our daily lives. If people believe that the government is too strict, we should speak up and change the laws in the democracy since we live in a republic. Without guidelines, people would fight over power and the society wouldn't be equal. And our rights wouldn't be protected. The government definitely protects us and helps to maintain a healthy environment.

Personally, I believe that the US government should be more like a confederacy than a federal system. The current system limits the state governments from doing what they think would be best for their people and is above the states, but should have the local governments be able to overpower the federal government on their laws (ie. legalizing marijuana legalization). The federal government should be either nullified or far more limited. Most of the things done in Washington DC are useless, especially politicians who just argue and waste tax payer money, and the idea of a president is also fairly useless because all the president do is make people hate him and potentially ruin foreign relation. The only thing that the federal government does that is actually useful is protecting us from rival countries. There should be an overall code for these states to follow and they are not allowed to put special tariffs across borders and in times of need are required to send soldiers to help protect the untied states. They would be united states, instead of a group of 50 states being forced to listen to a few guys argue over what they think is best for states they don't know about. In all, local government should always take priority over federal, unless the states violated the constitution or are attacking basic human rights.

I disagree that the United States should be more like a confederacy. The United States already tried a confederacy and it didn't work. Every state had the option of only obeying the laws that they wanted to. This didn't work so well. I also disagree about state governments being able to override the federal government. If this happened, Maryland could override the federal process needed to declare war. If they got mad enough at Wyoming, there could be a war between them while the rest of the country remains peaceful. Finally, I disagree that local governments should have priority over the Federal government. If local government had priority, Camp Hill's laws could be vastly different than Mechanicsburg's laws. This would make everything a mess.

I believe that a government is not necessary. First of all, people would not be “slaves to money.” We wouldn’t spend our lives making money to support ourselves and our future families, or making money to survive. Also, we wouldn’t have to pay taxes anymore, 10-30% of our earned money is given to the government, even though we pay taxes every time we buy something that isn’t a necessity. People also say that our govermnent protects our rights, but how can that be true when our right to bear arms could possibly be taken away? How will we protect ourselves when needed? Also, education wouldn’t be forced. We could be free to learn whatever we may choose, and we wouldn’t have to learn about things that might not be relevant to us or benefit us. Teachers could teach how they want, and students could learn what they want. Without a government, there would be no laws. I think that the crime rate would go down, due to it not being illegal anymore. Money wouldn’t be an issue, people wouldn’t be robbed as often and things would decrease in value, making unnecessary crime decrease. We also could do whatever we want with our lives. We could pursue whatever career we find interest in, without considering the amount of money we’d be earning. We’d have freedoms due to the lack of a president and laws. Some people might also not feel like “serving the country” or doing things in favor of the government are no longer necessary, although our military is helpful. We might also have more privacy without a government. We could say what we want. It is said that we have “freedom of speech,” yet there is proof that we can’t post what we want online if it goes against our government, and people definitely can’t say whatever they want for two main reasons. One being that it could create problems with other people. And two being that what we say can’t be against our government or it will create problems with them. We have freedom of speech to an extent, and that would no longer exist. Also, political debates would no longer exist. This could also eliminate fueds over leaders with other areas, which is helpful. Overall, having a government would lead to less problems amongst other people and areas, and more freedom and privacy would be allowed.

I understand your overall argument, but respectfully disagree. As you said “slaves to money”, and how we wouldn’t spend our lives based around it, you have to realize that money is just a concept. No matter what we will need some system of trade or else what will we do? Money is just a simpler version than to actually physically trade things. And you talk about how the government is taking away our right to bear arms, but that is to protect us. Our country has the highest amount of shootings this year and it’s not even the end of the year yet. We can’t have violence like that, and with no government I’m sure the amount of violence would increase because there would be no punishment. You say that we would be free to learn whatever we choose, but if teachers could teach how they want then how could we be sure they will teach us what we want to learn? Along with this, it is important to learn so that your brain can function properly throughout your life. Saying that “we could pursue whatever career we find interest in” is contradictory to the idea of no government. Workihg would not be very stable if there is no government to regulate or make sure you are doing what you’re supposed to, and that you are getting back what you are putting in. When you state that freedom of speech is denied our country because it creates problems with other people, that has nothing to do with the government. No matter where you live or if there is a government or not, if you say something that others don’t like they will go against it.

I respectfully disagree with your statement and claims. Even though taxes and taxation is generally viewed as a negative aspect of the government, it is actually used to help better some parts of society. For example, taxes help pay for an improved roadwork and sewer system. In addition, the government isn’t taking away the people’s rights, but rather modifying them to help prevent dangerous situations from occurring. As you stated, the right to bear arms is a very controversial law that, if it would be changed in the future, could help prevent horrendous events, such as school shootings from happening. If there is no government to enforce an educational experience, I believe that students would most likely not learn, due to the tedious and “boring” aspect of school and learning. Also, I believe that crime would sky-rocket, since there is no government and no laws to enforce safety and order. Furthermore, money would become more of a concern, as there would be no united currency to exchange, since the government can’t produce it. Finally, I respectfully believe that there is a difference between “Freedom Of Speech” and stating what is politically correct. Although you would have more of an extended “Freedom Of Speech” without a government, you would still want to obey the moral expectations and rules of society.

While governments can be beneficial, they are not at all needed. All benefits that come from having a government are relative to how the government is run. Quality of food or water could be made worse (Flint, Michigan), there could be very little food at all (Pre-revolutionary France), relations with other countries would be terrible (North Korea). The entire concept of government was constructed by human imagination for order and protection, but it is a very real possibility that the government can become corrupt, and be harmful to the majority of peoples. Humans are compassionate by nature, we developed a powerful packbonding ability to work in large groups as an extreme evolutionary advantage. We would still be helping each other without the government, and many issues that lead to violent crimes, namely issues surrounding money, wouldn't exist, so one could make the argument that there would be less crime without government. Overall, even though having government can provide many benefits, it can also be extremly harmful, and is not neccesary for human life.

The water situation in Flint, Michigan was due to the government failing to do its job. A lack of government regulations wouldn't have helped the situation. While the food shortage in France was partly due to the government, the people eventually overthrew the government. Although there are still authoritarian governments today, history has shown us that as time goes on more countries become democracies. I agree that in groups humans will naturally want to work together however, the larger the group, the harder it is for everyone to cooperate. Groups would have their natural size limit and it would be difficult to get all groups to work together.
