It's not hard to answer this question. Obviously, money can make us happy as long as we use it at proper purposes. With money, we can surely have a comfortable life and we can offer others comfortable lives as well. Using money to do donation or volunteering or you can use money to guarantee your kids to have the best education and living conditions- these make you happy, right?. on the other hand, let image that you have not much money and you have to always squeeze brain as well as energy to find money, how you can have a happy life.

Technically no, but Poverty makes happiness really hard. So in my opinion, and for most people, wealth is a necessary goal if you want happiness.

Yes there are many rich people that are unhappy. That's no reason to say that being rich is a bad thing. Which is the feeling I get from cliche sayings like this, and movies where the bad guy is always rich.

You can be happy and rich, that should be your goal, if you're sane that is.

It helps, but you can't just have large wads of cash and expect to feel too good about it. Unless that's what you were after. But that's a whole different category. The pursuit and accomplishment of life goals is what makes people happy I think. I'm not saying have uniform and completely set out goals, but know what you want and get it. If money is what you want, then get it. If it isn't, then don't worry about it too much and love what you have.

Side: Money cannot buy happiness.

It depends on what makes a person happy. But since not every person can be made happy through items that can be bought, money cannot universally buy happiness.

I'm being semantical, and I'm not sure why, BUT, the question asks, "can money buy you happiness?" not, can money buy anybody happiness. So, can it buy YOUR happiness?

Side: Money can buy happiness.

I don't think so. I've never had the opportunity to experiment with that (hopefully one day I will!), but I don't value money, really. I value... hmm. I value change. I value experience. I don't think money guarantees either of those things.
