There is a common argument that women cannot be sexist because of supposed societal privilege towards men. That argument is common? Could you provide some examples of it being used, because it doesn't make any sense and I have never heard it be made. This societal privilege means that only men can be sexist because sexism is "institutional" There is institutional sexism, but I don't think anyone believes that is the only form of sexism. While institutional sexism almost always favors men, individual sexism can be held by anyone, man or woman. Side: Yes, women can be sexist.

Side: Yes, women can be sexist.

You shouldn't be too concerned about those. Two of them are random users posting on blogs, and the third (well, second in order of links) is only talking about institutional sexism. Here's some examples, while I agree that there is institutional sexism in some places, there is virtually none in western, democratic societies. That is simply not true. It is nowhere near as bad as it used to be, but when still lack anywhere near sufficient political representation, women are still payed less for many of the same jobs, women still receive many jobs at lower rates (with the same qualification) and receive promotions at a lower rate (again, with the same qualifications). It may not be anywhere near as bad as it used to be, and it isn't as bad as it is in the non-Western world, but to say "there is virtually none in western, democratic societies" is categorically false. Side: Yes, women can be sexist.
