No they are not similar. They are different. I know the difference between Islam and Christianity.
-Islam believes that Jesus came down from the cross and became a muslim
-Islam believes that Gabriel the archangel is the Holy Spirit
-Islam believes that when Jesus comes down for His second coming that Jesus will kill all the Christians because they didn't believe in Allah.
-Christianity believes that Jesus is God and not Allah
-Gabriel the archangel is not the Holy Spirit it is Jesus
-When Jesus comes for His second coming He will take His followers and people who believed in Him
-Jesus died on the cross and He never went off the cross
-Jesus rose from the grave.
Also when Islam teaches that Jesus came off the cross. Christianity teaches that if there is no ressurection then are teachings our useless and there would be no salvation and we would still be a slave to sin and dead in our sins.
-"Islam believes that Jesus came down from the cross and became a Muslim"- Nope we believe that Jesus was saved by Allah and that he was never crucified.
-"Islam believes that when Jesus comes down for His second coming that Jesus will kill all the Christians because they didn't believe in Allah." That's not true, we believe Jesus will rule the Earth for 40 years before the day of judgment.
Allah is literally Arabic for God, Allah is in the Arabic bible.
We believe Gabriel is an angel, the angel who spoke to Muhammad.
"Also when Islam teaches that Jesus came off the cross"-Jesus was never crucified in the first place, according to Islam.
Why don't you watch this video? The first part of the video they just talk about whats going around the world the news. If you watch later on it will show how Islam rejects Jesus is God's Son there is part 1 &2;. Fast forward it to 7:40 and thats when it starts.
Jack Van Impe--Islam Rejects Jesus is God Son 1 of 2
No they aren't weak its the truth. If you watched later on you would realize that Islam and Christianity are different and some of things I listed were pointed out in the video. That is fine if it has no value to you. Your science and evolutonary theory and philosophy doesn't have any value to me ethier.
All videos posted in an argument are weak as far as I am concerned, even if they support something i agree with. I hate it when people do it. videos take forever to get to the point, and usually are of a low quality of argument meant to appeal more to emotions than logic.
yes, I understand; Reality has little value to you.
That is why I say to fast forward it to 7:40 and then it starts from there. If I have the time to watch a video then you should have time to watch a video. Stop making lame excuses about how the video is weak if you would actually watch the video you would realize that the guy used factual documents from the Quran that says that Islam reject that Jesus is Son of God.
i'll watch it now but I know Islam rejects Jesus as God...................................................................................................
They are incredibly similar. I know you're only saying what you're saying through ignorance, but do some research before you comment. Besides, it doesn't change my answer that Islam and communism are compatible.
I did do some research and I found out that those things I listed is was true because this guy I watch every single Sunday, he said the same exact things I listed when I did my research.
I didn't dispute what you listed, although I could have done. What matters is that Islam and Christianity are very similar. Of course there are differences, I don't dispute that. But they are definitely comparable.
They are not similar, and debateleader just proved that himself. According to Christianity, God and Jesus are the only divine deities. Jesus was not rescued by anyone, although God offered to prematurely end his suffering on the cross. Jesus refused, died on the cross and was resurrected 3 days later. Also, according to Christianity, during the Second Coming, Jesus will take his followers back to Heaven, he will not stay and rule for 40 years.
OK, you've listed one difference. I don't dispute it, because as I have said, of course there are differences. But, if you strip both religions to the bone, the makeup is incredibly similar.
Funny how it's only Christians and Muslims disputing me on this.
Not because we disagree there are some slight similarities, but it's because to say the two religions are "incredibly" similar is somewhat of a stretch. Recently, debating on the issue of my own religion has put those of others just trying to defend theirs also in a new light, and so I don't want to insult others, but it is safe to say Christianity and Muslim are fundamentally different. :)
but it is safe to say Christianity and Muslim are fundamentally different. :)
Fundamentally? I disagree.
You believe in the same God as each other.
You both believe in the afterlife.
You both believe in heaven and hell.
You both believe in angels.
You both share near identical moral law.
You both believe in judgement day.
You both believe in prophets.
You are both Abrahamic.
So, fundamentally, you're very similar. But, there are key differences within your stories, which I acknowledge. It doesn't change that the two are damn near inseparable without reading about Jesus.
But the difference in beliefs over Jesus' identity and how he suffered on the cross is a fundamental difference. In Christianity, our personal relationship with God is defined by the act of sending Jesus to die for our sins.
We also have differing beliefs as to the way God and Allah admit an individual into Heaven. In Islam, when you do wrong, you must follow directives found in the Qu'ran. Even though they do so, it is essentially up to Allah to either grant them mercy or not to grant them mercy when they're faced with Judgment Day. This is called 'falah', meaning "self-effort or positive achievement." On the other hand, Christians have faith - we believe no one is worthy of the Kingdom of God, but through Jesus, and God's forgiveness, we will be allowed into Heaven when the time comes.
well really we believe that you go to heaven if your good deeds out weight your bad deeds. Allah is makes it easier to get good points than bad points. How? If you think about doing good, it counts as a good point but if you think of doing something bad it does not count. If you sin, you can have the bad point removed but the good point will always be there.
Obviously they differ on opinions on specific details, such as most of what you listed, but would you say that Islam is closer to Christianity than Hinduism, or Taoism, or something.
I would hazard a guess that you don't know many Muslims? There's much more to Islam than you see on the news, were I a Christian, I would see no issue being similar to Islam, it shouldn't be a negative (if that's how you're taking it).
I can't deny media has darkened my view of Islam, although I still know not all Muslims are like that. Even so, it's not that I am offended by the similarities, it's just that there aren't that many. Many religions have some similarities but they are fundamentally different.
If you looked down at debateleader you will see where I got most of my information. Go to youtube and type in Jack Van Impe Islam. There will be a video called Jack Van Impe: Islam reject Jesus as Son of God. And he said that he had documents from the Quran that says all that stuff that I explained and you disputed me.
Yes Muslims say that Jesus is a prophet. But He is not a prophet. A prophet was people in the Bible like Isaiah, Daniel, Jeremiah, and all those other people. Jesus was not a prophet. He is the Son of the Living God.
Yes , similar. Except for the part they deny the divinity of Christ, and his death and resurrection. Which is the essential doctrine of Christianity. well ...
Have you read the Q'ran? It's basically just a plagiarism from Christianity. The things that you're complaining about are surprisingly more trivial than I think you believe.
I tried to read it, in arabic, since i'm an arab speaking person, still it was too hard to read. So i stopped. BUT. I read many excerpts, and comments on it, and ... i still am not convinced by your theory.
Muhammad was a merchant that knew quite well the ambiant civilizations : the Coran is a mix of Old Testament tales told in a different way, roman law told with different technical words, greek science, and arab superstitions.
But do you concede that the Qu'ran is unmistakably similar to the Bible? If so, then the wording is irrelevant. I just go one step further and call it a plagiarism.
Actually, we believe that the The Torah and The Bible were almost the same as the qua'an. First God sent The Torah, it got edited and therefore God had to send the Bible, it got edited and finally God sent the Qua'an which told everyone to burn a qua ran if it has a difference as tiny as a word. He did not want it to get edited. To prove that Muhammed (pbuh) did not steal Ideas from the bible and the Torah, Muhammmed could not read or write, and there was no translation of the Bible in Arabic in Muhammed's time.
OMG... YES Satanist and Communist possible but Muslim and Communist impossible. The Communist Party of the Soviet Union and some Islam teaching are different,Communism is the doctrine of the conditions of the liberation of the proletariat. .... joining the proletarian movement but Islam is science ,Communism is a type of government that relies on collectivization of labor and good to equal out the classes. Muslims rely just to God and his laws , thats' why person can't be Muslim and Communist..
The fact the communism states that everyone has freedom in their religion. also communism can only be achieved worldwide. It is a common fact Communism never existed.
