It depends who the author is. If you have a good book from the same author/illustrator and the cover of that book is the same sort of style as this one then the chances are that book will be the same sort of thing as the other. Also, you cant not judge a book by its cover - we all do it naturally. If you have a Jacqueline Wilson book (Nick Sharratt is AMAZING) and then you have a v...e...r...y l...o...n...g book on the history of canals with a plain front, you'll obviously read the Jacqueline Wilson one. Then you'll realise your sister swapped the covers and what you thought was the history of canals is actually the Hetty Feather trilogy! Side: Yes

you can't judge a book by its cover because the title or the picture of a book doesn't show in some cases what it contains really inside , many writers try to put a controversial title to attract readers but when you start reading it you find out another story or opinion . Side: No

My version of Animal Farm has a bunch of animals on the cover. Really with that name and that front cover you'd think it was a childrens book. To kill a mockingbird, mine has a mockingbird on it... I mean, you look at War And Peace and you think "Ooh a Napoleonic war novel!" No. You can't judge a book by its cover. You can sometimes get a vague idea. But that's about it. Side: No

And this contributes to the argument how...? I personally think that you cannot judge a book by it's cover, although the cover in general will give a hint to the basic mood and idea of the book. If it features a person, it can give you hints about the main character(s). For example, many 'gossip books,' generally aimed towards teenage girls, will have hot pink covers and feature a 'hot' girl. In this case, you can get a basic idea of the plot, but it can tell you nothing about the quality. Side: No
Yes, we shouldn't judge a book by its cover. I've read few books which were good, by the way, but the cover, is not that good. I think you get interested to buy a book because of it's cover, but it doesnt necessarily mean that if it has a good cover, then it is a good book. Side: No
