Can you judge a sinner by their sin alone?

For example. Erik and Lyle Menendez killed their parents because their parents sexually molested them. So is Erik a bad person? Or is he a good person who made a bad choice? Can you judge a sinner by their sin alone?

Awesome. Yet another Christian who appears not to have read the Bible.

As a matter of fact, I have!

Ever read the book of Job?

We can only judge by the now, not by what is to come. If you killed your physically abusive dad, does that make you innocent of murder?

The last time I debated you on the Bible, you were scrambling for your life, never once knowing even the most basic of Biblical concepts. It was a pleasure making you look like a little clown. It took almost no effort at all.

I am debating this without brining the subject of God in because we are being asked, not God. We are assuming that we are being asked to judge someone. No one else, not any infinite being, presumed or otherwise.

No. God searches the entire heart. Man cannot see quite that far.

No, because we are all sinners in the eyes of God. So my sin is as bad as everyone else's because all sin is equal in the eyes of God.

What is a sin?

Only people who believe in a god can participate in this debate.

I cannot speak for all atheists, like myself, but I do not believe in such a thing as a sin.

You don't believe in snakes in nude? You'll have to read more National Geographic.

Sin is a direct rebellion against what God commands us to do. If you don't believe in sin then it doesn't matter because you actually do sin daily.

Side: Yes
Eloy(190) Disputed

There is no such thing as a god or sin so I do not sin daily.

Pretending you don't know what a sin is is a sin. Ignorance is not an excuse for breaking the law.

What is a god? What are you talking about?

I have never seen one atheist who believes they are sinners because to admit that would concede that you have sinned against God and deserve to die. Atheists are too proud to admit they have done wrong......and cannot acknowledge objective right or wrong because the Highest is the Standard of right and wrong.......atheism denies The Highest One, God who created all things.....it's just silly.

Actually later reports declared that Eric and Lyle Menendez killed their parents so they could go on an orphan's picnic.

So, in this specific case the answer is yes.

Side: No

If you like to show up for your good deeds why not the bad ones also?

You kill your mum for molesting you?

are you alright?

If you weigh the two molesting and murder in human standard, you the murderer will certainly have some surplus overwhelming the "molesting act" to own up for.....

That is your punishment too...

It's like subtracting 15 from 100.

You gain back 85..... even though your mum died she only paid for her 15.

Take murder and molesting to court and see how they are weighed.

You will be judged by God for your sins. He knows you are guilty, and you are being held by His mercy outside of Hell under a death sentence, awaiting final execution. You have time to repent of your sin and believe His Son paid your price as the ransom for your soul to save you from Hell. If you will not believe He rose bodily from the dead willing and able to cover your sins with His blood so you can be fully pardoned by Him, the One who would have been your Savior will be your Judge after He tired of you trampling His blood under your feet as you continue in your sin and you will be cast away forever lost in the lake of fire where the smoke of their torments will rise forever. Amen.

There is no such place as Hell so there is no need for salvation.

Thank you for illustrating the hope of fools. Sad you resign yourself to being lost, and even worse when you get proof that Hell is real and you are not saved.

Side: Yes

Do you want proof that Hell is a literal fire where people are punished for their sins forever?

Just keep saying there is no Hell and you will get your proof soon enough.
