I feel that this is a leading question with a thinly veiled presupposition that if you are against gender transition you don't understand science. My experience on this topic would lead me to believe that the vast majority of people are not against gender transition but are concerned and resentful at the subject not only being taught to primary school children but being promoted and in many instances being presented as a normal condition, which it's not. Children who appear to identify with a gender other than the medical classification in which their biological genitalia would place them should receive discreet professional considerations but without coercing them into making early decisions to go for gender reassignment surgery as soon as they are of an age to do so legally. Nature, or, if you are a believer, God has bedevilled such people with a cruel psychological condition. Let the LGBT groups along with all other sexual deviants merge quietly into society without all the victimhood bellowing, promotional parades, protest demonstrations, special days and dedicated weeks . Overall, you can't understand the science and be against gender transition. A good description by the original poster. There is still scientific evidence emerging on the subject. There are legitimate areas of gray. Two I can think of is transgender athletes and the exact age irreversible surgery should be used. The problem with delaying gender transition is the psychological harm while waiting for more information. Overall, the main problem in my opinion with transgender is just plain ignorance on the public's part. I am no exception, I really don't know enough on the subject.
