Canada's election

Canada got a political facelift recently. The Liberal Party smashed the polls and ousted many conservative seats across the board. A combination of "anybody but Harper" and the want for more responsible policies concerning the environment likely pulled many young liberal voters to the polls attaining Canada's second highest voter turn out. Canada's new Prime Minister Trudeau may have it pretty easy for the next few years.

Trudeau has some sweeping changes planned that puts Canada in a different direction than before. The liberal party certainly won enough seats to make good plenty of campaign goals for sure. The platform the Liberal party ran on sounds familiar; cut income taxes on middle class and raise taxes on the wealthy, address environmental concerns about the Keystone pipeline, stopping bombing raids against the Islamic State, legalizing marijuana etc.

Will this effect US politics this election cycle?

The most I've heard about him here is that he's "hot". Of course I guess that's more than usual considering the US media rarely reports on anything outside of the US (unless it directly involves us, like Iraq, Iran, Syria, etc). Anyway he looks like a douche bag to me and his politics seem exactly like our libs here. It always seems to work this way with us and our allies.... we're never on the same party at the same time. Canada wanted Keystone, Barry didn't, now PM Douche doesn't want Keystone so I'm sure we will end up with Dump or Boosh who will be for it. 😕

Also, I'm not sure what the question was here so just ignore me.... just passing through.

Just a bit of a clarification, the Liberal Party in Canada is closer to a Centrist Party that leads slightly to the left.

In terms of the Left-Right dichotomy, the NPD would be the Left Wing party of Canada, though they are Socialists unlike our Left Wing Democratics.

Edit: Now that I rethink it, in terms of pure ideology I actually think you are right about the comparison, though that is its own commentary own the ideological dichotomy of parties in the Western world.

Soooo, you have no say if or how Canada's latest elections will effect US elections?

What do you think is your contribution to the topic?

This Judas has withdrawn his Nation's support from the U.S, led coalition against the psychopathic murderers who call themselves Islamic State. He has opted for a ''FREE RIDE'', and as is usual with all self-serving cowards, is going to let the United States and it's more dependable allies, such as the United Kingdom, do the dirty work for him. This is something which everyone should remember when booking Canadian holidays, doing business with or just buying Canadian goods. My own view of Canada as a reliable and steady ally has changed completely and I shall be boycotting all things Canadian.

And how do you think Canada's elections will effect, if at all, US elections?
