Capitalism isn't natural. Capitalism is carried out, and forced upon the masses by a small group of selfish, greedy people. Before the USSR collapsed, 70% of the people voted to stay in the USSR, but they split because of a small group of capitalists who pushed their agenda on everyone else. The reason why capitalism prevails is because captalists are far more agresive than the comunists. That doesn't mean it's natural. Animals are not always competing against each other either. Animals also frequently cooperate, and share with each other. Look at ants for example. Even if animals did practice capitalism, wouldn't you want to achieve something more than animals? Side: True

Dear bronto, I have quite possibly never heard anything so exhaustively stupid and blatantly false as the claim that: "capitalism is natural". First, the best "source" you have managed to find for this assertion is a Reddit thread. That alone is sufficient enough reason to dismiss it outright. Second, the Reddit thread you have sourced is about trade, not capitalism. Trade is obviously not the same thing as capitalism because trade predates capitalism by tens of thousands of years. Third, capitalism is a parasite on trade, because it senselessly modifies the individual motive to trade from need/desire into profit/greed. Thanks to capitalism, the price of everything to be traded is raised arbitrarily by the seller so that he/she can make a profit. Hence, this results in a world which is no longer occupied by "traders" but by rich producers and poor consumers. Finally, since goods are no longer produced on the basis of need but are specifically made to sell, this results in a litany of other problems, such as marketing. Since you might not want to buy a particular item and hence contribute to the wealth of a particular individual or company, it then becomes that individual and/or company's job to persuade you that you want it. I have quite possibly never heard anything so exhaustively stupid and blatantly false as the claim that: "capitalism is natural" Hello h: When I was 6, I traded a few marbles with a kid down the street.. The marbles I traded FOR were better than the ones I traded away.. Obviously, the kid down the block thought that he traded up too - a WIN WIN, if you will.. Was it a REAL win win??? Both of us thought so, and who's to say different? Personally, I go through my day happily transacting with people.. When I BUY a delicious meal from a restaurant, I feel WONDERFUL.. You feel ripped off. I cannot imagine going through my day and begrudging EVERYBODY I did business with. It must be disheartening to feel RIPPED OFF 10, 20, maybe 30 times a day, EVERY day.. No wonder you HATE society.. It's gotta be the stuff of serial killers. DUDE! excon Side: True

Dear bronto This isn't my thread, but lets go with it. I have quite possibly never heard anything so exhaustively stupid and blatantly false as the claim that: "capitalism is natural". Sure ya have. Would like me to copy and paste your debate waterfall? First, the best "source" you have managed to find for this assertion is a Reddit thread. That alone is sufficient enough reason to dismiss it outright. Pretend he didn't link reddit, and respond to the debate. Pretty easy isn't it? Second, the Reddit thread you have sourced is about trade, not capitalism. Trade is obviously not the same thing as capitalism because trade predates capitalism by tens of thousands of years. Everybody stop and point at the clown with me... Side: True
