Christians: can you justify these bible quotes?

If a man's testicles are crushed or his penis is cut off, he may not be admitted to the assembly of the LORD

When two men are fighting and the wife of one of them intervenes to drag her husband clear of his opponent, if she puts out her hand and catches hold of the man by his privates, you must cut off her hand and show her no mercy.

Are you a Christian Crusader? You kinda look like one in your pic...

I am not a Christian in most practical senses but these verse are often the most misunderstood verses.

If a man's testicles are crushed or his penis is cut off, he may not be admitted to the assembly of the LORD

This is a common misinterpretation and trivial word choice by the translators. When this verse is analyzes for it original content and message you will see that this was not at all reffering to heaven in any sense, but the state or church affairs of Israel.

John Weasley explains it quite well:

"The congregation of the Lord doth not here signify, the body of the people, but the society of the elders or rulers of the people. Add to this, that the Hebrew word, Kahal, generally signifies a congregation or company of men met together; and therefore this cannot so conveniently be meant of all the body of the people, which could never meet in one place, but of the chief rulers, which frequently did so. Nor is it strange that eunuchs are excluded from government, both because such persons are commonly observed to want that courage which is necessary for a governor, because as such persons ordinarily were despicable, so the authority in their hands was likely to be exposed to the same contempt."

The second verse:

When two men are fighting and the wife of one of them intervenes to drag her husband clear of his opponent, if she puts out her hand and catches hold of the man by his privates, you must cut off her hand and show her no mercy.

This was old testament law of the land. If a woman's husband was being contested by another man with strength and power that exceeds the husbands, in some instances, the woman would run to the stronger man purely out of the lust of his power.

" This immodest action was done partly out of affection to her husband, to oblige his antagonist to let go his hold of him; and partly out of malice and revenge to him, to spoil him, and make him unfit for generation, and therefore was to be severely punished, as follows." - John Gill.

The assembly is "to be understood [as] the elders, judges, and representatives of the people, that met together in some one place to execute judgment on earth, not for those who go to heaven." God has given everyone roles in society.

What is the problem here?

I'm not a Christian but I'll take a stab at it.

If a man's testicles are crushed or his penis is cut off, he may not be admitted to the assembly of the LORD

No sex changes, simple enough.

When two men are fighting and the wife of one of them intervenes to drag her husband clear of his opponent, if she puts out her hand and catches hold of the man by his privates, you must cut off her hand and show her no mercy.

She was probably cheating and she meant to grab his Johnson and for that reason she was trying to be clever about it, but actually wasn't so her hand needs to be cut off.

Those are dangerous Bible verses and they should be removed from the Bible.
