Climate Change is a moral issue that requires people to respond.

Do you agree with The 11th Hour or Patrick Michaels & Sen. Inhofe?

Global warming is a serious issue and people need to speak up. Although it might not happen in our time, if we do something about it now, we could save a future generation.

Side: Yes, need to respond

I think people should respond in small ways that could make a big difference in the long run. It doesn't take much and it shouldn't be frowned upon to care about the environment and try riding a bike instead of driving a car, donating money, or helping people out that live in different areas. People shouldn't criticize others for caring enough about something to try making a difference.

I agree that climate change is an issue, and people need to do what they can to help and impact it, but that said the origin of global warming may come from many sources. (Not ONLY humans)

I am on the side of that people need to respond to the changes in our climate. Diagrams in the film have shown how the new climate is effecting our environment and our people

Yes I agree that the diagrams shown that climate is changing and effecting our environment, but climate has been changing for millions of years and it just happens to be that we are caught in the increasing temperature of our world.

People need to respond because they are the ones being effected by it. If they don't do it the outcome will not be a good one and then it will effect everyone.

Climate Change has been here for a long time but since the late 1980's our carbon emissions have increased drastically as well as our global temperatures. Many species have gone extinct to this, and since I know someone will say its because of hunting, i will acknowledge that part of reason for species extinction, but climate change has also messed with the ecosystems natural work.

Point Made.

I agree that climate change is a moral issue that people need to respond too. The earth is showing signs that what we are doing to the earth is not healthy for us or earth its self. If we want to stay healthy and alive we need to start taking care of the place we live.

Side: Yes, need to respond

Yes, climate change is a moral issue that requires people to respond. Yes climate change has been happening for a long time, but that's why we need to start acting now because we are seeing bad results from it. If we keep letting it happen, soon there will be no us, no more life on Earth. "Earth has all the time in world, but we as humans do not" (The 11th Hour).

Side: Yes, need to respond
2 points

Yes! Climate change will soon make the earth an inhabitable place for life. Humans are the only living things on the earth that pollute. It is a moral issue, because we pollute everyday and don't do a single thing about it. Think about your car, its always emitting carbon di oxide and combusted gases. Another major issue is the plastic issue. How many plastic wrappers did you already throw away today? Just think about where all the trash goes, how long it takes to decompose. As humans we produce so much waste and pollution just to live, heat our houses, and get around. This needs to change soon or earth may not be what we think it is.

its true climate change has been here for a long time.

climate is very unpredictable through out life as much as we want to believe we know it well maybe we do but i'm sure you would agree on the fact that things like this change drastically and can majorly affect life on earth.

despite what it says on the movie yes its our faults but we could most likely find a solution to this but we need the right people as seen and said on the movie.

it needs to be noticed as a problem.

Side: Yes, need to respond

People have a negative effect on climate change. Power plants and the smoke we put in the air is getting stuck in the atmosphere creating heat to be trapped on earth. According to the 11th hour film the earth is property and we take advantage. This is explaining that we need to change our ways and how we live. Use less chemicals that is harmful for the endearment and global warming.

I agree, climate change is an issue, and people need to do what they can to help and minimize the impact of climate change, but that said the origin of global comes from the earth itself humans have only sped up that process.

It is unfortunate that some of the scientist's calculations and predictions have been inconsistent and therefore open to contradiction by amateurs.

I first heard about global warning at school in the 50s/60s when I was introduced to the research of a Swedish scientist on the subject.

The issue had little, if any impact on me, or anyone else for that matter but his observations and conclusions have since proven to be indisputable.

His research revealed that shortly after the industrial revolution in England, around 1750, the severe winters which invariably resulted in the river Thames freezing over, ceased to exist and all the rivers in the U.K, seldom froze with solid ice ever since the ''satanic chimneys'' began bleaching their poison Co2 gas into the atmosphere and changed the lives of the unsuspecting population of the world forever.

It was probably around the 1960s before scientists began to collectively realize the dangerous impact Co2 gas was having on the world's Ecosystem, some 200 years after the commencement of the process.

Even though the detrimental effects which mankind's activities has had, and continues to have on the the environment may be erratic at times, they are nevertheless predominately accurate and should be taken seriously and viewed with extreme concern by everyone.

Yes, climate change is a thing that has impacted our lives, but we will never out live the planet. We can slow down climate change but cant stop because when we die we give off carbon-14.

I'm going to make a huge assumption and say that the majority of humanity wants its species to exist as long as possible over anything else, so in that case, global warming needs to be addressed as soon as possible, to increase the likelihood of a longer presence in existence.

We need to respond to the climate change because its affect our world, our lives and the new generations, we need to think in our actions, try to be better persons, we don't have another world to move if we destroy this.

Climate change is a big issue that we all have to take apart in. There is many evidence regarding to climate change. From rising temperatures, to extreme amounts of greenhouse gasses in our atmosphere these past years have been the highest temperature in recent years.

Here's a news flash........ climate has been changing since the beginning of time.

The environmentalists in the Democrat Party have been giving money to the Democrat Party for decades. First they told us that we were going through a global cooling stage. When that deception did not pan put, they changed it to global warming.

When the temperatures did not rise as they claimed they would, when they said we would have a record number of hurricanes in the Atlantic ocean but turned out to be a record LACK of hurricanes, when they said the melting ice caps would have Atlantic beach homes swimming in water but never happened, they once again changed the name to climate change.

WHALA! That name covers it all no matter if it is warming, cooling, hurricanes, no huricanes, record rain or record drought, et. etc.

I do not believe one word out of their mouths. It is all big money politics.

Even if it turns out to be true a thousand years from now, the rest of world would not cut the throat of their businesses to cut green house gasses. If the entire planet is not on board it would be insane for America to waste our time and be non competitive to the world.

Scientists already say it might not even matter if we cut green house gasses because of the gasses already in the atmosphere.

I am fine with common sense actions that does not hurt business nor the consumers who as Obama said would have to pay much higher electric bills.

These same leftist clowns told my generation that there was a hole in the ozone the size of Antartica and we'd all get sucked out or fried. Then one day, we just quit hearing about it. The topic just vanished... poof! What happened to the scary hole?

Here's a news flash........ climate has been changing since the beginning of time.

No scientist denies this. The issue is that climate is changing outside its normative boundaries of fluctuation, because of human impact.

The environmentalists in the Democrat Party have been giving money to the Democrat Party for decades. First they told us that we were going through a global cooling stage. When that deception did not pan put, they changed it to global warming.

Actually, the first mention of anthropogenic climate change was the term "global warming", which is happening. Global warming simply means that the average yearly temperature across the entire Earth is increasing. Note the word "average". Some places do get cooler (mostly due to melted arctic ice making its way into ocean currents), but overall, the Earth's temperature is increasing. The reason the term most commonly used now is "climate change", was to make the whole thing easier to understand for pea-brains like yourself who couldn't comprehend the mathematical laws of averages.

When the temperatures did not rise as they claimed they would

They have, on average.

hen they said we would have a record number of hurricanes in the Atlantic ocean but turned out to be a record LACK of hurricanes

Hurricanes are increasing overall.

http://nca2014.globalchange.gov/report/our-changing-climate/changes-hurricanes#intro-section-2

when they said the melting ice caps would have Atlantic beach homes swimming in water

Eventually. And they will, eventually.

but never happened, they once again changed the name to climate change.

It's irrelevant what it is called. The facts of the matter are:

1. The overall average temperature of the Earth is increasing.

2. It is increasing outside natural deviations.

3. The major reason for this is a higher concentration of greenhouse gases.

4. CO2 levels in the atmosphere, through natural climatic processes, tend to fluctuate between 175ppm in ice ages and 300 ppm in warm periods. Humans have increased the concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere by roughly 60% more than standard deviations allow for: CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere now sit at around 400ppm.

That is significant.

I repeat everything I said. Their models are most times wrong. They have no clue what is actually happening. If it is a naturally occuring normal fluctuation of gasses, if it is man made, etc.

It's amazing how when they say we will have record nmbers of hurricanes ON THE ATLANTIC COAST, and then have fools change the claims when it does not happen.

Most things they say does not happen as predicted, and then they change their theories as to why.

I am not some idiot who wants these corrupt liars to increase my electric bill on their love affair with the marsh mouse.

I REPEAT, it is all about money and politics!

If it is true that it is man made, then ALL NATIONS ON THIS PLANET will address it.

They will come up with some new technology that removes gasses from the atmosphere and utilize it for our own use.

While I do believe that global warming is a thing that could be happening I don't think it's happening like people say it is.The weather won't be the same all the time, just because we've had some warmer winters recently doesn't mean the end of humanity is on the way.We should start doing something about it but we definitely shouldn't freak out like most people do.

Side: Not a serious issue.

I do think it's a serious issue but I wouldn't call it a "moral" one. Heck, there are probably 50 different ways on 50 different issues each day where our lifestyles are doing harm to the environment and if we're going to start calling all of them "moral" issues then the only morally right thing to do would be for everyone to just dig a grave and kill ourselves in them.

Side: Not a serious issue.
2 points

It is not a serious issue, because the climate is always changing. And has been for the amount of time that Earth has been formed. Sure we may have the RECORD for the highest temperature that is KNOWN to man, but that doesn't mean that it hasn't been hotter in the past. There could've been temperatures way hotter back then, then there is now. People often think that the Jurassic era is a extremely hot time, thus most of the animals were reptile like, and there wasn't as many natural disasters.

We have a whole lot more to worry about then just the climate such as drugs, hunger, poverty and more i could go on and on but i wont. I understand that the climate is getting warmer but that's just part of life and we can do this or we can do that but either way the earth will either cool or warm up and that's it. Its life and thats all there is to it

The only purpose for some to support climate chnage is because they want government grants to study it and the government wants to create a carbon tax to give them billions of new dollars to steal. If all of the humidity in the atmosphere condensed into rain it would only raise the ocean level about 2 to 3 inches. And if all the ice melted it would only raise the oceans another inch. I don't think that's going to flood anyone out. But all its about is new taxes. Once we made ( supposedly ) everyone change refrigerants we haven't heard a thing about the ozone. But did you know the single largest users didn't have to change ? The government didn't and they use more than 50% of the refrigerant.
