To "take out" those who would start a war, without resorting to "Shock and Awe"! Cheney would have us "saddle-up" and show "them" who runs the world! Obama is trying to get "them" to, at least, carry the burden of their own conflicts! Cheney wants a chance for Halliburton to make more money .... no matter how many Americans die! Side: They like to intimidate.
That's a sort of contradiction in terms as it's the communist/ left wing regimes which engage in these spectacular displays of military might. If any on the western powers engaged in such provocative shows the loonie lefties would be bellowing their special pleading anti war drivel from the roof tops. Side: It's a form of defense.
Conservative /right wing regimes just do it more subtly, They spend all the money, brag about how ready for war they have made the country, and quietly put the money in their pockets. The result is the same, the Communist/left wing(?) has a bigger parade next year, the Conservative/right wing has bigger pockets next year. The rest of us, right OR left, just get to wonder when the parades and pockets will bring about Armageddon! Side: They like to intimidate.
