Constitutional monarchy vs absolute monarchy?

A Constitutional Monarchy is where the monarch is the head of state and a representative of their country, but has virtually no power in running the country, or only has power in the event of an emergency. This sounds pointless, but sometimes having a monarchy is a good defence against military coups, for example in Spain, Thailand and Greneda. For example, when a military group held the Spanish Parliament hostage in 1981, King Juan Carlos I responded by making a TV speech urging people to stand up for their democracy. The coup soon fell apart when the perpetrators discovered no-one was supporting them.

An Absolute Monarchy was the favoured way for governing countries in the Middle Ages. Basically, the monarch would have the power to make whatever laws they want and disagreeing with them is treason. Of course they had advisors, and would delegate jobs to various officials, but the monarch would have the last say in everything. The obvious disadvantage is that many monarchs were more concerned about their own enjoyment than looking after their own subject, others made stupid decisions and some were just plain mad.

Tourism brings money into the country and increased employment, theres also Jubilees, Royal Weddings and Birthdays which normally gives people an extra day off and a big party, most of the time though it makes no difference to your everyday normal life

constitutional is.'cos a king/queen doesn't have an authority, but they're official heads of a country. parliament has the power. if it is absolute monarchy, it means at that country common people can't have promotions.

I would support a mix of constitutional monarchy and absolute monarchism. For example, to the extent of the monarch’s power being limited, the monarch should not execute people for not agreeing with him/her such as Henry VIII had done. But with the power of the constitutional monarchy, the people have to power to elect their parliament and PM. With in the constitutional monarchy, the King shall have a Royal council that helps direct the monarch to make sound policies. The monarch should also be the final say when citizens make grievances to the King/Queen. As with Absolute Monarchy/Constitutional Monarchy, the Monarch must respect the basic and fundamental Human Rights of all people.

So are you saying that they both must respect the basic and fundamental human rights of all people or in your opinion saying that they should?

Is the constitutional monarchy also known as the limited monarchy?

However, a Constitutional Monarchy must adapt to the times.

If you're going to have monarchy go all the way. Making this fantasy about heroic queens and brave kings will only downplay in our eyes real kings and real queens who might actually oppress someone.

If there is indeed heroism or wisdom in the monarchs deeds there is only one right thing to do: Let it go, don't overproduce or distort it with this meaningless constitutional adaptation. It will live on in our culture.
