Coronavirus: Trump 'can't imagine why' US disinfectant calls spiked

President Donald Trump has said he "can't imagine why" US hotline calls about disinfectant have risen after he suggested injecting the substance to treat coronavirus.

The governors of Michigan and Maryland on Sunday blamed the president for the spike in such calls.

Following heavy criticism from medical professionals, Mr Trump said his remarks were made sarcastically.

Trump doesn't say much that doesn't have to be "explained" or walked back later. That's another reason he's just flat out NOT QUALIFIED to be President. Misunderstandings between leaders can lead to wars … as can sarcasm. We need someone who can speak English fluently and clearly with foreign leaders. There are 5th graders that can speak English better than Trump … even without it written out for them … and THEY actually know what they are saying!

The tragic thing is, THIS BASS gets OTHERS in trouble when he doesn't keep HIS BIG MOUTH SHUT! There are crazies hanging on his every word, believing and doing whatever he says. The Lord Trump hath spoken! The good thing is, those that follow his "expert advice" are Trump voters …. may they rest in peace. Most of those trying to "free" Michigan and Wisconsin, NJ, Del. etc. are Trump voters. Sadly, the first responders and medics that may have to care for them, mostly are not … especially after his ridiculous response to their needs throughout this pandemic! :-( (that's NOT my "sarcasm" symbol) He seems intent on destroying his voting base …. maybe he's gambling they'll still be alive long enough to vote for him again … after that it won't matter. ;-) (THAT IS my sarcasm symbol ;-).

Anyway, the right always accused the left of "drinking the Kool Aid", so, here's to ya, righties! I'll drink the Kool Aid, you enjoy your disinfectant, compliments of, and recommended by, your Dear Leader! ;-)

He just needs to stop talking period. Clearly he is incapable of making comments that are not either, A. dumb as hell or B. Just flat out wrong.

In this case, he was commenting about a possible idea but his method and delivery fell into category A. He needs to stop oversharing information, zip his lips and stick to talking about what American's need to hear. Not supposition, not potential ideas, not his twitter account, not how he's the victim of whatever he thinks he's the victim of today....just shut up and deliver the facts that actual scientists, doctors and professionals in the field, present him.

It isn't that though. Not for me, at least. Everybody is wrong from time to time. If the man said something which later turned out to be stupid and he held his hands up and took the blame for it, I'd respect him for doing that because it illustrates that he is willing and prepared to learn. The fact that he jumps straight into lies instead is what nourishes my complete lack of respect for the man.

On a lot of occasions when Trump is making speeches he should carry a spare bucket so he has somewhere to put his other foot.

In this instance I suppose he didn't really think there would be anyone who would be crazy enough to actually ingest disinfection, but he was wrong, there are plenty of idiots around.

They spiked the month before he made any comment because disinfectant sales went up due to Coronavirus. This has already been debunked per data.

Calls to NC Poison Control spike in March as people try to protect against coronavirus

North Carolina Poison Control said Monday it received 682 calls about household cleaners in March. That’s a 50% increase compared to March 2019, when the not-for-profit group says it got 454 calls.

Cleaners such as bleach and disinfectants are commonly involved in chemical exposures in the home, according to group, and they’re being used more during the coronavirus pandemic.

Jesus Christ you are SUCH A LIAR. The BBC article is discussing a spike which occurred AFTER Trump made his comments, not BEFORE he made his comments:-

During Monday's Covid-19 news conference, a reporter noted that the state of Maryland's emergency hotline had received hundreds of calls in recent days seeking guidance about Mr Trump's comments.

Recent days. Do you understand what "recent days" means you retarded Nazi halfwit? Recent days does not mean two full months ago. In fact, that doesn't even matter in the first place, because the article is absolutely clear these people were specifically asking for guidance about Trump's comments!!

There is absolutely no information which you will not try to distort and spin. Nothing is sacred to you. You are filth.
