Could anybody ever deserve the death penalty?

No one deserves anything as a general rule. I believe justice to be subjective.

But given a general understanding of the human condition, if it were that we could somehow know guilt 100% of a crime, it would be in our best interest to get rid of humans for committing specific extreme crimes like murder or even rape.

However, we never know anything 100%. In fact, we find out later we killed the wrong guy all of the time.

So deserve? Yes by our subjective view of justice.

But should we? Probably not just in case.

Well since it is so hard to determine whether or not someone is 100% guilty of committing any crime, I would say no. You cant take back death.

Death comes to us all.

It's just a matter of time.

Death is better than certain forms of torture.

We should save tax dollars and hang all serial/mass murderers/rapists.

I believe in an eye for an eye. In China they cut your fingers off if your caught stealing, they cut men's manlyhood off for rape. So if someone kills someone else, that person should die the same way they had killed the other person.

According to our Founding Fathers, treason MUST be punishable by death.

everything else, as David pointed out, is subjective.

Side: Treason

No. The Death Penalty is cruel and unusual punishment and should be abolished everywhere.
