Could the Bible be mis-interpreted?
The Bible was translated from written documents that most people didn't understand, and passed down by word. Some of God's written word could be comepletely untrue for all we know.
Example: "Love thy neighbor." However, we interpret that homosexuality is not what God and Jesus wanted. But the Bible told us to love eveyone. Double standard maybe. >_<

I honestly think (and my parents are Catholic, so I have to go to church every week) that religon is just some story to make people feel as if some one cares about them. i think the Bible was just some kid's book that some idiots messed up then said it was a religion. Maybe Harry Potter, in a thousand years, will be the new Bible. Maybe people will pray "Dear Hogwarts-y Harry Potter, please help me with my exam tomorrow" or "Harry Potter, spread magic on this meal. Make it warm and yummy. Amen." Most things in the Bible are mis-read. Many things didn't happen, they were parables. Parables are supposed to be interpreted by the reader, and the readers are all different. So when they read it in church, or CCF, and tell you what it means, they're not right! It doesn't mean the same thing to everyone! Side: Yes, some could be mistaken

Not just misread, but the main flaw people make in reading the bible is reading it and interpreting from their perspective. If you actually want to understand how this 2000 year old book was meant to be read, interpret it from the perspective it was written by: The Ancient Hebrew people of the Bronze Age. Look, I am Christian and I have been in numerous churches. I know when I say "everyone will see anything in the Bible." Every priest will have a different preaching for the same text. Usually, the lessons are similar but there is always a twist, another way to think about it. Side: Yes, some could be mistaken

I'm just going to post on this side, since no reasonable person is going to argue that the bible cannot be mis-interpreted. The very fact that there are over a hundred different denominations and sects proves that someone somewhere is getting it wrong. Side: No, God's word is true
