Could there be an "edge" to the Universe?

So my topic is basically "Could the Universe come to a stop somewhere out there?"

If it did come to a stop, what do you imagine would be on the other side?  Of course, there is no way for us to ever know this.  But it is always fun to imagine.  Do you think there is another Universe?  Maybe we are the sixth, seventh, hundreth Universe to expand and contract throughout (what humans call) time?  (Hugely vast, incomprehesible time)

Thoughts, ideas?

I will be the one to start off...

I think there could be an edge, althought it is difficult to imagine what could possibly lay on the other side.. if there was such a thing.

And I also think that our current, giant Universe is one of just many before it to have swelled up and then shrunk back down.

Just a fun way to think about it, I want to see what other people think.

It seems to me that we're treating the universe the same way peoples thought about the ocean when they first started exploring it: that it's flat and must go on for ever or that it had an end, they never thought in the 3rd dimension as the Idea of the world being round was stupid and herectical, due to the fact that land was "flat".

We could simalarly be assuming that the universe is in 3D when it could in fact have a 4th dimension which if we travel far enough in one direction we end up back where we started.

The thing is we really don't understand the universe all that well. If it is infinite, it is almost impossible for a human to wrap its finite mind around an infinite plane of reality. Physics as we know it says the universe is constantly expanding, but there is a lot of very complicated theories about this topic with people much more intelligent and educated than I am working on the answer to this question. For now I will leave it up to the astrophysicists and great minds of the worlds but I don't truly understand the concept so I can't rule out the possibility definitively.

I don't know how we could possible know... I've always thought that maybe this is just one of billions of universes, the way that the Milkyway is just one of billions of galaxies... But if that is the case then what exists between the universes?

In my opinion, I think the universe has no end. The universe is infinite.

How would you know? You haven't witnessed the universe infinitely expanding.
