Custody hearings should take a child's biological parentage into consideration.

First and foremost the courts should consider what is in the best interest of the child. One of the many factors the courts should consider is the important of a chid growing up with parents that are related to them by blood. This is important as it is assumed this is something the child would want. However, there are many other factors to take into account and it may be that it is in the best interest of the child not to live with their biological parents. Parentage certainly isn't the most important factor when determining custody.

Side: They should

Such a ruling would be a prejudiced one. I don't think biological parentage should be a factor.
