(This is a real story in Japan that most take seriously... ) The Legend Of Shirime As the legend goes, back in the days of feudal Japan, a lone samurai was patrolling the streets of his town at the dead night. Suddenly, he hears a voice call out to him; “Wait… wait for me” ”Who’s there?” The samurai asks, but got no reply. He cautiously looks around but finds that he is alone, and continues walking down the street. He only takes five steps before the voice called him the second time. ”Wait… I am coming. Wait for me, …samurai, wait…” ”Who’s there? …Show yourself!” The samurai yelled, his voice faintly trembeling. A strong gust of wind making one of the trees crack was the only answer he got. The samurai turned around, and continued down the street. A minute later, he hears the voice once again. ”Wait for me …I am closing in, samurai…wait for me” The voice appeared to be whispering right into his left ear. With his fast reflexes, the samurai quickly spins around, drawing his sword, and as he turned he saw greyish, pale man about 30 feet away from him rapidly approacing him in a dark cloak. The samurai could not see the face of this man, but he could see his hands. The mans long, skinny fingers were opening his cloak, and letting it fall to the ground, showing his grey, boney body. The samurai was like frozen to the ground, and could not move a muscle for his life.Now the being was right up in front of him. He could smell, almost taste, it’s sour breath on his face. Suddenly, the grey one turned around, bending over. Right were his anus would have been, should have been, a huge glittering eye was glaring at him. What happened next is not known, but fair warning to those who may someday find themselves walking along Japan’s quiet country roads, the Shirime may still be out there...
