Death Penalty

Is the death penalty something we should keep doing?

Pro.

Some people just don't deserve to keep on breathing my air.

Cop killers. Woman killers. Cold blooded murderers of sound mind. (Hell, even the retards who kill and try to cop the insanity pleas, we should kill them to, as it probably best for them. We're really doing them a favor. You're welcome! LOL)

Let's also eradicate drug dealers and Child molesters. A guy like Bernie Madoff shoulda been whacked as well. Oh, and serial poachers too. We homo sapiens are but one species of animal, after all. No better than the others, Even worse than some. So killing them is murder..

The only problem with the Death Penalty as we now have it in most states is that it is not used nearly often enough. Nor is it employed quickly enough. Florida and Texas come the closest to using it efficiently, but they are still a might slow.

Nobody should have to wait on Death Row for more than 60 days after being sentenced to death, before they are snuffed.

We should also allow states to employ their own methodology of killing. Like hanging, which I believe Kansas did up until the late 1960s! Good for them.

Burning at the stake, in Town Square, after being whipped would be pretty cool for baby rapers I think. We could Televise it. Have an entire TV channel devoted to it, called the Execution Channel.

They should do scientific drug experiments on them. Make a positive out of a useless soul.

Yes, under certain circumstances. The purpose of prison is rehabilitation, if someone is beyond this why should the taxpayer fund their entire life?

People who are proven guilty of multiple (say 3) serious crimes, for example, three separate murders, cases of rape, abduction or child abuse. Who have been convicted and released twice before and commit a third crime.

These are not people who can lead normal lives, they must be kept out of normal society at the taxpayers expense. A painless, private death saves money and resources in overcrowded underfunded prisons. And on the off-chance that someone innocent gets convicted, they're unlikely to get convicted of something this serious on three separate occasions so they wouldn't be innocent, just innocent of this particular 1 of 3 crimes.

Maybe we should focus on the fact that our prisons are failing to rehabilitate people. You're suggesting we just kill people we can't figure out. Also, there are solutions to prison overcrowding other than murder. How about shortening sentences for minor drug offenses?

Side: Against

This argument cannot be based unless we have a specific example of which the accused did.

I personally believe that killing another human being is inhumane and wrong, let alone having a career dedicated to putting criminals down (with the exception of our military and armed forces). I think that a compromise can be made; If criminals with a life sentence want to be put down, they should have the option, similar to physician assisted suicide for terminally ill patients in Oregon.

The death penalty costs more money than giving someone a life sentence. While I believe there are certain crimes that are unforgivable, the death penalty is a waste of money and it has killed several innocent people. Therefore, I don't believe criminals should get the easy way out, and they should have to live in prison for the duration of their life and deal with whatever they did.

Killing people is wrong.

Doesn't matter what they've done.

Two wrongs just don't make a right.

Take two lefts and you go backwards, not forwards.

I believe in both sides of this debate. I believe that the judge of a case should look through the case more thoroughly. It would be terrible if the person were sentenced to the death penalty, and end up being innocent of the crime.

Side: Against

The fact that innocent people have been killed is the only legit argument against.

It's the only necessary argument.

I believe that the death penalty is wrong. When we execute a murderer, we are basically justifying their actions by murdering a person.
