Debate Topics - Do you have a favorite to delve into?

If you're on this site then you love to debate!  But which topics are your absolute favorites to ask about or answer?  Some people love the serious debates within a topic or two while others look for not so meaty debates throughout the spectrum of topics.

What's yours and why is it a favorite?

I joined CD at the height of the frenzy which was Election 2008! I don't think I got into anything else until the election was over or it didn't seem so anyway. I loved arguing Democrat vs. Republican, Conservative vs. Liberal, Clinton vs. who knows who and finally Obama vs. McCain. I don't even know if I realized there were so many other categories until the election was over. All of us seemed so caught up in this one. Fangs were out and zingers flying across the boards each day until it all got redundant! I loved it all.

I even tried to get into some World politics or happenings and they always seemed to fall a bit flat. So I gave that up and went back to USA politics, lol! Now I simply see what I've been invited to participate in and what on the first two pages of debates and kind of stay there. I never bother to check where the debate is listed because that doesn't interest me...just the topic does. I love it all and love being a part of this.

Same here! Thats when I joined. Being my first election to vote in. I took a lot of interest in politics. The 2008 Election will always be remembered. It's like everyone got interested in politics.

I usually debate in the politics debates. sometimes religion debates but I got sick of those, for obvious reasons. I don't usually debate in the business or sports section.

Arguing is fun, if done right. I enjoy all arguments Religious, Political, Philosophical, they all required the defense of a certain stance, and contain the ability to change stance.

As long as the rebuttals are intelligent, I'm good either way.

I pretty much joined this site because I'm different from most people in my life when it comes to perception of religion and politics and so on. And it gets pretty lonely when you can't find a single person to agree with you on something. In fact, it makes me wish I was dead. But anyway, I'm mostly into the religious debates because I like to see what people that think OUTSIDE of the bible have to say about religion and God and so on. But i do participate in some of the political posts too as well as an occasional interest in everything else posted.

religious debates r always fun to 'dip a sack into', without wanting to sound crude but they r allot of fun, assuming that the question being debated is a good one, i.e. why do Muslims take their beliefs against what it says in their bible? or something to that effect.

i hate politics so i don't debate much on them

Side: Religious mostly

I enjoy almost all subjects in science, human rights, and will delve into politics. I'm more into policy than debating left vs right vs moderate vs idiots, which most of them are, lol.

And any topic that has a bunch of misinformation in it drives me nuts, I'll spend hours arguing points that don't really matter.

I really love the religious debates because I am so set in my ways, I rarely have nothing to say. I guess that's what happens after four years of religious studies in high school. :)

But when it comes to ethics, I leave religion out because one of the things I can't stand is when somebody says I believe something, ethically speaking, because my religion feels that way, which is never true.

I am bitch. I'm kind and sweet and have the best wishes for everyone... but I bitch for peace.

I was hoping this particular site would be an outlet for my public accosting of purbs and and other bitches.

Like usually I don't bitch at people who use too much plastic at the grocery store, I just silently glare at them. But last night this douche bag had used a different bag for every type of produce. He had a few carrots in one bag, two oranges, and a single onion... all in separate bags... Which is awful but I usually would just slip in an "I don't need a bag" while he was still in line and hope he gets the message. However, this db had the nerve to be waring a little plastic bracelet that said "iLiveGreen"... So bitch got a verbal beat down about fashion statements, hypocrisy and of course environmentalism.

So no, this site hasn't help my attitude... but I still like it.

Haha, you're a wee bit funny there. About that plastic bag issue... I totally get it. But I'm never the one loading my own groceries. Some clerks put like 3 things in a bag and 2 things in another and it's pretty annoying then I shove one bag of stuff in another bag of stuff so that I have less bags to carry. What gives? Trader Joes certainly knows how to load a friggin bag though.

I just got an idea for a new topic... tootles.

OMG! Was that you glaring at me? I almost put that onion in with the carrots but then I was like screw that bitch! ;)
