Democrats are intentionally lying about the word nationalism

4 points

Nationalism Is Not Only Possible, It’s Essential

There has to be something concrete that makes those of us living in the United States more than just co-residents who share little other than proximity. There has to be something that makes 300 million people into “we” and “us.” That something is nationalism.

This question doesn't make any sense. What exactly did the democrats say about nationalism?

Republicans are intentionally lying about the word socialism

Not interested in copy and pastes of the dictionary's definition of Socialism, eh Nom?

Oh. Come back here Nom. Brazil tried Communism. It didn't work. They threw the Commies out of the country. You are welcome.

I predate Nom on this site by over several years. What on earth makes you think were the same person?

And you misunderstand what im saying. They intentionally lie about socialism by claiming that social democrats and even democrats in general are pushing for socialism when they are not.

Democrats rigged their own primary against bernie who is the farthest left person in the senate. How on earth are they socialists or communists when they wont even support a banal social democrat?

And bernie and other justice democrats like Ro Khanna and Ben Jealous and Ocasio Cortez are not socialists either.

They want a strong, well regulated free market economy. They do not want to abolish capitalism whatsoever and never claim to. They all support reinstating Glas Steagall which is a regulation banning the mixing of consumer and investment banking. They support using anti trust laws to break up monopolies and encourage competition. These are intended make capitalism work better. If their goal was to abolish capitalism then having these policy goals is entirely counter intuitive and a waste of time.

They want exactly what exists in Norway and Denmark and Canad and France and Australia and the UK and every other modern nation on earth. All of those countries have capitalist free market economies and increased social program spending. That's it.

When they talk about the problems of capitalism theyre talking about how they want to fix those problems, they are not arguing to scrap it.

So im not contesting what the definition of socialism IS. Im contesting the narrative on the right that these people fit that definition. Because they dont.

And you reinforced my point by bringing up Brazil. Nobody is trying to abolish capitalism and emulate brazil. You bringing them up is a fallacy which attributes policy goals to the left that they do not have.

If you want to argue against social democracy and medicare for all and free public college and the scandanavian system then go ahead. But i wish we could actually have that conversation instead of just sidestepping it and claiming that these leftist politicians want socialism when they dont claim to nor do their platforms and voting records indicate that

Republicans are intentionally lying about everything. If you asked a Republican which colour socks he is wearing, he would garble incoherently about Al Gore.

Here's me doing one of two things. Spinning or copy and pasting. You decide...

Definition of socialism

1 : any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods

2a : a system of society or group living in which there is no private property

b : a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state

3 : a stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done

I think what youre driving at is the "whataboutism" which has become a widespread discussion/debate tactic among the right.

Bring up trumps taxes and you get "what about the clinton foundation?"

Bring up Trump's lack of proper use of security measures when handling classified information and you get "what about hillary's emails?"

Bring up Trumps pro military intervention stances and you get "what about obama?"

None of it negates the argument being made. It just sidesteps it and changes the subject. I constantly have to respond by saying that i do not condone what hillary did. it was wrong THEN and its wrong NOW. BOTH are wrong at the same time. Now answer my goddamn question with an argument lol

True. Ironically, the word "nationalism" was coined by a Democrat.

The only way democrats can push their agenda is through lying; it's core to liberalism.

It is almost impossible to think the democrats (Or as I like to call Demonrats) can lie more than they already do, But nope!! This is why no one likes them, all they do is lie and you can't trust anything they say.
