Kind of like a theistic funeral, except you are less likely to hear people say "S/he is in a better place now".

The person that has died is the only one in attendance in the near distance there is a band playing and party going on. A sign can be seen where the party is happening that reads; St. Patrick's. The priest ask if he had any boys.

A gathering to mark the passing of someone, during which you can't bow your head, close your eyes and go to sleep, then claim you were just praying.

A formal gathering of the deceased's acquaintances to pay respects. There may be speeches describing what the deceased was like and how great of a person they were.

I'm not sure about the other atheists but I would personally give my body away to science. Its useless if its just sitting there rotting. As for other atheists who have had funerals, I guess its just like any other funeral.

I saw Pat Tillman's funeral on TV and there were plenty of political dignitaries there who praised him.
