Did Adam and Eve have belly buttons?

If belly buttons come from an embilical cord, did Adam and Eve have belly buttons? If not, what's up with all the paintings?

Yes. Adam did but his was higher up than ours and was left after god ripped his fcking rib out to make Eve. And Eve had one but it only served as a back-up vagina for Adam's pleasure.

Damn no wonder Adam went for the forbidden fruit. She was probably holding out on that belly button

To compensate for their absence of belly buttons they were provided with copious amounts of Cadbury's Chocolate Buttons upon which they gorged themselves thus causing God to include gluttony as on of the deadly sins.

This of course is an allegory and, like the rest of the Biblical scriptures, is not meant to be taken literally.

The codebreakers at Bletchley Park have been working relentlessly since WW2 to unravel all the scriptural metaphors and encrypted text of the Bible.

It is hoped that as computer technology advances this work will be completed by the year 2090 when those who are interested will be able to be understand the true message of the Bible.

They shouldn't. If they did then they weren't the first creations. Only people born of another human should.

It's a story told in an allegorical way that represents the fall of man. "Adam" isn't actually a name. It's literally the Hebrew word for "mankind". Consider my old debate with NowASaint as exibit A-

Adam isn't actually a name ... well, if Adam isn't real then neither is Jesus ...

For as in Adam all die .. so also in Christ all will be made alive ..

but each in his own order .. Christ the first fruits .. after that those who are Christ’s at his coming ..... 1 Cor 15:22-23

He's real, but his story is told in an allegorical way. In Ezekiel the Garden of Eden's "trees" aren't actually trees.

Here is the dialogue of the Ezekiel reference-

http://www.createdebate.com/debate/show/ NowASaint sGenesisclaimisabsurdandwrong

In this passage Assyria is real, but the way it is described is allegorical. This passage literally says that Assyria was a beautiful tree in the garden of Eden. In the KJV and some other translations it says "the Assyrian" rather than "Assyria". Interestingly enough the antichrist is referred to as "the Assyrian" and is considered Satan incarnate.

I suggest that it is plausable that the tree that caused the fall was/is something like the antichrist, and the tree of life was/is Christ. Of course those terms would be meaningless to Adam and Eve at that time most likely. The "tree of life is reoffered in the book of Revelation. Of course we know life only comes from Christ.

Some people believe the Ezekiel passage is God addressing Satan "the beautiful tree".

"'Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says: Because the great cedar towered over the thick foliage, and because it was proud of its height," Ezekiel 31:10

Some say the great cedar is Satan.

"I gave it into the hands of the ruler of the nations, for him to deal with according to its wickedness. I cast it aside," Ezekiel 31:11

Some say this is Satan being put into the judgement hand of Christ.

"All the nations of the earth came out from under its shade and left it." Ezekiel 31:12

Other Biblical passages infer that Satan was the one who "ruled the nations" and was looked at in astonishment at his fall. Of course Christ rules the nations in the end.

"All the birds settled on the fallen tree, and all the wild animals lived among its branches." Ezekiel 31:13

Some say this is "Satan's fall".

He, Satan, is fallen from Heaven according to Christ and Revelation.

"Therefore no other trees by the waters are ever to tower proudly on high, lifting their tops above the thick foliage. No other trees so well-watered are ever to reach such a height; they are all destined for death, for the earth below, among mortals who go down to the realm of the dead." Ezekiel 31:14

"'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: On the day it was brought down to the realm of the dead I covered the deep springs with mourning for it; I held back its streams, and its abundant waters were restrained. Because of it I clothed Lebanon with gloom, and all the trees of the field withered away." Ezekiel 31:15

"I made the nations tremble at the sound of its fall when I brought it down to the realm of the dead to be with those who go down to the pit. Then all the trees of Eden, the choicest and best of Lebanon, the well-watered trees, were consoled in the earth below." Ezekiel 31:16

The words "sound of its fall" are used in reference to Babylon and Mystery Babylon in Isaiah, Jeremiah and Revelation.

"They too, like the great cedar, had gone down to the realm of the dead, to those killed by the sword, along with the armed men who lived in its shade among the nations." Ezekiel 31:17

In this verse Satan is referred to as "the dragon" and as a serpent.

http://biblehub.com/revelation/20-2.htm

Point? The serpent isn't literal in the Adam and Eve story. It's simply Satan himself.

Here Jesus says to "eat of me" for eternal life. He is the "tree of life" in the Adam and Eve story.

http://biblehub.com/john/6-56.htm

In the Adam and Eve story to live forever you eat from "the tree of life".

http://biblehub.com/genesis/3-22.htm

Here Jesus says his words are life.

http://biblehub.com/john/6-63.htm

Here Jesus says that he is the only way to life and God.

http://biblehub.com/john/14-6.htm

Here Jesus talks about people bearing good and bad fruit by their words and actions.

The point? The Adam and Eve story is told as an allegory.

Here Jesus says that if you eat and drink of him, you will never go hungry or thirsty again.
