Did the Onion's Subtember 11th ad go too far?
New Subway Promotion To Honor Subtember 11
Many people were outraged, but it's hard to be funny when you're always playing it safe. Did they cross the line this time?

Are you fucking serious? OMG capitalism stoops to a new low, as if it couldn't of gotten any worse. Then you wonder why most of the world HATES fucking Americans, we have no shame or honor so long as we make a profit, then 80% of the asshole here in America have the balls to call themselves Christian, American capitalism makes me sick. Side: Yes
most of the world HATES fucking Americans In short, 49% like us and 31% don't Side: Yes
You do know them polls are mostly from westernized nations (or in bed with America for profit) and there allies right?, It's not like they can go take a poll on this stuff on nations that hate us, besides America owns the polls and media, the only main stream media that America doesn't have there hands in are outlets like RT News (Russian owned), Al jazeera (Muslim nations), every thing else main stream is owned or propagated by America and there Allies. American media can blow up buildings in front of the world and make it look like Donald Duck went rogue and did lol. Also look at the map of Participating Countries, of those counties 31% dislikes America, now add in the other counties that did not partake in those polls. Side: No

There are very few subjects that should never be joked about. Perhaps the artist wasn't personally affected by the events on 9/11, but that doesn't make this acceptable. I too was not personally affected; my parents didn't work in the city and neither did any of my extended family nor my friends (considering I was in 5th grade with them). But many of the towns around me have memorials for people who lived here who died that day. Almost 3000 people perished that day and to make matters worse, the events of that day 12 years ago helped to spark not one, but two wars in the Middle East. I don't know the numbers, but thousands of soldiers and innocent civilians in the region have died. Mocking September 11, 2001 is akin to mocking the bombing at Pearl Harbor in the 1940's. Side: Yes

You just have to be there to truly understand the horror. I find some nine eleven jokes funny but I want to respect those who died that day and those who tried saving lives. Because if I was in their position and I survived, I would think those who laughed are really sad people. But then again, it is better to laugh than cry at times. It is tough to choose a side. Oh how absurd! But seriously people make jokes about the holocaust, black death, hell, all the time. If you can't learn to laugh then what's left? Cry at events that really don't concern me? Obviously you shouldn't laugh in the faces of the victims' families, and they did go too far. I am just sick of hearing about this, you know they made us do a minute silence thing at our school? I highly, highly doubt the Americans hold minute silences for any of the terrorist attacks launched on Britain... Yeah they went too far, but I posted in this column because I'm not one of those uptight " you can't laugh at this- THOUGHT POLICE" type people. Side: No

Its in poor taste and I didn't find it very funny, I posted this side because when it comes to comedy i'm not a great believer that there should be sacred cows that your not allowed to joke about and as Jungelson said people make jokes about bad things all the time some of which I find funny. There was something on the telly the other day making a joke about princess Di which I found very funny and i've also heard some very tasteless but funny stuff about the Jimmy Saville scandal so I'd be a hypocrite posting on the other side. I do think they went too far though. Side: No
