Did universe exist before big bang?????????

i read this article in a local news paper recently:-

Scientists may have uncovered evidence that the universe existed before the Big Bang.

Concentric circles discovered in cosmic microwave background (CMB) radiation — the after-effects of the Big Bang — display evidence of events that took place before most scientists believe the universe came into being.

The controversial finding points to the existence of a universe that did not begin 13.7 billion years ago, as is generally accepted, but is instead a cycle of so-called aeons.

The discovery has been posted online by Professor Roger Penrose from the Oxford University and Professor Vahe Gurzadyan from Yerevan State University, Armenia, the Daily Mail reports.

Most scientists believe the universe was created in the Big Bang around 13.7 billion years ago. Our sun was born around five billion years ago, while life first appeared on the earth around 3.7 billion years ago. The CMB dates to 3,00,000 years after the Big Bang and has now cooled to around

-270 degrees Celsius. But Prof Penrose and Prof Gurzadyan argue that evidence unearthed by Nasa’s Wilkinson Microwave Anisotophy Probe in the CMB shows imprints in the radiation that are older than the Big Bang.

They say they have discovered 12 examples of concentric circles, some of which have five rings, meaning the same object has had five massive events in its history.

They believe the circles are imprints of extremely violent gravitational radiation waves generated by supermassive black hole collisions in a previous aeon before the last big bang.

Prof Penrose believes that his new theory means that black holes will eventually consume all the matter in the universe.

well im not sure bout it ?

I know of no reason why the universe couldn't be cyclical with periods of expansion, contraction and "bangs". If the universe is expanding because of the momentum from the big-bang eventually that momentum should be overcame by gravity pulling everything back to the center of the universe, resulting in black-holes and eventually a "point of infinity density", similar to how we believe the big bang was before it "exploded".

yeah!!! sure, we can now see how the earth is growing hot, and something like the big bang might come up again, not all relevant but still somehow like it. there may have been civilizations too, and the people then might have been advanced too compared to us(if there were any people and some planet like the earth).

i belive that our big bang was not the first and is not the last....after this universe is gone it shall re-create it self with yet another big bang, again and again and again ...though i have no evidence to prove my theory...simply my view of the circle of life

yes it has to exist ... because an asteroid came and it hit the big sun ..

Side: yeah might be!!!

Since no human being was around, the best answer to give is, "I don't know."
