Saying women shouldn't have a career is like to saying black people shouldn't have jobs outside of labor and criminal activities. Due to many, many years of being taught a certain way, people have decided that it's genetically set, for a certain type of people to do a certain something, be it stealing, or being a housewife. That's not good at all, in my opinion.

I think it is interesting that most people do not view raising children as a career? While I am a male, most "stay home moms" I know work harder and have more riding on their work than their male counterpoints. If I had a vote, I would say the only people whomdon't have careers are those that don't have a job of any kind (or vocation) and are not raising kids either.

Not sure which side to put this on but I think it belongs here.

we live in 21st century , where every 5th women has own career! in my opinion every human have opportunity to have a workplace and earn money . I think woman is nor exeption !

Discrimination of women is a problem number one in our society! I should say that a lot of men think that women should work and take care of children and do home and cook. But they should work and have a rest in many cases without families (to play football, to drink beer with friends and to fish or hunt). the most unfair thing is that women have no rights to drive cars, they consider that women are stupid and have no reaction in emergency. I hope I have given enough points to prove that "Discrimination of women" exists.

I'm assuming this is meant to be about most Women in the developed world, having careers. I'm sure it's not the same in the developing world, you know, those pesky centres of High population.

This argument dates back to the 1950's. As the economies around the world are degrading and we are facing another recession. It has become necessary that both heads of the household to have jobs,and be able to pay for all the bills and mounting debt. Per household, the US has more debt than any other modernized western country in the world. For women to have a career in a certain field of choice is not only liberating against backwards thinking people. But, is a good supplement to the family income.

Women should have every right a man has everywhere in the world.

That said I think "the majority" have careers is wrong. I think actually if you take all of the nearly 4 billion women in the world, most don't have careers nor as many rights as men, which is shameful.

Who are these Neanderthals on the other side of this debate?

I take the view that women should make her own career. She brought up by her parents, they give everything for her, education, clothes, money, behaviour and other important things. And for what? For getting marry, give birth to children and cook for husband? nothing more? As women she has to have home, family and own career. She doesn`t have earn money for whole family, but for herself, for needs. She would feel good, because she held as individual person.And husband has to do own bussiness.

They should have an equal chance to career, but do whatever they heck they want (within the law...) I don't want to say ALL women need a career, but I wouldn't want to say that about men either.

Hey, if female lions do all the hunting, then why can't we have jobs? Nature says so people.

We have no need for classic gender roles in our prosperity today. Women can do whatever makes them happy these days without there being a risk to our population count.

To my mind, women have all rights to have a career. Nowadays many women have career and earn money, even more than their husbands. And I support the opinion, that saying women shouldn't have a career is the same like saying black men have no rights to have a job. Most people, especially men, strongly believe that women were created in order to cook a meal, bring up their children, do all things about the house and other things, but they do not have to work. To say the truth, I do not understand such people. Why, for example husband doesn't help his wife about the house or to cook a meal. Why all this things must be done by women only. I, personally, know such women who make their career and bring their children up at the same time. And some of them even earn more money than their husbands. Of course, men have much more opportunity to make a good career, and they have to do it. saying that women do not have to work sounds like discrimination of women. Such problem is really needed to be solved. And such work are being done, but not in all countries. For instance, in such countries, like Finland, Nederland number of men and women in government is eaqual. This proves that women can work not worse than men. But situation, like discrimination is not absolutely solved in all countries and we should work on it. That is why, one of the steps to solve it is giving women to work and make career.

Women are human beings like men. Deskriminatsiya Women's horrible, man must realize that they also need to communicate and they need to work. We sould solve this problem very seroiusly, because many of women suffer from this.

Nowadays some people say that career is not for women, but this argument is, in my opinion, outdated. Women should or even can have career. In many aspects women are smarter, it doesn't depend on your gender, but your skill level or education that you have. I agree that women are also human beings as men are, so it is their choice about career issue.Some women have to support their family, and notice that today in some families person who has a job is a woman, while husbands stay at home. So, women should have rights to choose career, have a job and earn money.

We live in the 21st century, but women still been discriminated. Women play a great role in the development of the society. They help men to be independent and be loved. In every fields of life we can see women working. They are part of society and world.

Freedom for women does not exist in some countries. They are not equal to men they have lower rights. They are often abused by their husbands, brothers and fathers. in some countries it is not allowed for women drive car and work. i think this problem should be solved in the future. There should be equal rights for men and women. Society is when men and women equal and help each other in difficult situations.

Seriously? Hello?! Having babies is not our only ambition or "purpose"!
