Do Christians have a moral duty to convert people?

Yes

No

The better answer would be: yes and no.

Morality is inherently subjective and non-absolute. If some Christians consider it a moral duty to convert non-Christians to their faith, then that moral duty exists just as legitimately as any other moral duty conceived of.

Christians (God's children) are comissioned by God to display the full truth of God's New Testament Revelation .... the good / the bad and the ugly .... salvation is receiving life / entering the Kingdom of God and escaping the torments of Hell .... both are coming realities for those who receive and accept (Jn 1:12) and for those who reject / mock and scoff (Matt 24:51) .... today is the day to decide if you haven't already .... http://dadmansabode.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1398#p1398 ... good luck :)

Christians dont convert anyone. We share the Law and the Gospel, and give them the chance to be converted by God.

Side: No

yes, they have to spread their religion like any cancer, it's how it stays alive.

Side: No

Christians have a duty to spread the message itself and represent or be a "witness" through their life. The actual "conversion" is left to God and in fact, it is all through Christ "lest anyone should boast".

So if the "conversion" is on god, why doesn't god just reveal himself to the world and convince everybody of his existence? Does your god not want people to be converted and "believe"? :DD

Even when Jesus was on this earth doing miracles. People still didn't believe and it would be the same. One day God will reveal Himself when He comes down with His people to New Jerusalem.

Who says He hasn't?

Romans 8:20&21;20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

Even if He did, wouldn't people just make up some excuse like they do with Christ's crucifixion and resurrection? Wouldn't people blame a divine appearance on hallucinates or illusion?

The denials of Christ today are no different than those of when Jesus was alive.

It is God's duty to convert people while we are just messengers and planting seeds into the hearts of all people so that God will water those seeds and bring forth fruit.

pretty arrogant assumption to say you know a) that god exist and b) that you know his duties. what have you seen that I haven't?

Side: Yes

It's not an arrogant assumption at all. That is what Christ called us to do to make disciples. I have seen and heard lots of stories of people coming to Christ that probably you haven't heard of because you are uninterested in it.

Side: No

No because it is God that convertys. Christians can just share the love of Jesus.

no but they do have a duty to get educated and and stop breeding and supporting ignorance in society.

Side: No

No one has a moral duty to convert others. It is extremist to do something such as this activity.
