I don't think you can escape from zombies for long because...
1. They cannot die.
2. They only mission is to kill and they won't stop.
I think the best way to defeat a zombie is to become one yourself. I believe this is so because i have never saw or heard of a zombie killing another zombie.
That town is literally in the middle of nowhere, half of it on a swamp, the other half on the Bering Sea. It's cold all year long, and most likely freezes every night.
Unless zombies (or anyone else, for that matter) have antifreeze in their blood, there's no way they'd reach Kotzebue via walking.
My friend Amanda and I have this serious escape plan. We're gonna hotwire a car then drive to a gun store and take all of the BIG guns and ammo and drive until we run outa gas, then fill up the car (WHOO-HOO!!!! FREE GAS!!!) and keep going.
Yes I have a Zombie "Evacuation" Plan. I plan to steal a bus and drive to alaska. If we stay in below freezing temperatures they will freeze. I will be safe.

In reality, this is what the zombie evacuation plan is really for because we still see Obama supporters still walking around reminding us to vote for hope and change.
Maybe not, there is a lot of anti-somnambulism in this world, people are dangerous and Zombies only want to do their thing, without having their heads removed. I shall endeavor forthwith to develop a plan to protect Zombies from people, and hopefully make a world where racism and hate crime is a thing of the past.
Maybe they will, but probably not, Zombies haven't had their renaissance, enlightenment or industrial revolution yet, we have a moral responsibility to guide our less evolved cousins into society and civilization.
