Utopian ideas usually sound good at a glance, but on further analysis they always have hidden costs that the ideologue either doesn't see or purposefully conceals. From my reading of history, these hidden costs are always higher than any gain from utilizing the system and in the end the system doesn't even achieve it's goal(s). Part of why these societies don't work is because they don't see the world and people as they are, but as they "should" be. Worse still, after finding that people are not as they "should" be, they attempt to brainwash people into being as they "should" be. Side: yes

Do groups that try to create utopian societies start wars and oppression? Depends. If they truly believe it will be "utopian" (i.e. perfect), then yes--as that is a level of delusion which is truly dangerous. Now, if they think we can create a better society and there are ideals worth striving toward, then destruction & oppression are certainly not necessitated. Side: no
If they truly believe it will be "utopian" (i.e. perfect), then yes--as that is a level of delusion which is truly dangerous. The Ukraine has been trying to create their own Utopian society, which is why the Russian military had to intervene -- to stand up for the rights of their citizens. Side: yes
@Daegonus. False news there shithead. In December 1991 Ukraine held a referendum on the Declaration of Independence with over 92% of the electorate voting in favor of autonomy. You're a PERFECT example of the the type of filth that spreads the false news to which President Trump often refers. Side: no
