Ofcourse I know there are a lot of gay people in the world but from a highschool stand point, it is just a trend. A lot of those people that come out of the closet later in jr high and high school are just looking for attention or popularity. They just want people to look at them differently than as a nobody. And if they dont want that, they just want to become friends with a bunch of girls and hang around them because they never could before they came out of the closet. It is just to get the attention that they never got before.

This does not seem likely, emotion is hard to fake, do you think that an actual straight person would have homosexual relations to be popular or to talk to women. It seems counter productive to have all the girls think that you are gay. Furthermore homosexuals have no choice in their sexuality and having "coming out" trivialized is insulting to brave men and women that wish to be themselves in a world that unjustly condemns their actions.

I think generally, society is growing more accepting of a person's sexuality, which i think is great because people should be allowed to be with however they want to (you know, as long as the feelings are reciprocated). I highly doubt this is a trend because, first off, it still is not seen as popular or cool to be gay or lesbian (unless you are a girl, because apparently modern culture tells me that's just hot). I would like to have enough hope in humanity to think that no person, would deny their own sexuality to fit in, but that does happen on the flip side where people pretend to be straight to fit in or have to hide their own sexuality. But why I have to say is, why would you want to fit in? Why would you want to belong to a culture or group of people that does not accept you for who you are. I hope people become more comfortable and can gain the courage to accept who they are and not hold back their identity to appease the homophobia of others.

I say a little bit of both.

Some people just say that they are gay/bi/lesbian just for the attention because they just love the attention, on the other hand people could really be gay/bi/lesbian.

Ether way, it's there choice.

& I support it all.

Love is love no matter what the gender.

People are born Straight and they are born Gay, so, a Gay person feels more comfortable coming out.

We've been here and done this.

The fact is every mammal from whale to dog to human has a very measurable and consistant rate of homosexuality from 10-15%.

You can observe it in any animal with fur or in the water that breathes oxygen.

Human's are the only one that "varies" from this model,

but they only vary in that it happens society says in some centuries it is bad.

The fact is, you can give a tax cut to gays, and you will not find a straight man to take advantage. There is no upside to claiming gay if straight from the shopping trips to hanging out with a girl that won't stop talking and stll not getting laid out of the deal.

You are gay or you are not.

You are born that way.

Not a choice, not your fault, nothing fucking wrong with it.

In fact, despite TV's portrayal not every gay guy is over the top. A lot of these dudes are men who play pro sports and defend our country with their life.

... and everyone loves lesbians so they don't need defense anyway.

blah blah.

The point is it is naturally and does 0 harm.

The only thing creating this debate is religion, naturally, the greatest evil in the world, fucking wolf in sheep's clothing this religion bullshit.

Woah, turn off the defenses.

I know all that, but I still believe that there are people that are saying it because it's "cool". When in fact they wouldn't touch the same gender unless it's themselves.

But I do disagree with everyone, including animals, being gay. My only reasoning to that is because if that were the case we'd see more animals sex the same gender. I don't know though, I haven't really looked into all the facts.

"we'd see more animals sex the same gender." Um, I can only assume that by that you mean that you are asking why you don't see more homosexuality in nature. That may have to do with the fact that either you don't see it, or cannot tell it. Honestly how often do you catch animals out in the wild having sex? Very rarely, so you can't assert that claim when the number of animals you have ever seen having sex in the wild would be far to minimal for it to be the basis for a conclusion. I think this is best left to biologist, which is how iamdavidh came up with his 10-15%.

>< are you a smart 5 year old or a dumb 8 year old? I can't tell.

The number of gay animals having sex is recorded by people who observe nature. Since us humans only generally have the opportunity to see animals having sex when it is two stray dogs or cats, and since we cannot really tell from a distance if both have a penis or only one, we trust the experts. Experts say 10-15 percent for most mammals.

So next time you hear two cats whining and hissing in their little love throws, be aware there is a greater than 1 in 10 chance they are of the same sex.

Plus why do you care? I'm not gay, thus I do not care. I can only imagine you must be in the closet. This is the only natural assumption any straight person can make of another opposed to this because straight people DONT FUCKING CARE.

It's okay, you're obviously gay, good thing you have Internet, now you can make friends anonymously.

If it causes "0 harm" then why does gay sex cause so many diseases and illnesses? Type into google "health risks of gay sex" or something and a whole bunch of studies and evidence is shown for the alarming results of gay sex. Whilst I have nothing against gays and also believe that it is most likely not a trend, I find what they do to be absolutely disgusting. That being said, I have nothing against them. For example, smoking - I don't hate smokers I hate cigarettes. I hate volleyball but I don't hate the volleyball player. I don't hate gays I hate what they do. Another thing, not "everyone loves lesbians"; man and lesbians love lesbians. Not everyone. Also, homosexuality is not believed by all to be genetical, some believe it is a choice one makes at some point in life.

P.S. Calm down, religion didn't create this debate; a guy who wanted to know whether homosexuality was trend or comfort did. Religion isn't a wolf in sheep's clothing, man is a wolf in sheep's clothing. Instead of blaming something on a concept that is incapable of life, blame it on the man who has abused religion and made it look bad. Lastly, you say that "a lot of these dudes are men who defend our country with their life"; actually, many gays have committed suicide because of the horrendous bullying they endure for their sexual preferences. Whilst they do sign up, like you say, and the laws on gays in the military are becoming more gay-friendly, that doesn't stop the abuse they recieve from the other straight men. Besides, whilst I disagree with the bullying gays recieve, it must be really unpleasant for the straight guys having to shower with the gay ones - imagine a shower room filled with men and women, imagine the amount of men checking out the women! If I was in there I'd run as fast as I can and go without showering for the rest of my time in the army! THAT is why women and men shower and sleep in seperate barracks...

homosexuality is not believed by all to be genetical, some believe it is a choice one makes at some point in life.

There is no evidence of homosexuality being a genetic trait, there couldn't be. Homosexuality is a genetic dead end, a gene that would cause this would not be passed on in most cases as obviously sexual animals of the same gender can not produce offspring.

That said there is enough evidence to show that homosexuality is caused by chemical imbalance in utero, people that are gay do not chose it, it makes no sense to just give up on natural biological urges and try mate with that which can not reproduce. A gay man has for the most part a female brain and natural females like males, it is therefore understandable that gay men like men, no choice just nature.
