I will present a very weak 'yes' here, because I have seen the effects of violent video games on children. However, it is a weak 'yes' because I think this is more a factor of poor parenting than the influence of video games. Good parents don't allow their children to be consumed by games, good parents make sure their children understand the difference between games and real life, and ensure they don't get involved in too violent of games for their age. When something contributes to a certain outcome, it means that it is one factor for that outcome. It could either have a small or large effect on that outcome. This is why violent video games contribute to youth violence. Their effect on youth violence, however, varies on the youth's response. Sometimes there are youth that never demonstrate violent behavior due to violent video games. There are instances, however, where youth are partially influenced by video games; I personally have seen this. I knew a person that wanted to go to war because Call of Duty "made it look fun and adventurous" (a direct quote from him). This shows that video games can influence behavior and the routes or decisions that people make. In this case, he wanted to go to war, which he did; so why can't a video game influence violent behavior if it looks fun? We all know that there are mentally-unstable people in this world, and there are also those who have weak moralities. These can be influenced by genetics or parental oversight, as stated before. These can contribute to their response to video games, and, if they do not receive them in the right way and find that harming others would be fun, entertaining, or even just the right thing to do. So yes, video games should not be entirely blamed for violent youth, but they can easily contribute to a violent state of mind if approached in the wrong way. Side: They do contribute

The question is asking whether they contribute to youth violence. It does because it can act as an influence towards your actions. It isn't you completely blame the video games. You also blame yourself, which is what you said. Violent video games don't contribute to all of youth violence, but it does in some cases. It's just another case where the environment can contribute or influence a certain person's actions. Side: They do contribute
If this was true, wouldn't participating in actual violent games, such as football, even more dramatically increase it? I don't see anyone trying to ban football. Then again, someone probably is. The CIA has done a study in youth crime, The only things the youths had in common was being male, and being depressed. Millions of violent video games are sold to millions of kids every day. Playing violent video games is now considered a normal activity, as common for kids to do as brushing your teeth. Youth crime has actually declined since the introduction of violent video games in everyday life. I rest my case. Side: They do not contribute

When it is asking whether they contribute, it means to ask whether or not video games could be a factor for violent behavior. It isn't asking whether violent games should be completely blamed for violent behavior. However, I do believe that certain people are using violent video games as a scapegoat, which they shouldn't be, because bad parenting and genetics also contribute to their behavior. Were you trying to ask whether they should be blamed entirely? Side: They do contribute

It actually depends on who is playing the game and what kind of game it is. If the player is short fused and it's a hard game it will cause them to get angry and do damage, but if it's a calm player and an easy game the player will not get upset and might even calm them down. Also it is more likely the player will get easily angrier if it's competitive game which in that manner it depends if the player is good at the game or bad. Side: It depends

i really dont think that violent video games contribute to youths violence.Youths will be violent even if they don't play these games. But at the same time youths play these games get the intensity from the game and wish that life was really like this and start to wounder what life would be like if it was this way and some of the games make it look OK for them to do these things so they try them and think they can get away with it when really they can cause harm to others and them selves and end up in prison or jail or worse DEAD.
