Do we still need the word - Transgender?

I mean, if there's no such thing as "gender," then "transgender" makes no sense.

Do we need a word for people with a "Y" chromosome?

Do we need the term "Gay-Marriage?"  I mean, isn't marriage now defined as the union between 2 people?  Do we have a need to specify the fact that they are the same gend... I mean..., sex?

Has the meaning of the word "sex" changed?  I can't keep up.

I thought that "abortion" was a done deal.  But now..., I'm not so sure.  For a while there it seemed like a war of attrition.  Neither side making any head-way.  The pro-choice people were holding the line.  Now, it looks like the pro-life people got a toe-hold.

You would imagine that White-Supremist would go the way of the Dodo.  I guess there is always a die-hard.

Maybe we need new words.  Is there a need for the word, "Trans-Jenner?"  I define it as the first transgender person to win the "Woman of the Year" award.  We could say that Caitlyn Jenner won the "Woman of the Year" award but that would downplay the advancement and contribution of trans-people.

BTW, is the term "Trans-people" allowed or do I have to specify Transwoman and Transman?  I thought the word "person" was the most respectful (i.e., Fireperson, Mailperson, etc.).

Also, is it a hyphenated word? I wouldn't want to piss anybody off ;)

Absolutely.

Has anybody else been thinking about any of this or are we just zig-zagging along with the crowd? I mean, who gets to decide ;)

Do we still need the word - Transgender?

Hello joe:

Nahhh. There's a LOT of words right wingers would rather not know. But, once you know them, you'll ALWAYS know them..

UNLESS you go through the Trump cult initiation procedure.. It requires a TOTAL cleansing of words you simply don't like, and a re-write of recent history. Then and only THEN you can ignore words, and events that actually HAPPENED

Yeah... Throwing OUT words is waaay better than learning NEW ones. That makes us reel smart.

This argument missing the point mithink because knowing a word or not is not the debate, it is the debate to determine the validity of the word. Just because you now know the word flubchubbajungusdalefannystinkle doesn't mean it makes any logical sense in the cerebral cortex lobes.

UNLESS you go through the Trump cult initiation procedure

Despite the wide acceptance of the term "transgender," some argue that it is not the most relevant or appropriate term to use. Some individuals feel that the term does not accurately capture their specific experiences or identities, and prefer to use other terms such as non-binary or gender non-conforming. This blog provides loads of great information: https://facialteam.eu/blog/ Additionally, some argue that the term "transgender" reinforces a binary understanding of gender, and that it is limiting in its ability to fully encompass the diversity of gender identities and experiences.
