I do. Millions can now afford health insurance who couldn't afford it before.

I say no for many reasons, but even those in favor of nationalized health care should realize that we simply can't afford it.

Side: No

It wastes tons of money. Tax payer money. Which means your paying for it!

I wouldn't go so far as to say "wastes." I agree that it's expensive, and that (at least until Congress et al decide what they want to do about the debt ceiling and get a convincing budget bill passed) we're broke and probably can't afford it, but even though the taxpayers would ultimately be paying for it, I think a nationalized system could, if nothing else, save money for the end user (i.e., Joe Public). After all, the government would be spared from excessive worrying about the bottom line--no shareholders to keep happy, and if the government wants to make more money they could simply raise taxes (assuming they could pass such a bill and get the American populace to accept it), not increase the deductible or what have you.

No, it's unaffordable and not right to force it on people.

nationalized health care is the real solution. With all the profits insurance companies make put back into the system we'd have better health care at a lower costs. Profiting from someone's illnesses isn't what we should be doing. (does not mean not paying doctors well... just no shareholders and executives making a billion a year).

However the individual mandate in the current bill is Unconstitutional. The government can not mandate we buy a product from a private - for profit business - even if it is in the best interest of the country. If they can do that they could mandate we all buy new American cars to prop up the auto industry.
