Do you believe in the Mandela Effect?

How do you distinguish between a mandela effect and plain stupidity? Like for example...i remember a group of people thought that Jack and Rose were real people who died on the Titanic. I laughed because it was a silly stupid belief. But what if they were real people and that belief is related to the mandela effect? lol.

I'm not sure how to deal with this. Mainly because a sizable portion of the stuff they claim is due to the mandela effect could just be due to remembering something wrong. A famous example is the line from star wars where people thought that vader said "Luke I am your father" when it was really "no I am your father."
