CreateDebate is a social debate community built around ideas, discussion and democracy.
If this is your first time checking out a debate, here are some quick tips to help get you started:
Arguments with the highest score are displayed first.
Argument replies (both in favor and in opposition) are displayed below the original argument.
To follow along, you may find it helpful to show and hide the replies displayed below each argument.
To vote for an argument, use these icons:
You have the power to cast exactly one vote (either up or down) for each argument.
Once you vote, the icon will become grayed out and the argument's score will change.
Yes, you can change your vote.
Debate scores, side scores and tag scores are automatically calculated by an algorithm that primarily takes argument scores into account.
All scores are updated in real-time.

I try not to care and most times I don't but its hard and sometimes you find yourself inadvertently caring what someone thinks. I don't think its possible to not care what others think all the time.
The question is about what? My self esteem? My welfare? My opinions? The old saying goes ' charity starts at home' and it rings true to me. Rational self interest should be a top priority.
Yet, I do care what my friends, family and Philosophy teachers think , if their thinking are reasonable and I can get benefit from their insights then I should care. This is why I joined this debate organization to have constructive arguments to increase my knowledge and also to acquire the skills to debate crooked thinkers.
Do I care what people on this site think of me? No, not really. I mean. This place is as bad as it gets. But in my life? With my friends and family, and with other communities I'm in? I'm positively terrified by leaving a bad impression or being excluded or knowing someone hates me or thinking someone hates me. It gets to the point where my anxiety is so overwhelming that I start to develop psychosomatic responses in the form of my heart literally hurting(A lot), loss of vision, shakier breathing, uncontrollable trembling. That kind of stuff. I've had to leave in the middle of college classes before. Which is. Frightfully embarrassing and only makes it worse later.
And I realize how stupid it is, but there's a disconnect between my emotions and my thoughts and I really haven't been able to mend it. It uh. It sucks. A lot.
I'm not desperate, but I do care what people think, as does everyone to a certain point. I'll be honest and say I am pretty insecure, so I am always trying to please everyone and make myself as presentable as possible. I care too much, definitely more than I should.
Considering the truth of the statement that "No one can escape the influence of the prevailing ideology", I care deeply what others think. Further, anyone who would bother express themselves to others, or listens to others, cares what other people think.
The important factor in determining ones own character and mental freedom, is the choice one makes about whose opinion they care about. One can't care what everyone thinks without being a phony. If one doesn't care what anyone thinks, they may be a sociopath.
I'm not completely void of other's sentiments, but I'm not as desperate as to fish online for compliments, or not wear what I'd like for fear of chastisement.
I think to a certain extent we all care what others think, it's healthy to. Anyone who doesn't could very well be a maniac, who doesn't have real emotions but is good at faking them.
Oh but I do. I mean where would I be without his constant flow of overly interesting facts, superb motivational support, and most of all, sheer determination to be a real friendly kinda' guy.
Nah I am joking though I do dislike him, simply because he is overly malicious towards me when it really ought not have to be that way when we're debating. There's a guy at our school like that, he has some sort of superiority complex. But yeah I don't like him, but.. Wait... Which column am I posting this argument in..?!
Who doesn't? And in any case, why are you telling me my own behavior? I think I know it better than you do..! If you're trying to make me feel like a bad debater that isn't going to work, I'm far too pretentious and obnoxious for that :L
Oh Jesus Christ Cartman fucking drop it! God why the hell does some far away guy you don't know mean so much to you? Fucking leave it OK and get a goddamn life. The argument was had, it finished, I moved on, forgot about it. Why can't you do the same?
( Sarcastically,) oh you dumb fuck obviously you can't read, because it says my name by that. Ja, I was implying that I don't care what you have to say to me because you seem really intent on telling me what you think. Hash-fucking-tag I don't care. Besides the point I made, that was an old debate and I can't remember the feud we had, and honest to God I don't care what it was. If you felt so hurt by what it said, go join a gym and release your fury on a punching bag or something, but for Gods sake don't try to be the intelligent debater and then start to hold grudges like some six year old girl. Drop.It.
It isn't hard, all you have to do now is say OK, followed maybe by some swear words or something I don't care, but just leave it. Honestly neither of us came on this site to have petty little bitch fights like this against each other.

You asked me why I can't drop it, I answered you.
old debate
From 3 days ago is old now? I asked for a response a little more than 1 hour after you posted originally. Should I post within half an hour on your random posts to make sure I get an answer?
I can't remember the feud we had
So, because I have good memory, I am the bad guy?

Who is the one who posted the crazy argument?
It isn't hard, all you have to do now is say OK, followed maybe by some swear words or something I don't care, but just leave it.
You are the liar, why should I be the one to have to stop? You refuse to admit you did anything wrong. If you apologize, I will drop it.

You complain that I am telling you about your own behavior, yet you persist to tell me that I am a liar. You know I am sure you have lied once in your life too, I am sure that you have cheated, taken things that weren't yours, sinned, e.t.c. But I don't call you all of these things do I? Nope. And you interpreted what I said wrongly, that is not my fault.
Besides, I didn't lie directly to you anyway, so why should I apologise to you? And because I am a liar, doesn't mean you don't have to stop, as you put it.
Yes I started the post, but I don't think #Cartman is a 'crazy post. Which incidentally, has nothing to do with what I said.
When I said I can't remember the feud, it's because it was of no importance, just something to keep me occupied for a while, like now whilst I'm waiting for one of my friends to get here. But you take it too seriously, and I don't know where you get this 'bad guy' stuff from, I am just saying you should drop it.
Ja mein fuhrer, it is an old debate because the moment it finished, that was it, old debate gone now. Why reprise it?
And when I said the " dumb fuck can't read' thing, I was mocking what you were saying to me last time, just to give you a little taste of your " I'm gonna hold grudges" attitude.
Did you enjoy that, did you enjoy me getting bits from your argument and tackling them because I can't think of anything else to say of my own accord? It's what you're always doing.
Wasn't that fun, now I've had enough, so screw you Cartman, you're boring me now, bye bye.
P.s. Hope I wasted your time by making you read all that bullshit!

I was giving you a taste of your telling me my behavior routine.
Besides, I didn't lie directly to you anyway, so why should I apologise to you? And because I am a liar, doesn't mean you don't have to stop, as you put it.
You said you were going to do something, you didn't do it. Admit it and we can move on.

You couldn't drop it, deal with the consequences.

You say that now that you are losing the feud.
Ja mein fuhrer, it is an old debate because the moment it finished, that was it, old debate gone now. Why reprise it?
So, as soon as you posted you were done with the debate, and in your post you said that you would do something. So, you never intended to do the thing you said you were going to do. That's called lying buddy.
And when I said the " dumb fuck can't read' thing, I was mocking what you were saying to me last time, just to give you a little taste of your " I'm gonna hold grudges" attitude.
Whatever, you did a bad job mocking me. If your mocking skills were as good as your lying I would expect better.

Immensely, it made you look like a complete idiot. When I do it, it has value.
Wasn't that fun, now I've had enough, so screw you Cartman, you're boring me now, bye bye.

Ha, you said 'I'm going home', which is slightly comical as one is made to believe you are already at home. I do hope so, otherwise it would be less funny.
Gotta say I do like Twinkies..... Plus everyday that passes by, I get a little closer to my birthday. And on my birthday I get money and things, which is also good. Yet everyday that passes by, my life gets 24 hours shorter, which isn't a plus. But blaaaarg, who cares ( a great many people actually.)
But you're right about the Twinkies.
And why did you make that a dispute, should have at least been a clarify. I mean, " I dispute what you're saying by giving you reasons to back up your argument" doesn't make much sense...
I'm very stubborn and I am trying to finish it. And besides it would be rude to just leave half way through something. We come to a mutual agreement or something :L
Oh God the amount of times I have heard this quote is immeasurable.. You know there are hundreds of different definitions of madness and you coming up with one does not make you any more wise ( I appreciate the fact you may respond with something like 'I wasn't trying to be wise', so yeah just go right on ahead.)
I just don't see what being stubborn in this situation buys you. But yeah.., whatever..., just go right ahead. I think I get points for every argument my debate generates ;)
While most of the people THINK that they are mentally free, they're emotionally insecure about their looks and way of living. Most people are scared to speak to avoid embarrassment. That's because they constantly think of what others are thinking about them. I am mentally free but most of the people aren't.
Not really, as long as I'm still happy why should it bother me what peopel think? Which is why I care not about fashion, nor how I really look ( too scruffy and people treat you badly, which doesn't work out for me so I don't) and other things like that. As long as it suits me and doesn't piss off other people too much to make them annoy me, then it's allllll riiiiiight.
Oh, and especially when people who don't know me argue with me trying to convince me that I am one thing or another based on a couple of the arguments they have read. That makes me chuckle to see the arrogance of some people. No one in particular..
Ha, I see what you did there, you are taking up the role of Eric Cartman in that he is friends with Kyle Broflovski, and you said Joo because he is a sneaky, money grabbing, afro-bearing, gold snatching Jew, and you didn't want to cause offence perhaps.
Oh I see, well I don't watch it that much anymore. They don't show it on Viva, and after the Osama Bin Laden episode I watched, that really peddled it down for me..
Bah, was really childish, politically incorrect ( factually) and they portrayed Osama as a bumbling fool who says 'flab flab a wang wah.' Which I just thought was really stupid. I mean, there were no political jokes, no witty lines, just a 5 year old's idea of comedy; people making silly noises and waving their arms around.
Ha! No I just think if I made a cartoon showing Adolf Hitler as being some smelly farting fool who dribbles and can't talk properly and gesticulates vividly with a child like grin on his face, and put it on Family Guy, the audience would think " What the hell is this? This isn't funny, this is juts childish." Those adult cartoons are for people who watch the news, listen to the radio, and are interested in world affairs, so if someone makes a joke about Dick Chaney, people will understand because they know about Dick Chaney and can relate to the joke. Making some bumbling goon has no wit, nor intelligence, just something visually entertaining. Which may be OK if you're a child, but shows like The Simpsons, Family Guy and South Park make jokes about politics, world news e.t.c. And having this childish thing there is simply out of place. They did an episode relating to the last supper and about Jesus. It would have been offence to some Christians, but it was an episode where you had to know how Jesus spent his last days and what happened to him and why it happened, to understand the episode. The Osama thing however, was quite the opposite.
No, they would say, heck yeah, screw Hitler. That's because most people aren't Nazi sympathizers. Just like people who support the way Osama was depicted aren't terrorist sympathizers.
No I am not sympathising with them, I just think it's childish, stupid and unentertaining. Maybe so to people with simplistic minds, but then again it shouldn't be on South Park.
No no no this is way before they stopped showing it in Viva. Before it was " South park is on, must not miss it." Then it became " Oh, south park is on. 'spose I could watch if nothing else is on."
Now that they've taken it off, I cannot watch it. I would if I could, sometimes.
