Do you think that one day we will have online voting?

Don't we all hate lines on 11/2?

I'm not sure if it will necessarily be "online" but it will be virtual voting. As technology progresses, it will be easier to validate a person's identity for virtual access yet keep the results of that access anonymous. At this time, we lack the security.

Side: yes

Yes, I believe there will be cyber voting...but it will have to be designed very carefully because of hacking, as Pyggy says. It's a scary thought! I'm not certain I would support it until I saw its design though. Standing in line once every four years doesn't bother me as much as my vote not being counted properly! Building something like "Virtual Voting" without a firm back-up plan would be useless, I think. Perhaps a program including something like a verifiable receipt on-line so you can know, absolutely, that your vote went through. What do you guys think of that idea?

I WOULD ASSUME SO BECAUSE WE HAVE ON-LINE EVERYTHING ELSE AND THE VOTES ARE TRANSFERRED ON-LINE ANYWAY SO WHY NOT?

WELL I THINK THEY ARE TRANSFERRED THAT WAY.

howmany people are able to hack into the goverments topsecret files not many what do you think the likely hood of them being tamperd with by a hacker are?

Not at this point in computer history.

Hacking is just too real of a possibility!

You never know if your system is strong enough.

I mean, sure, it is the goverment creating the cyber voting, but you

can't say no one is smarter than the goverment!

hacking is becoming so easy now it's scary. online voting sounds like a joke to anon.

we already have voter fraud (thanks ACORN) due to conveniences added to voting.

as much as i hate lines, it's a risk i'm willing to take in order to make sure that my vote is safe. i can't say it will ever be 100% safe, but it's better than having a 50/50 shot.
