Although he has come and gone, I really think that the Pope's visit did help Americans. First of all, it's nice to see a religious figure headlining the news for a good reason. For once, it wasn't another story about Britney or some other figure that we idolize so much. I think he tried to bring some healing to the priest sex scandal that has plagued our nation for the last few years. Instead of defaming SNAP, lawyers and others who are a pain in the * and keep trying to create more scandal where there is none, he just apologized and tried to heal. I think that we all can learn a lot from him. We can blame others for things in this world that we do not like, or we can move forward and make changes in our own lives. We can try to bring peace, compassion and hope to others. That in turn brings those same to our lives. America spends too much effort idolizing celebrities and all things money can buy. Should we perhaps look at what truly brings happiness: love, friendship, compassion and hope.

I hope that the Pope's visit to America will help in some fashion. The Pope preaches peace, love, and goodwill towards our fellow man. In this day and age everyone could stand to hear more about those three topics. Also, with the recent turmoil in the Catholic Church and with attendance at Mass declining, I believe the Pope's visit will show that the Vatican stands in solidarity with the Church in the US and hopefully will encourage more people to attend Mass on a regular basis and lead a Godly life.

It is now 2015 and Pope Francis will be coming to America in the Fall. The Pope always draws the crowds.

No! America is becoming far too religious as it is, and it has not helped improved the country in the slightest, so adding more religiosity to the mess will not help. It's nice that the Pope is thinking of good ol' north America, but the evangelicals aren't very appreciative of it. Separation of Church and State needs to grow, not become non-existent.

Help how? Stimulate the economy? Nope. Decrease unemployment? Nope. Save lives? Nope. Reduce crime? Not likely. Induce marital fidelity and lower divorce? Hardly. Convince politicians to be honest? Don't make me laugh. Take away our sins? Impossible. Generate income for toy, soap, food, and novelty makers? Ya got me there.

Side: No

No!!! The pope is just another man. People see him as an idol or maybe even a god, Only God can help America get back on its feet.I dont understand why so many people depend more on man than on a living God.The pope has so much money yet doesnt help a fly. GOD said "YOU SHALL NOT HAVE OTHER IDOLS BEFORE ME. God is a jealous God, we need to go back to our first love and quit depending on others to help america. The pope has no power, not even Jesus was recognized wordlwide being the son of God, why would we bow down and waste our tears on a man just because he calls himself the pope. God is the almighty God and he needs no help. He uses the poor, the unknown and the despised to change the world, to let people know about his love. He doesnt need the rich who blaspheme his name and think they have all they need , yet dont have God.
